National Wildflower Week
Did you know it’s been National Wildflower Week? A celebration of native wildflowers, National Wildflower Week is a fairly new holiday (started in 1988), overseen by the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. They say “Across the nation, wildflowers growing beside highways, in gardens and elsewhere are valued for their natural beauty.”
We live in a pretty verdant place here in the Pacific Northwest, but wildflowers are everywhere! In celebration of these blooming beauties, let’s look at some our floral styles (even if the blossoms depicted on a lot of them are of the cultivated type) and take a walk through our garden of socks!
Two of our most bombastically blooming styles have only recently sprouted on our site. The Flower Field Arm Warmers are a soft wool blend perfect for this mutable season with their length that looks just as great scrunched shorter. The Full Bloom Printed tights (in two sizes!) are a great opaque leg-covering layer that really pop in that springtime sun.
This is just a bit of the bouquet of flowery goodness we’ve got! I just checked and we have floral styles involving literally every colour except neon (oh man, we need to remedy that!), so even if you’re not normally into florals, check it out! You might find your perfect flower.
Spring is most definitely in the air (goodness knows us folks with allergies know it!) and National Wildflower Week is a great way to celebrate! Even though it’s almost over, take a gander at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center’s list of ideas on how to make the most of what’s left of the week!
Of course, wildflowers will still be there after this week is over, and so will our floral styles. Even if you don’t have a green thumb, you can still bedeck your toes with flowers!
