2018: A Sock Year in Review -
These posts are always a fun walk down memory lane. It’s hard to see how far you’ve come until you sit down and weigh the last year, isn’t it? Well, 2018 saw a lot of new styles from us, some of which became instant favorites. Let’s take a look back, shall we?
Be aware that some of these items may be currently out of stock, but we won’t hold that against them. If you’d like to know when an item is restocked, you can sign up for an email notification on the item’s page.
This year more than any other year, we really embraced tube socks; socks made without a formed heel, so that they can fit almost any foot, big or small. We love these styles because of their versatility; they’re perfect for anyone who has trouble finding socks in their foot size, and makes it easier for you to shop by aesthetic preferences rather than fit concerns.
We started by expanding our Proud Stripes line to include short and long tube version of the acrylic stripes. The short tubes will be knee high on some legs and crew or midcalf on other legs, and the long tubes will go extra high on smaller feet, while still being over the knee on bigger feet. Most importantly, this opened up the line to a lot of folks with bigger feet who previously couldn’t wear the socks.
And we also released the same lengths in our Freedom Stripes.
In the same vein, we had to spread the love to our Harvest Rainbows with a short tube as well.
And speaking of rainbows, we created these cute little crews.
Finally, we introduced our new line of Um…Socks that let your feet convey your feelings, even if mum’s the word.

It probably wouldn’t be Sock Dreams if we didn’t add some new stripes! This year we added to our existing stripe styles with a new take on pastel rainbows and a longer version of our Gradient Striped Thigh Highs.

Sophisticated Patterns & Textures
We had a lot of fun with subtler patterns this year, as well. We expanded our Marled and Confetti lines, both of which use a mix of yarns to create subtle patterns. Not as flashy as our brighter styles, but a step beyond a solid sock.
We also added some knit textures that build the pattern right there into the sock, no other colors necessary.
We didn’t add a lot of accessories this year, but we did create the Rainbow Double Grip Clips in two lengths!
Finally, this year we were able to add two new collaborations to our list! We worked with Moshow the Cat Rapper to design three purrfect styles inspired by him and his cats.
We also worked with the Vulva Art Project to design crew socks inspired by the curves of the human body, some of the proceeds of which go to support the health resources available through Planned Parenthood.
Now, it’s time for some honorable mentions! In addition to all the new styles we introduced, we updated some old favorites with new colorways.
We went wild with our Dreamer Americana Thigh Highs, bringing in nine new colorways!
But we didn't stop there! We added six new colorways to our Confetti M45s...

Two new colorways to our Dreamer Tartan OTK Socks...
And a lovely grey version of our Dreamer Vertical Lines Thigh Highs.
And finally, we added a new colorway to our Cotton Proud Stripes crews and thigh highs, inspired by the Aromantic Pride flag.
2018 was a busy year overall, and while we can’t necessarily say we’re sad to see it go, we’re glad a lot of great styles could come out of it. Here’s to 2019, and all the wonderful things it may hold!
