Trick or Treat!

Chimera warmers
…just yesterday Mr Natosi & I argued over whether or not it is cool to send candy to strangers. I’m not saying I don’t think it’s a great idea and I know some do it and it is received with extreme glee, it just isn’t a liability I want to take on, so instead I am offering you, our beloved Sock lovers, friends, family & fans a chance to get these
~ ::((( tasty handmade hand warmers )))::~
of which we have only a small and limited supply of…

Cut up your socks!

We here at Sock Dreams have been cutting up socks for years. It’s a great way to add new life to damaged socks and tights and it’s surprising how few things unravel upon being cut, not that we guarantee that most socks won’t unravel but we sure can attest to many that won’t. So when Ozone came out with their Cut-Up Jambière I had to bring them in, if for no other reason to encourage everyone with a creative spark to try this. They even give you guidelines…

Our own talented Flaura has done really cool things with our Lemonade stockings for our little shop here in Portland (I was just sure I had pictures of her creations, but I can’t find them, sorry ’bout that!). She’s done neat stuff with other socks she’s modified too so I let her pick her color and give these a try…

Hand warmers, knee warmers, toe-less anklets and a bracelet, quite cute! she’s wearing them over grey tights and highly recommends cutting along the straight lines, much fraying occurred where cut through the pattern, but no unraveling.

Getting Warmer

These are my favorite new warmers!!!
the colors make me happy every time I see my hands
I love the green bits running through them and have been grabbing this pair every day now that a chill has hit the Northwest. I can pull these all the way past my elbows but usually keep them down on my forearms and find myself wearing them nearly most of the time, inside & outside.
Made for Sock Dreams in the USA…
this is just the beginning.

Introducing Polonova!

Last month a local woman contacted Sock Dreams telling my staff of her lovely wares and asking if we were interested. Bsti intercepted an email with her link and told me I really needed to see them. No, I don’t need to see any more must have socks right now, we already have more coming than I can possibly manage sanely, but curiosity always gets me and sure enough, they’re awesome!

So I wrote her and we met and I ordered and she screen printed, resulting in a lovely assortment arriving as our starter order. Now, as I mentioned, I am swamped (just the way I like it btw, but I am forever overestimating how much I can accomplish in a day) so I decided they’d be store only til we catch up and can get them all properly photographed. But I just know some of you are going to love them!

Here’s the basic information: the knee highs are made in the US, nylon trouser socks, then they are screen printed by hand with the best patterns I have seen, every edge is perfect, no weird gaps or overlaps. The colors are black with silver or gold and red, maroon, brown & olive with black (swirls only on the colors).
The wrist warmers are soft yummy velvet with a mehndi pattern screen printed on in copper (as specially requested by me because it looked awesome and I didn’t want to bother with silver & gold).

So, if you are brave and willing to play a little game with me, I’m going to let you buy them with the catch that you can only suggest a color and we’ll choose the pattern and send them off to you with a wink and a smile.

Rainbows & Sunshine

I don’t usually take sock shots in the sunlight, but when I woke up two Sundays ago to a bright sunny morning I decided to give these pretty new knee highs a shot in the sun. We’ve been getting some really pretty stripes lately and I can never pick favorites so I wore one of each of these with one of each of the new Dreamy Knees

it made me happy all day

That afternoon, after staying up late the night before finishing a batch of Strange Monster arm cozies for us Rene & her partner Cameron dropped off what would become our last batch of these beloved cozies.

a few days later we learned she passed away the very next day.
A sadness fell over us that was hard to shake. I’d barely gotten to know her in the past few months since we’d met as we mostly exchanged emails and talked briefly during her drop offs. We were about the same age and I loved that she wore pigtails too.

If you own a pair of her cozies treasure them forever because she really did make each and every one of them herself. If you don’t own a pair you best grab some while we still have some. Today it’s grey and we’re finally going to get some rain…
so here’s to the rainbows and sunshine to come.

Lovely colours in chenille warmers

The Microfiber Chenille Leg Warmers now have two new fabulous colours: Peacock and Plum! And they also have matching arm warmers too! These are wonderfully soft and squishy. They fit snugly against your leg or arm, but aren’t too tight as they’re really stretchy too. They’re the softest chenille I’ve ever encountered. I like to wear the leg warmers on my arms as I wash my hands alot during the day & I can quickly push them up.

I love these warmers so much I bought almost all the colours! They only cost $10 a pair for the leg warmers & $13 for the arm warmers. Such a small price for something so exquisitely joyfull to touch.

As an aside, out of necessity I have to do my laundry in one big load, instead of sorting colours and doing many smaller loads. Last time I washed some new clothes and my pink and camel warmers picked up all the colour from the wash and now they are both grey. I don’t know if this is something peculiar to them or not, but just thought I’d share in case any of you have those rockin’ mono-load-laundry skills like I do. ;)

Tabbisocks!

I’m betting you’ve noticed the exciting new Tabbisocks stuff we just got in!

Morty likes to help!

No, Morty, I didn’t say tabby socks. These are not for you! Yes, you’re very cute, I’ll pet you later.

All we need is music!

When we got these in, I quickly volunteered for the job of photographing and testing them. Piano socks! I’d always been sad that we knee-high lovin’, small-footed ladies had no equivalent to the Men’s Making Music Midcalves, but now the wait is over. These are absolutely adorable. If you have a song in your heart, why not on your legs as well? These will stay up for a million years and never fall down, even if you’re the one dancing rather than playing.

But I won’t lie. These were not my favorites of our recent batch of Tabbisocks. It’s time I admitted it; I’m not just a sock lover. In fact, my love for socks is nearly equalled by my love of…

COLORS YAY

ARMWARMERS! Oh, how I love them! You simply cannot imagine the wonderfully delicate texture of the Steampunk Armwarmers, or the rich jewel tones of the Harajuku Ribbed Armwarmers. And as you can see, they layer together for even more amazing style and fun. I’m reasonably certain that any combination of these ruffles and ribs will look absolutely stunning. Of course, you don’t have to take my word for that! You are quite welcome to buy every single color of each and test all the possible combinations. (This is, in fact, my plan.)

Even little Morty liked my new armwarmers, or at the least deigned to accept petting while I wore them.

“I still think they should make socks for tabbies.”
