Getting Warmer

These are my favorite new warmers!!!
the colors make me happy every time I see my hands
I love the green bits running through them and have been grabbing this pair every day now that a chill has hit the Northwest. I can pull these all the way past my elbows but usually keep them down on my forearms and find myself wearing them nearly most of the time, inside & outside.
Made for Sock Dreams in the USA…
this is just the beginning.

LOL Amanda!
Btw, I know you guys will virtually slap me on the wrist but I, umm, modified my Longer O Chevrons and thought I’d share if others had the same problem.
I just got the longer version for the first time. And just as you warned, they reach very high but with little top stretch, so my 18in thighs were painfully pinched. But the problem seemed to come mostly from the very last elastic-y string finishing the very tops of the songs. I know it’s there for a good reason but I cut it. No unraveling or other disaster thus far, and MUCH improved comfort. Although I haven’t washed them yet. Still, I think it’s worth the risk. I might even get more colors because the chevron stitching makes them look like crochet and it’s totally sexy and adorable.

Neat fix, Sena! I don’t think anyone is going to slap you on the wrist for making your socks more comfortable. :)

…In fact, I totally advocate the cutting of socks! have had great success with it myself and at least one of our in-house Dreamers has found it to be a great solution and fun fix. We even have a crazy new style from Ozone that just arrived that has instructions for cutting and uses for the extra bits…

Cutting socks, yes…Niqkita knows well that I used O Chevrons as a layer of padding beneath the arm brace that I wore for a time, and I also tend to cut that last elastic band off of pantyhose. :)
I also am currently using two pieces of cut-up Ozone Zebras as armbands (I needed compression sleeves for scar treatment)! The zebras were a bit too tight on my large feet, but are still so lovely that I couldn’t send them away!
I think we’d all much rather socks be repurposed or reconstructed than left to linger sadly in your drawer. ;)

Great warmers. I love the purple ^^ As a trans planted north easterner in the north west, I don’t get as cold, but would love to have a pair just because ^^

you know i remember hearing somewhere that the Chenille arm warmers were going to be re-offered this year with all the fingerholes instead of just the thumb….is there any truth to that or should i just go for the Harajuku arm warmers?
October 14th, 2008 at 11:01 am
We were hoping for it to be true, but so far no sign of them, we’ll chalk another vote for soft fuzzy stuff with fingerholes though…

I’m a big fan of cutting up clothes. I had a pair of brown socks that I cut off the toes and heals of and used to wear with a strappy pair of sandles. It gave them a funky gladiator look.
I used to keep cut off knee high cotton socks in the pocket of my car door to wear on my arms as protection from the summer sun.
I had a favorite pair of skinny leg jeans that I hated to part with so I cut off the legs and after 20 years I still wear them as leg warmers.
Once I cut one bell bottom off a leg of a pair of jeans and wore that as a cowl neck. I guess that was just too silly though. Sometimes I can’t distinguish between my sense of fashion and my sense of humor.

These are great! I did get a pair of the purple. I took a chance to visit the store on Saturday, and was not dissapointed, tho I was a bit under the weather. You gals rock for helping me out, thank you ^^

I just received my latest order – I adore the new wool Cronerts, and the thigh highs, and the EG Smith over the knees, and…..everything else I’ve ordered lately.
But……is there a twelve step program for socks? Because I think I’ve got a problem……
December 14th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
The world doesn’t have enough socks and some of the best seem to be at sock dreams. Yes, it’s an investment, but I recall having spent as much at certain department stores on either similar styles like Betsey or out of desperation, that famed designer label that uses lots of pink, and velour tracksuits with words on the rear end.
I want more Cronert. I want a new skirt to wear with OTK’s. This is becoming a new fashion foray for me.

Cronerts crazy cool in grey Ozelot. Money well spent; think of certain hosiery brands in dept. syores, prices. Here is better selection.

Can’t wait til my Cronert Simone “sleeves” get here because I always buy specialty t’s short sleeved. Am going to recommend this approach for t’s if it works out so people will know where to find such things.Dying to order something else.
