Thanks for all of the wonderful suggestions. I think I'm going to try a variety and see what works best--and it will give me an excuse to sock shop!

And yes, I wear the wool blends in the summer in the deep and dirty south, so I can assure you that they work. :)

Jennifer, I would say that it depends on your dance shoes and your preferences, but the Toe Toes are thin, comfy, and feel like they aren't even there once you get them on. I tried them for rollerskating and didn't like the small amount of width that they added to my already-wide toe spread, so that's something to consider. I honestly hate all-cotton socks, as they absorb sweat, but then what? I end up with sweaty socks on my feet all day. I go for synthetic blends (all the K Bell are nice) and wool blends (Hot Sox ftw) to wick the sweat away and then allow it to disperse better. Bamboo, too, is awesome. :) Best of luck!

I'd try the Bobby Socklings. Thin, stretchy cotton, and should be great for dancing. I'm no tap dancer, but I tend to wear my old Hot Socks roll-top crews when I go out swing dancing since they're so soft and comfy; I don't think we have them anymore, but the Bobby Socklings seem pretty close.

Hey Jennifer! Some snug, sleek sock options are any of the Polonova trouser socks. They'll be snug, durable, and thin enough to dance in. Plus they're soooo pretty! Some of our B.ella trouser socks like the Lena would be another good bet. If you want a shorter sock, I wonder if the Silk Ballerina Toes would work? The toes keep the sock securely on your foot, and silk is a fantastic fabric for keeping feet cool. The Bobby Socklings are a bit thicker, but they fit snugly on most feet, and they're a cute, simple sock.

I'll be interested to hear if any dancers have tried our socks and what styles they prefer, but I think these styles would be great ones to try! Happy tapping! <3

hey there Jennifer. well, i'm not a dancer but my gut says stay away from socks with a high synthetic content. Higher natural content would keep your feet cooler and drier and cause less slipping or friction in your shoes. There is a "cotton" category in the drop down menu that will give you lots of options; short, long, toe socks...

Any Tap dancers out there? :)

I'm sure a knowledgeable Dreamer will answer your question, but I must insist that one should never let their food slide around in their socks. In fact, I wouldn't recommend putting food in your socks at all! :)

I'm a new Facebook fan--just signed up not too long ago and I have to say I love it.

If I can go off topic for just a minute--I'm in need of sock suggestions. I need a sock for tap dancing. My shoes fit pretty snug, so it can't be too bulky, and it needs to fit fairly snug too so my food doesn't slide around in the sock causing rubbing. It it could be supportive--that would be a bonus. Are there any dancers out there that can help?

Thanks so much!
