Looking back, looking ahead and catching up

Sock Dreams winter ad
It’s just about done, the online holiday rush.
We’re still restocking as we can but I am holding off til the dust settles for some stuff. That and various supplier warehouses are taking a week or more off at either the end or start of the year so there’ll be no more Leg Avenue til sometime in January and I have to have all our B.ella, Nouvella, EG Smith & 2 Brothers Organics in tomorrow before their 3 week break starts. Sourpuss came in today along with a few backordered items from Tabbisocks like the super cute over the knees with lace ties above. This image is the winter ad for Bust & Bitch, but sadly, after weeks of waiting, we got the last of what they had including mostly hot pink lace and neon purple lace ~pictures to be taken in the next day or so. It’s sure to slow down any minute now… And when it does we get to start trying on more new socks and getting them added because we have just about sold out of everything new I’ve added for the past month with our ability to restock in Nov/Dec limited at best.
As noted on our home page and on shipping info
Time’s running out if you are aiming for the 25th to exchange gifts
Please upgrade your shipping method accordingly, preferably at the time of check out
All US orders $40 & up still qualify for a free upgrade to priority handling & shipping
2 day express orders all cost $22 (within the US of course)
Zappos is still offering free overnight shipping
how they do it I do not know
what I do know is we do not do it
that and if you have a really silly email address, it’s time you knew
we will probably laugh when we see it on your invoice, yes, it’s true
and all those goofy gift notes, we see those too.
What we don’t see is anything you write in a ecard
no sir, we have no way of seeing a single word of it,
I thought it best to keep that between you and your recipients
And, in case you weren’t sure…
you can buy as many of those ecards as you like, have them mailed to yourself
print them up on any paper you like, plain or fancy, with or without a cute note
and give them away within minutes without even leaving home!

About the future…
Olivia, my beloved friend and web designer is designing a fantastic new site for us.
Developer Dan is hard at work on the coding to not only make the new site work but transform the current one into this amazing new design with all the features you crave & expect in a modern website. We’ve also been working with the amazing Echo X who is creating our logo. I wish so much that I could give you all a peek at what I’ve seen, but I cannot so you must wait. We should know an approximate date for completion of this project in a couple more weeks. Of course I was hoping for sooner, but isn’t it always the way? Brigid and I are going to start working on the physical store in the coming weeks & months too. Just what we come up with and when we let people shop in it is still undecided, we’re generally aiming for springtime. Springtime, when everything starts turning green again and we’ve all dug ourselves out of our winter wonderlands.
…Til then, cozy toes and dreamy socks!

    What a lovely post Niq!

Im just getting so impatient for the new site in all its lovely gorgeousness and of course the logo… ohhh yumm! Its going to be so delicious and so worth the wait. Echo’s work is breathtaking - definitely worth clicking on that link and checking out her work. You might even recognise a few of her pieces.

Of course I meant to mention that Olivia did the ad above too ~:)

and I do not yet know if we can get any more of all those great Hot Sox. It is not looking good for the button up leg warmers, but I have a feeling we’ll see lots more stuff like that next year.

Happy Holidays to all of you beautiful sockie people!

wow, Echo is the living reincarnation of Alphonse Mucha I love him. What a nice post and the picture is just so pretty. All the big changes coming sound great. Your business is always changing, it’s exciting. :)

If you need a website tester, clicking around for broken links and stuff, let me know. I love window shopping your site.

I actually did find a couple of broken ones, such as the plaid armwarmers on the Tabbisocks page, although the link from the armwarmers page works fine. (I noticed because I keep checking back in hopes that the red/black/white combo will reappear.)

If you have a little extra to spend on yourself this Christmas the B.ella Niego is worth it based on the feel alone. I tried them on and it was like putting my foot into a cloud. I’m going home to chill and these will be my companion.

  8. Amanda Says:

I felt the same way when I finally tried the Niegos! Soooooo wonderful and squishy, even in shoes after wearing them all day.

  9. Amanda Says:

Also, I am SO EXCITED for all the pretty new things happening, you have no idea.

  10. Bob Cloud Says:

Yay yay YAY! I’m so excited! My latest order came in the mail today. I’m in Nova Scotia, so I didn’t think I’d get it until after Christmas, but I’m so glad I did! Now I can give those adorable mouse baby socks to my friend’s new little baby (whose nickname happens to be Mouse) and my arms are nice and comfy in my black fingerless gloves.
Yay! Thank you Sock Dreams! I love you, and you’ll definitely see more of me in the new year.

Can’t wait for the new site.
Any chance they’ll be a way to search by price? I noticed the need when I was trying to get stuff with my e-card.

  14. niqkita Says:

yes, it is on the very long list of features ~:D

    Brandy…
I was waiting to see if EG piped up, she is very busy, but last I heard she & Vel are well.

  17. Rebeckah Says:

Happy Anniversary Niq & Bsti, and Merry Christmas everyone. Lots of love all around to all you wonderfull sock peoples! xxooo

  18. Danielle Says:

Zappos does it by raising the price of the shoe to cover the shipping cost, then saying it’s free.

Their customer service is so good that I still deal with them, though.
