One of the greatest little secrets about Portland, OR is that it is home to a large number of comic book writers, artists and publishers. Dark Horse comics and Oni Press employ many fine Portland residents; Portland also has a multitude of independent comic book creators. Many of these artists will be in attendance at Rose City, along with special guest stars (Richard Hatch from the original Battle Star Galactica), pod casters, game shops, comic books stores, Portland's favorite dorktastic band The Double Clicks,  and other geek organizations.

Rose City Comic Con. co-creator, and a good friend of yours truly, Ron Brister, explains the mission statement on their web site: Rose City Comic-Con has the very simple goal of creating a low cost, family friendly event that will appeal to a broad audience. Rose City Comic-Con is a comic convention at heart but with a focus on the art of Popular Culture, Gaming, Sci-Fi, Comics, and so much more. The intent is to provide access for fans to media guests, artists, writers, and vendors. In addition, Rose City Comic-Con will run many interactive sessions during the two day event that will cover topics of film, comic design, writing, and maybe even feature a musical act!

We will be vending geek themed socks, as well as discounted Dream Stocking brands between the Geek in the City and Chronicles of the Nerds pod cast booths.

Passes are still available for this awesome even, please go to the RCCC web site for more information on where to get yours and join us for what will no doubt be the beginning of a seriously epic convention.
