No, not thicker to be warmer, just thicker in the feet to make sure they last as long as the tops, but not to worry, I have been informed that the machine responsible for knitting these babies can only do them this one way ~:)

Uh oh. As I actually don’t want thicker at all because that means warmer and it’s always summer where I am, then should I order as many Super Basics as I can from the current batch before they get made thicker? P.S. We already have the Ribbed Ms and the Cuffables that are thicker… why do we need more of those? This should be put to a vote =(.

yes, they are different thicknesses in the different colors. At this point my best answer is thinner yarn is better than no yarn. Plus, the thicker yarn doesn’t always play well with the machines that make some of the different styles. I have been urging them to get the feet thicker on these if nothing else, but not a lot thicker…

YAY!! I LOVE my new Super Basics!! I can easily pull them up thigh high, they’re thin, so they’ll be wonderful in the warmer weather, and in the cooler, with stockings underneath, they’ll be fine.

The new ribbing on the tops looks great, too!!

I am curious about something in comparison to the M43s, because I have those in Charcoal, which I just got the Super Basics in. Is there a difference in the thickness of the yarn itself, since the M43s are heavier? And if so, why choose the lighter, thinner yarn? I’m just being curious and nosy. ;)

And the “mistake” nylon knee highs, they’re wonderfully OTK on me. And if I had super skinny legs, I bet I could even get them up to thigh high.

Actually, I think these have the possibility of being pretty darn perfect for sock lovers in my size range (as larger feet and longer length were the things the O'basics needed to work on me). It's exactly what I pined for when I wore and wrote about the O'basics. YAY!!! (Click here to see my original O'Basics review.)

Mary~ not many sage, but quite a few of the others, but don’t wait too long, everyone loves a clearance item and we don’t plan to carry these again, at least, we have no plans of that sort right now.

We’ll do these supers in each and every color we can, but we have to go slow right now, you know, summer, and…

Actually they were the sky blue O Pastels, I don’t think I have M43s in sky blue…*looks*… nope

Yay Babsie! I know you like them too.. I loved your pic of the sky{?} blue M43s with the white antoinettes. That is such a great look.

I’m glad the black Super Basics has dark toe thread. It looks funny to me to have a bright white seam across the toes. Especially if I’m dressed all in black. lol. I hope they’re not to so thin they’re crunchy. I have a pair of socks like that. I’d love to see lilac, that’s such a great colour & those wine shades of the Cronerts are phenomenal! More wine! 8-)

Regarding Portland, I for one think it’s the prettiest place in the whole world, but I’m terribly biased. When I move back (week from Monday YAY) I should take some socky pictures in Ladd’s Addition, where I live. It’s a gorgeous neighborhood, especially this time of year.
