Happy Everything!

Regardless of what you celebrate and which days you celebrate it we hope you are warm and cozy with your favorite socks and people and critters.
All of our employees will be off December 25th.
…returning, weather permitting, Friday morning.
My little gift to you all is my favorite bread pudding recipe, from one of my favorite cookbooks acquired during my years at Powell’s Cookbook Store on Hawthorne. I make two versions because some love raisins and coconut and some prefer neither but love chocolate. Everyone seems to like it…

I use whatever bread is handy, a loaf of French from the bakery at QFC this time, I tear it into chunks rather than slice it and pour the melted butter over the chunks tossing to coat them instead of brushing one side as the recipe calls for, this way there is no buttered side up or buttery brush to clean. I usually prep it the night before and leave it in the fridge covered overnight ready to stick in the oven while the coffee brews in the morning. Enjoy!!!!!!!!
…and, if you don’t have one of these, I highly recommend you get one:

Homemade whipped cream without the splatters!

P.S. The new Acrylic Fingerless Gloves are *awesome*. I love their thick sweateriness, their bagginess and scrunchability, and they have kept my usually cold hands and wrists wonderfully warm. This has motivated me to be sure to get a pair of the Fingerless Arm Cozies, too!
