Tasty Socks

I’m not a fan of novelty socks. Reps rarely even show them to me anymore…
they’re there if I want to look and sometimes I do. They seem to appeal to a certain and rare mood I have and I had such a mood last week while I perused my K.Bell catalog. The Baking Day crew socks stood out from the colorful crowd on the pages I usually skip right past. I saw them and felt sudden joy. What do I love nearly as much as socks? baking! While working at Powell’s cookbook store I was in charge of the baking and related dessert-like book sections and would marvel over being paid to organize and order such a fun grouping of books. That was in the early days of my sock dreaming, long before employees, ‘back in the day’ I could fulfill all the sock orders and work a full time job that was a dream in itself.

I had my props ready days before the socks actually arrived and despite having literally dozens of new goodies to shoot and show you I managed to get these done, old style, just me and my camera at home. The rest of the girls and guys at Sock Dreams headquarters will be helping me with the rest of the new styles soon ~everything from equally goofy novelty-like styles to lace-trimmed anklets & awesome new leg warmers & tights & more. What’s the hold up? we are having quite a week here, I rearranged some schedules causing the natural re-adjustment period topped by not one, but two employees having family emergencies to attend to. And so it goes…

These are adorable. :) I can’t wait to get a pair. Hope everyone’s OK with all those emergencies…

Those are just adorable! Definitely on my list.
I have one quick question and one comment.
I noticed in one of the last posts that the new industrial garter belt will hold up the thicker socks–is this the only garter belt that you carry that will do so?
Also, I’m a little late in saying this, but I just have to compliment your staff in their outstanding customer service. Awhile back I placed an order that got overlooked. I sent an email inquiring about it and almost no sooner had I done that when I received an email from y’all assuring me that you were taking care of it. I even received a personal phone call and an email to make sure I received just what I wanted. The package was shipped priority that day. This is simply a wonderful example of a company that really cares about its customers and will go out of the way to make them happy. That really does mean alot–especially in a day and age when things can be so impersonal. Thank you so much for your outstanding caring attitude and ethics. My socks are off to you (and then quickly put back on, because who can do without them!)
Keep up the excellent work!

Many thanks!!! appreciation and recognition all make a job well done worthwhile and truly meaningful.
..and yes, they are the only garter belt that currently holds thicker styles. I guess I was just waiting til we got a little more feedback as the one problem I do see is in the damage it may do to the knit at the tops of the socks. We are working harder than ever on a few more options too, including the surprisingly elusive genuine men’s sock garter…

This is off topic.
But, one problem I have is that I don’t delay satisfaction. When I can not have what I want I get little things in between. This time however I will not be purchasing the Kalana Wool Crochet Tights that I want cause there is something bigger I want in the future. Save &20’s and you’ll have hundreds. Right?
Well I want a camera. A nice one. So no indulgences for me for a while. For now I will be happy with the codori ones I have. I may miss a few things in the next few months but, I will have to tell myself it’s for the greater good. Maybe the Kalana Wool Crochet Tights will be there when I have the money? Right? Any way I have some jewels to get me through this time of sacrifice.
The Kalana Wool Crochet Tights are in stock now. So, don’t get scared. Back to work now.

Oh, please, oh please tell me wear those adorable knickers/bloomers came from that are in the photo of the Sock-it-to-Me ice cream cone socks.
All my life I’ve loved knickers and the older I get the harder they are to find (much less bloomers!!)

Soon there will be cows and pigs and frogs and kisses and…
Leopards!!!

We managed to get lots of pictures done the past few days, I’m blessed with days of editing ahead of me, wait til you see our latest acquisition soon to show up as the background for many haught shots ahead…
But today, my one full day away from the warehouse and my office and it is like spring outside for the first time in months, so will I be sitting here at my work table for long? probably not ~=)
