The 100 Inch Sock

super-rouched-black-300
Not every one wants socks this long, but those who do really want them. Getting them made for us is a whole’nuther story so availability has been sporadic at best.
I am pleased to announce that we will be able to get them again in the near future and will be getting pretty good sized batch of them. So I have to ask you all a question, besides white and black, what color or colors might you want to get your 100 inch socks in? Me? I’m thinking a really pretty blue, kind of like sky blue, some here have suggested pink or purple and, of course, grey is always a favorite. They will be cotton, and as you can see from the image of our sample above, they will ruche superbly!

    just WOW!

  2. Ed Says:

Oh Nooooo! How is that sock ever going to fall down enough to show a little leg!??

  3. Mark Says:

Maybe you could get these in red or brown.

  4. mstargaryen Says:

    ooo, the blue sounds lovely.

  5. T-Rex Says:

Not sure if I will buy them, but if I did, I would love a deep, dark red. Plum is always good, too.

  6. shelleopard Says:

I know I’m preaching to the choir when I say this: leaf/moss green!

  7. B. Says:

I am with T-Rex on deep-dark-red, and I am always in favor of grey. My personal hope is always that there will be more rich teal/peacock options, too. *crosses fingers*

  8. Misa Amane Says:

A nice denim blue would be fantastic

  9. Cheryl Says:

Besides greys, I would vote for dark red or brown. As for greens, I’m more in the olive side, but I think I’d push the dk. red or brown before the green. However, it should be said that I doubt that I would get a pair. So, are they like the Super Basics, instead of the Super Ms?

You know what color I’ve been thinking of lately? Something like a dark mauve, maybe a tad bit more purple, but still with that hint of pinkish-brown. But that’s totally random and has nothing to do with this entry. lol

And while I’m at it, can I just say that those new tie-dyed fingerless gloves look amazing?! I’m getting tempted to purchase a pair…
The only thing stopping me is that I’m not quite certain about the color combos yet–don’t get me wrong, they’re coming out beautiful! It’s a question of whether I’d wear them, whether they’d fit in with the rest of my wardrobe. I might just wait a little to see what else Eric comes up with. (I like the fuchsia swirls, but I think fuchsia is too bright for me. EC red & orange are lovely, too, and the purple, blue and green.)

By the way, since I’m on the topic, what’s the “EC” for in the “EC Red & Orange” and “EC Purple, Green & Blue”?

  10. Cheryl Says:

Oh, and Ed, don’t you worry, I’m sure those socks will still allow some slippage to show a little leg for ya! ;D

  11. michelle Says:

Oooh, luxe! I lub them. They look delicately sheer and badass all at the same time! ;) As far as colors go, I also say an olive-y green/moss/loden would be awesome (since you already mentioned grey) hee.

  12. Faete Says:

I’m not sure what colour.. But out of curiosity, are these opaque? Or are they thinner.. It’s kind of hard to tell from the picture.

  13. T-Rex Says:

They look a bit sheer to me, which ups the sex appeal.

  14. niqkita Says:

They are mostly opaque, but get a little sheer when stretched, though they stretched fabulously and we think they will fit up to 23 inches at the tops easily.
There was another choice that was more sheer, but we liked this one best, I’d say it is close to the hot socks thigh highs in texture, kind of t-shirt like, a light t shirt.

    EC = Electrical Current }{}{}{}{}{}{}

  15. Cheryl Says:

    EC, ahhh.
And more combinations already?! Stop tempting me!! ;P The navy & taupe crews are lovely; I’m digging that color combo. Yay for local artists! =D

  16. Jess Says:

I would loooove those in a lovely leafy green. But I also agree that a lucious dark red would be nice.

  17. Marin Says:

Port Wine or a dark, steely grey would be lovely. I bet it would be promising in teal, too.

  18. jacade Says:

    A rich teal/green color. That’d be fabulous.

  19. nicole Says:

    red!!

  20. Ed Says:

Thanks Cheryl. But I doubt they will slip the 97 inches needed to expose a little leg! :) But thanks for thinking of me!

  21. niqkita Says:

Wow! sorry you guys, I didn’t realize there were so many comments in moderation this weekend. Great suggestions all!!!

  22. delijay Says:

How much will these cost when they come out?

  23. niqkita Says:

Actual cost still to be determined but I do know that it will be more than $30 and less than $40…

  24. Brighton Gay Clubs Says:

I bet it would be promising in teal, too.

  25. Brighton gay pubs Says:

I also agree that a lucious dark red would be nice.

  26. Bekah Says:

Grey! and I have to agree with Misa Amane ~ Denim Blue would be superb! (So would a sky or royal blue.) Looking forward to them whatever colors are finally chosen.

  27. star Says:

I still have my pink ones and they are still my all time faves….

  28. Sena Says:

Dark red or Grey would be lovely. With such a unique sock I feel like versatility is crucial otherwise when putting together a matching outfit you’d have to consider both how unusual its length and look is AND the color. And I believe that reds, greys, or browns are much easier to match with a standard wardrobe than deep/striking blues or greens. But may be that’s just me.

  29. niqkita Says:

Okay, dark red seems to be the overwhelming fav here followed by a fairly even vote for teal, blue, grey & green so I will now sit with the color book and my pen and get this order in writing. It will take at least a month and when they are in I’ll be showing off the results right here in the journal. Many MANY thanks for all the great feedback on these!!!

  30. elyse Says:

These look amazing! I’d keep it simple – black, grey, ha. I’ve been wanting some ruched leggings lately and I bet these would be even better!

  31. Bliney Says:

Something about your sock shoe combos kill me – where did those darling little mules come from? Sock+Mule=KO!

  32. niqkita Says:

years ago I found those, where I forget, it might have been during my Goodwill addiction, or perhaps the Ebay days.

We have much fun deciding which shoes to wear with which socks
