The wait is over!

O Woolies, how you’ve been longed for
yearned for, asked about, they’ve even begged for you and now
now the new O Woolies are finally ready to go home to warm the chilly legs of the world. One by one, toes will feel warmer, ankles will relax, calves will be calm and knees will be happy. Are they soft? yes. Do they itch? they didn’t itch us and Alicia and I have been testing these babies like crazy the past weeks during chilly weather and hard work. Are they warm? oh yeah, I really miss them if I take them off and can stand out side comfortably in shorts or a skirt. They are nice and stretchy and should fit well from slender to Rubenesque. They don’t stay up perfectly preferring to slouch down, we thought they looked nice that way and I made sure it shows in the pictures lest anyone think they should fit snuggley and stay up for a marathon, they won’t. They did stay up perfectly under tall boots though and would stay up well over tights if you want to layer up for a super chilly day or night. About the colors, they were the only choices we had and alot more choices than previous years, but just like before, we will run out of these, they are a limited run, maybe a few months worth at best so don’t wait too long or you might miss out. And finally, no Michelle, we won’t hate you if you order *again* this week ~;)

my only complaint is I couldn’t get that purple perfect, even white balance didn’t save me tonight because they look bluer under daylight and redder under incandescent lighting, but it’s still a great purple even if it doesn’t match my monitor, or yours, perfectly…

These look great! I’m drawn most to the cream color. Never tried the OWoolies before. Must add to the wishlist!

!! That magenta is absolutely gorgeous! I was merely seconds away from adding them to my wishlist before deciding that, no, I will need a pair of these much sooner than Christmas :).

I had heard the myth about the infamous O’Woolies, but they’re real..and that magenta is gooorgeous…..swooooon

Are they really 36 inches long? They look shorter in the photos.
December 14th, 2006 at 10:13 am
that’s the toe to cuff measurement, it’s closer to 26 from heel to cuff, and since they were slouching in most of the photos it makes them appear even shorter…

this is amazing because a few months ago i had a dream about having these awesome magenta overknee wool socks. i never asked you guys to get them, but i sorta hoped you would, and i’m SO GLAD you did. psychic much?

These look great! Alas, it doesn’t really get cold enough here to justify buying them. Although, I am about due for another sock order… maybe next month since my budget is tight around Christmas. =(

aw, I was reasonably happy with that navy shot, though admittedly, I’m doing alot of straight product shots right now just to expedite things rather than put them all on someone for shooting. The dark brown are just out of stock and since they were at the top of the list I deleted them so we could actually see a picture upon entering that page. They should be back soon and I’ll try and get a real picture of them ~:)

aha, now that I view it on a darker monitor I see what you mean. I edit on a nice bright TrueLife monitor so sometimes I can see things others can’t, which is way better than having it the other way around ~;)

Today I hesitantly broached the subject of another sock order to my dad. He was like, “Don’t you have enough socks already?” I nearly had a heart-attack. Enough socks?! You can never have enough socks! But anyway, the next time I order will probably be in February or something. This suuuccckkksss. I really want a pair of OTK tubes or Long Cuffables for January. My knees are going to be freezing, and I do have some joint problems I got from my aunt.

I have a question. In the picture, raspberry stripes of the Kelly/Raspberry N Stripes look really purpley, and the raspberry stripes on the Lime/Raspberry Sherbet stripes look really pinkish. Are these completely different colors? I’m still trying to abide my “No same colors” rule, and it’s so hard…

Oh gosh, thanks so much for the quick reply! I guess I’ll look at some other colors. :)

I got my B.ELLA BEV’S TODAY! THESE SOCKS ARE JUST AWSOME. Very comfy, thanks. On a deeper note. Hope they can get the Climbers down From MT. HOOD!

This week is nutz for me… but as soon as I get a moment I must put together a woolies review and RAVE! Truly surprised that I like the black pair I got as much as I do (I’m usually not a fan of wool next to my skin)… but these are GREAT!! I can’t wait for my little city here to get out of fall temperatures (I mean come on it’s Dec already!) so that I can wear them and enjoy their INCREDIBLE warmth!!!
December 17th, 2006 at 9:20 am
No kidding, EG!! It’s 50* here in Michigan!! I can’t wait to see your review and the *pictures* of course. ;D I will definitely have to get a pair of these sometime soon, as I think I need to start wearing warming garments on my legs, and if these are super soft, then yay! Did you wash them before wearing them, or just put them straight on? (And certainly, you can wait until the review to give details like that, but I am wondering about that.)

50 in Michigan?? I live in California and it’s 37 outside right now. *brr* Guess that means I get to justify buying these socks…=D
December 17th, 2006 at 1:37 pm
I washed mine first, they fluff up nicely after washing ~:)
December 17th, 2006 at 2:09 pm
Wash in cold and hang dry?
December 18th, 2006 at 7:04 am
I actually washed in warm on a gentle cycle for about 20 minutes then let them finish drying over towels. Cold water and hanging to dry would actually be best because too much heat & friction could cause them to felt…

OOOOOOO!!!! The RED Ribbed Ms having matching colored feet now!! That photo, they are so lovely! For some reason I have been suddenly craving to buy red thigh high socks, and I was thinking that it’s too bad I missed them in the M43s, and it’s too bad that they aren’t in the Cuffables, and I wasn’t really wanting them baggy, but NOW, I see the feet have been fixed on the Ribbed Ms! YAY!!! Sock goddesses do it again! ;) *skips off giddily to admire the socks*
December 18th, 2006 at 10:20 am
yay my socks made it here! *and customs missed them… extra yay!* heehee now I can wrap my dad’s boy chevrons for giftmas.
