Orkney Angora and Cable leg warmers

The Orkney Angora Over the Knee Socks are one of my all time favorite cold weather long socks. They come up about mid thigh on my 30″ inseam and keep my feet and legs deliciously warm and snugly soft. The angora may itch a more sensitive leg, but you can comfortably and easily wear these over tights or leggings as I did above. They’re so fantastic that you want to wear them showing so all the world can pet your socks and oooh and ahh over them. ;) They don’t stay up on their own and do require sock garters, and for me that adds to the specialness of these.

I paired the angoras with the Cable Knit Leg warmers in burgundy up top and ivory here. These are one of my favorite leg warmers mainly because of the ruffled edge and rich mixing of fibers which gives it a hairy looking appearance. I just love the soft fuzzy stuff! I sometimes wear the ruffled edge down to accent a shoe/boot, or upside down so it accents the knee. I think that’s a cute look. These aren’t all thick and bulky as some warmers, and they’re not super tight either. At $12 you have 5 fabulous colours to choose from.

I am never sure which way leg warmers should go ~:)

I like the ruffle end on the bottom because I think it looks cuter that way. I have a hard time figuring out which way legwarmers are supposed to go too! I just usually go with the non-stretchy side up so they stay better.

I think the tighter end of warmers goes on the ankle so you can wear it inside boots. But some are made to be worn over boots, or folded over the tops of boots even… so I think it depends on the warmer. Not that I’m some great leg warmer know-it-all… but the tighter long part hurts behind my knees if I wear them that way… like with the Judi Rib Cuff Leg Warmers. I haven’t been able to figure out how to wear the extra long warmers so EG, I’m anticipating your review. :)

Right now I’m wearing the extra-longs on my legs and the regular warmers on my arms, and I am both adorable and snuggly warm. :) The cable knit warmers are absolutely fabulous.

Not to change the subject, but are you going to be having back the plain wool blend stockings you used to have? I’d saved the link, planning on asking for some for a holiday present, and was so disappointed not to see them any more.

Hey Niq, speaking of you guys being busy, could you still use an extra worker bee over the holidays? I’m going to be back in Portland on Thursday and I’d like a supplement to my job at the arcade.

So I ordered the super long cable knit leg warmers in black, but they look a lot like grey/charcoal…
Did I get the right color? I thought they were supposed to becompletely, solid black with no lighter blotches.
*is confused*
Don’t get me wrong, I love ‘em, but I don’t know if they’re supposed to be this light in color.
