swooning for short sweet spring striped sockies
Tucked into my last order was this pair of little pink striped socks (The Spring Striped Anklets in light rose and white). Now, I know you all think I live in a pink flat with a pink tinted dog and wear lots of pink things…. Yes, I love pink… yes, it is my favorite color, and yes my bedroom is shocking pink on pink on pink. But no… I really don’t wear pink everyday… mostly it’s worn at home in my lounge about clothes (which tend to be way more frou-frou than anything I’d greet the public in… think vintage slips, crinolines, etc.) or the occaisional ‘can’t help myself they are so cute’ pink or pink striped OTK socks (the dark red and fuchsia Mstripes… mmmm). And, as some of you know, I’ve only started to brave the outdoors in my pinks after our sock goddess used her powers on me and got me to start thinking out of the box (as I’ve always pretty much been a black on black, with a little olive… dresser). Even my mom was nearly fainting on her last visit here when she saw that there is now some color in my closet. And on her next visit now she’ll surely see little pink socks and more.
Anyway… back to these particular pretty little pink socks.
Sweet is the best word I can think of to describe them… sweet in a cute… cotton candy, flirty skirt, point your toes, put on a pair of those little white lace up sneakers and come ride the merry-go-round sort of way. I think they’d look adorable with a pair of black capri length leggings and ballet flats too.
In the eighties, a friend of mine used to wear lots of little socks like these with lacey white stockings, pink or white stilleto heels and form fitted pink suits and dresses. Anklets look so sweet with pumps, I’m nice to see the look being worn again.
That wonderful ‘innocent yet sexy’ thing… still works.
Personally, I think I will get the most use from mine indoors as comfy lounging socks. Cronert gets a standing ovation from me for giving this girl some toe wiggle room for my size 11’s (these fit perfectly, though those with thicker ankles/large heels might have a little squeeze from the cuff to get these over the heel).
I have not a peep of critiscsim for the way these delicious little striped treats feel fit and look on me … and I think that the black and white ones may just be begging to come home to my pink room.

WooHoo! I’m sooo glad they fit so nicely. Cronert is great at getting the sizes of the socks to fit nicely ~:)

Yes, I think I’m in love with Cronert now… I love that they are making socks to fit my feet!! I can’t wait to try the OTK’s!
Isn’t mom cute? :O) glad you enjoyed!
and I do miss the 80’s too… but I love that some of the wild stuff we wore back then is re-appearing again… yay for legwarmers, ankle socks with pumps, arm warmers, checkers, plaid, crinolines, etc,…and all that funk in it’s old school new wave/punk glory :O) weeeeeeeeeee

Speaking of cute pink things (ok, this isn’t related, but I want to share!) I just got my bubblegum O Yummies in the mail yesterday and they are yummy! I tried them on before bed and ended up sleeping in them (they stayed well up over my knees all night too!) I am so happy that they are just about thigh-high on me, as I was worried that they’d barely top my knees.
Today I’m wearing my new Super Dreamies in khaki and my legs feel heavenly!

Kay, I haven’t tried the OYummies yet, but I am in totally agreement about the Super Dreamies… They are such amazing socks!!! (even just the mention of them makes me want to go get them and put them on!)

EG,
I find that the texture of the O Yummies is strikingly similar to that of the Dreamies. They’re just a few inches shorter. Mmm… I think I’ll wear my Yummies tomorrow.

Oh that’s wonderful! I’ve been eyeing the carrot ones… but they are out of stock again (I guess that color is calling to everyone else too). My only worry with the Yummies was that I’d end up with knee socks instead of OTK socks… but I just love that carrot color so much… I think I’ll have to try.
