Nine Years Online & A New Shop

Nine years ago I started selling socks online…
just me and a dream selling a few pairs of socks a week
as the years went by I needed more & more help
first my sweetie, then some former coworkers & many sock dreamers who have become some of my closest friends followed. Last year we finally opened a store in front of our warehouse to test the waters. Despite the location being a challenging destination and the spot being tiny it has been a huge success so we are relocating, just the store, to a way better spot a few miles further down the road…

I’ve been working from home this month, still taking time to take pictures of socks being worn by my fellow dreamers, but mostly being lazy & enjoying long walks.
Our site designer Olivia came and stayed with us for a couple of weeks and while she was here we went on a book quest in Sellwood where an old red caboose houses a great bookshop called Looking Glass Books (a Wonderland reference, right? I know!) afterwards I headed to the Ugly Mug to get some ginger lemonade (which totally rocks!) and spotted a for rent sign in front of a sweet little Victorian house. Right away I was texting one of my girls “I know we weren’t gonna move this late in summer, but we’ve got to see this one” or something much like that and sure enough, we saw it, we loved it and we now have the keys! September 15 is opening day, our current store will only be closed for a couple of days for the move and online business will continue undisturbed for the entirety because SDHQ is staying put, all of our online inventory, customer service and warehouse will remain right where it is, getting sock orders ready with lightening speed each and every day.
It looks like our new site will start testing shortly and should be totally live by that date as well! It’s going to be a huge celebration!!!
