Lost Sock Memorial Day

You loved them and then you lost them…
those missing socks that never came out of the dryer to meet up with their partner.
I myself have an area on the counter where we fold clothes covered with lonely single socks awaiting their long lost companions. I leave them there hoping it will be in the next pile we bring down to wash, and every so often they get moved to a box where I have accrued a sad amount of singles. Where do they all go? plenty of theories abound but I’ve yet to learn a proper explanation. I once heard that it was the basket in upright washers, during the spin cycle random socks would somehow jump ship hoping to find a new world full of hope and adventure, so I got a front loader, but my socks still vanish. Where have they gone? Our very own Amanda, sock dreamer extraordinaire and official Dream Stockings coordinator envisioned it well in the image above. A slew of sock goblins wreaking havoc on our innocent socks, chewing on their heels, tugging at their toes and cuffs, wearing them for hats, running off with them to who-knows-where. Never to be seen again…
Now there is an official day to mourn these lost socks and today, May 9th, is it. But rather than being sad over what is no more, we suggest you by some new socks, lots of them, so many you will never miss a lost sock again.
Thanks to everyone who took advantage of our Lost Sock deal!
The sale is officially over now, the code has been expired…
You’ll all have your new socks very soon!!!

I long ago heard that when you get to heaven, the first thing you do is go to a room where you get back all of your missing socks, all of your lost balloons, and all of your spare change…

I want that pile of mismatched socks!!!
Never in 3 years have I worn matching socks. I just don’t. I love wearing 2 that have the same colors and different texture of length, or same style almost exactly but different colors together. In my collection of a few hundred pairs of socks(or individuals, which don’t dissapoint me in the least) it’s easy to match the mismatched socks interestingly.
Socks are such a wonderful obsession. =^-^=

My father is a physicist, and he came up with a quantum sock theory once. Broadly (very broadly, because I’m an English grad!), the washing machine/dryer acts like a giant version of the box in the Schroedinger’s cat experiment, and your socks both exist and don’t exist, until the point where you open the washer and fix them in space-time. Unfortunately, all the socks are very slightly out of phase with one another, so often when you open the washer and fix them in space-time, one is left in a state of non-existence…

Too bad I misses this, since “lost sock day” is also my birthday. Oh well.
When I was a kid, my mom and I made a bundle of single socks as an offering to the “Sock God” and placed it above our washing machine. We rarely lost a sock after that.

Oh man, I wish I had of known about this. Of course, I made an order week before last, but I’m sure another one wouldn’t have hurt. I wish we could receive email newsletters from you guys.

yeah, for sure we will do an opt-in email list one of these days. And when we do I promise not to load your email boxes with frequent and redundant nonsense.

Here I thought I checked the website frequently enough to hear about a sale! A newsletter via email would be fabulous as to not miss those cool sales. Awesome drawing too-do I see something on the underside of it or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

I had a teacher in high school who told me his washer line going out to the sewer had become clogged with tons of socks which had been sucked out of the washer and down the drain. I suspect many a sock is lost this way.
