Psssst… quick… over here… shhhhhh!!!!…

Fall is coming!! fall is coming!! fall is coming YAY!! FANTASTIC SOCKS FOR FALL!!

shhhh … I mean it!!

Keep it down now …. cause once it gets out that THESE ARE SOOO fANTASTIC  everybody and their mother is going to buy multiple pairs and deplete the stock before I get more. Envision an old movie department store scene where people are grabbing anything, and mutiple tug’s of war breakout…  ”mine, mine, mine” “I had it first” “let go of my sock” “Unhand that thigh high you cad“  :O)

In my humble opinion… The Cronert Ribbed Wool OTK’s are one of the best OTK socks since the old longsocks (sigh… remember them?!). Grab handfulls of these, stock up your sock drawers cause you are going to want to wear these daily! And oh yea… it’s really nice that they are wool (not the itchy kind.. the soft breathable touchable kind), and it’s certainly lovely that they are made by Cronert, and it’s really super that they come in great colors (the olive is trying to seduce me) … BUT… It’s just freakin AWESOME that they feel so good, fit so good, and are just so DARN COZY!

The lightness of breathable wool was a wonderful surprise to me..

Now okay… you know I have to say it… I really could use a bit more length in them. That pretty little pattern change into the cable knit forms a line that starts at the top of my knee, so when I fold them over to cuff they just make it over my knees in length. I wish there was no pattern change line or that it started at least after my knee so that I could uncuff these and wear them as TRUE OTK’s (uncuffed as they are, I just don’t like that little line directly on my knee).

Cuffed…Still makes it just over the knee of this Longer and Larger sock lover…

The cable knit part reminds me very much of the well adored Diamond Rid knee highs (similar stretch and feel to me), I dreamed of getting those knee highs in a thigh high, now these gorgeous OTK Cronerts are the closet thing I’ve found to that sock dream and I’m near giddy with delight. These don’t stay up perfectly (while walking, mine just sort slid down and then happily stayed just under my knees… so sock garters may be a must for some). And as far as foot fit goes, the heels “just” made it to meet mine (I would have loved some extra wiggle room)… but truly these are close enough for me… I LOVE THESE SOCKS!

Cool fall breezes and cozy, cuddly, beautiful days are coming and these are just what the doctor ordered.

Mine mine mine….

shhh.

Stop tempting me! It’s bad enough that the red ones almost exactly match this sweater I just got….

  2. EG Says:

Sorry Amanda… can’t help it, these are REALLY great! I know.. I want the red ones too :O) actually I think I wish for these in EVERY color!

  3. Eva Says:

I love mine too, I have just been to busy working to have the time to write anything. On me dthey reach to mid thigh, but are a little tight at the very top, so I can’t pull them as high as they _would_ go.

Oh, EG…. why must you post such a delicious review of a sock I covet? I’ve been oogling these babies since they showed up on Sock Dreams… but the price tag and my lack of fundage has been keeping me away. *le sigh*

  5. Piperlou Says:

The ribbing on these is absolutely gorgeous. I have really sensitive skin so I have never even considered wool socks, but these may just be too much to resist!

Are these softer and/or warmer than the O Woolies?

  6. EG Says:

Eva I’m jealous… I want these to reach that high on me too!

Kay is it too early to start dropping hints to family about holiday gifts ;o)

Piper… If To me they do feel a bit softer than the O’woolies. The O’woolies feel thicker/denser to me but I don’t really know if thickness means more warmth in this case… and the Cronerts do seem to have more give/stretch. I think of these as soft and cuddly and in no way scratchy or rough.

My O’woolies shrunk even with gentle cold water wash – hang dry… they no longer fit my feet and are quite snug on my calves…. I wish they made them bigger to “shrink to fit”. This makes me nervous about washing my new Cronerts and would love to hear any tips you guys might have for less shrinkage in wool washing.

they did look comfy on the picture…but i only wear pink and white, and i didn’t see either of those colors available (except that offwhite-ish color) D:

We just restocked these before my days off and I was able to get pix added of the new colors last night. If I can catch up with all of this fall’s new stuff before winter I just might have to see if they can do any customizations to these since they are as nearly perfect as any socks we’ve tried ~:)

  9. EG Says:

    YAY!!! :O)

  11. Babylon Says:

wool… AHHHH! too hot!!! Can you tell it still feels like july here? hehe

  12. Jenn Says:

Awesome! And yes, I am going to have to go a bit sock insane over these! Must. Have. Now. Many pairs.

  13. michelle Says:

::want:: Beige is calling my name. LOL I want them baaaaad!

  14. EG Says:

I know… I’m not usually a big fan of the neutrals… but the beige on this looks really yummy……. and so does the olive, black, and brown, etc….. And have you seen the richness of the red?! OMG ;o)

  15. Annie Says:

    They’re beautiful! I was sold until I saw the 40% acrylic :( I’m allergic.

  16. niqkita Says:

That’s a bummer because acrylic works so well with wool since it doesn’t flatten out and lose its body the way cotton does when you sweat.
