O Lovelies, part one…

O lovelies, over or under the knees
We got one single sample sock of this style not too long ago. We passed it around, each of us trying that one sock on and cooing over how comfy & lovely it was, we knew it was a yes and naming it was easy. We asked for two sizes and sent off our first order. The larger footed version arrived first and, wow, what large feet you have my little lovelies! so big they were that our largest feet at a size 12 found them baggy! then the smaller version arrived and our size 12 could fit into them with ease, the problem was that the rest of us found them to be too large, especially on smaller feet. Here’s how they look on my size 8.5/9 feet, not bad, but not at all snug…

This is a pebble, before washing, I will be washing them tonight on high heat settings because I’ve been told this shrinks the feet down without changing the tops too much so I’ll be reporting back on this later. For now, we asked for a yet smaller size so that those with size 6ish feet can enjoy them too because we think these are wonderful and will be adding more images soon. They work well both over and under the knees, they look nice cuffed and are really cute scrunched, they have that great ripple effect like those hard to find (and harder to afford) Prada socks we were asked about so much last year. The O Lovelies are a light weave so are perfect for the warm months ahead, you can cover more or less of your legs as you like and not be overheated…
Yet another great addition for us sockaholics and addicts!

Oh wow, they are gorgeous up close. I will have to order a pair!

And I can’t resist asking: is it possible for the manufacturer to make them in thigh high?? Probably not, I’m guessing the cuff can’t go wider, but I *have* to ask.

  2. niqkita Says:

exactly, yes, the cuff has decent stretch, but not enough for happy thighs. They do, however, stay up over my knees impressively well. I’m on my second day of wearing the unwashed pair and they did not fall below my knees on my morning dog walk (fast paced, heavy steps) nor have they fallen since…

  4. Babylon Says:

I can’t wait for mine to come :) (rawr slow mail!) though I will probably need smaller-feeted ones lol

and a Happy Aboriginal Day to all! (that may just be a Canada thing though and everyone will say “what?”) :D

  5. Amanda Says:

Oooooo so pretty, but I will definitely have to wait for small feet. Same as I’m waiting on smaller footed super knees. :)

That single sample sock made it’s way to nyc too… Niq was lucky that she’d only had the one sock, had it been a pair I certainly would have had to confiscate them ;o)

It was wonderful!!! (though I wished for more length, but then again… I kinda always want everything longer)

I can’t wait to try wearing an actual pair of these… the texture MUST be experienced, it’s one of those love at first feel things.

  7. Babylon Says:

yay my sockies are here! My Dad took one look at the O Lovlies and said “those would fit my feet” lol they probably would too… the heel is sitting in ankle-territory *needs tinier lovelies* :)

I washed my medium pair in a hot wash with some towels last night, this morning I threw them in the dryer on the hottest setting. Just took them out and put them on, yes, the foot now fits me perfectly! and the yarn fluffed up just a bit too. I can’t wait til we get the smaller feet so everyone can feel the love in these!!!

I just got my order of every color (except for the white, I believe). They are SO beautiful! The texture is wonderful…almost like a gauze.

Perfect for summer, for sure. I have bigger feets for a girl (10) and the medium size worked well. Roomy, but well. My calves are also on the larger size, but the fit and length was really comfy and even a bit longer than expected! Perfect for the slightly slouched, “Prada” look everyone’s after.
    Hooray, hooray!

I shouldn’t have come here and read all the reviews of everyone loving their lovies. er.. lovelies (my daughter calls her baby blanket “lovey” and maybe I feel the same about my socks!!)

I want my lovelies. Do you think they will shrink to my foot. I’m all sad and stuff now.

    *sniff*

  14. niqkita Says:

They will come in more colors, they will!
And yes, mine shrank fine in the feet and we should have littler feet soon too!
