Through the Looking Glass with Socks

Or leg warmers as the case may be.
Among the many things I am grateful for are my neighbors
and their amazing garden…

They have twice as many dogs as we do and seem to walk them constantly when they are home. When they are away I sometimes sneak over with my camera and take advantage of the little oasis they have created over the years.

Now, when I say sneak I mean away from Lola who hates to be left out of anything involving going outside, and she knows very well that cats and squirrels frolic over there in the absence of dogs.

Indeed our neighbors know all about my adventures among their maples…

and bamboos…

and were more than happy to see their garden show up in an ad in Bust and the Willamette Week’s finder’s guide to Portland 2008-2009.

and so, now you too know where I wander off to, my camera and I.
and soon there’ll be a whole slew of new items among the maples & bamboo.

What beautiful pictures. Love the last shot as it reminds me of the fall. My favorite time of year.

  7. niqkita Says:

Aw, thanks all! …yes, that last shot actually is from last fall, but is also the image in our WW Portland finder ad and a personal favorite of mine.
The kitty is one of three that often show up and is by far the friendliest, it comes up and starts nuzzling my ankles and plops right down next to my stuff, tripod and all. >^..^<

just noticed in the first pic – looks like you are a Bzzzz Bee heading for some yummy flower!

  12. Brandy Says:

I would like to see a close up of the O nubbies.

  13. niqkita Says:

I’m probably going to post a review on the O Nubbies this weekend because we love them! Since we just have the one color and they fit different legs with such varying results I wanted to show that in the image.
…but I have more shots, larger versions and we’ll get ‘em shown off more thoroughly shortly…

  14. Amanda Says:

I’ve got a closeup shot here if you like. They’re really adorable.

  15. Amanda Says:

I am apparently bad at closing html tags.

  16. Rebeckah Says:

Those are so great! I totally loved the confetti look when I first saw them, but I swore to myself not to buy that particular manufacturer again, so I am thrilled to see an OTK from Sock-Dreams! I’m sure these will stay up better! I just hope the stock holds out until I can get an order in.?

  17. Amanda Says:

We’ve got a fair amount, so you should be able to get a pair, no worries. :)

  18. Alice Says:

OK. That is the best squirrel-shot I’ve ever seen, hands-down.
