Lost searches fixed!!!

We don’t know how it happened…
Our search engine went wonky on us for awhile today. Something similar has happened rarely in the past and only for a handful of people that we are aware of.
Today Brigid answered a phone call from someone who got lost searching for slouch socks, then some emails came in too~ if you used the advanced search or the handy quick search, as we here at Sock Dreams do every day to quickly locate styles on our site, you may or may not see the lost page (above) when clicking on the related links.
It is now fixed and everything seems to be working again so if you had troubles earlier go ahead and give it another try, if you still have trouble try refreshing the page or clearing your cache.
I am taking a lazy Saturday & plan to edit photos as soon as I’m done being lazy ~;)

Looking back and looking forward

The other night I happened upon my old site at Fetishize-Me.com.
I was so enamoured with the new site and how much easier it made my life that I never looked back at the old site with anything but memories of what a pain to update it was, until the other night. There are some things I would update on it if I felt like dealing with the software I created it on, but it looks lovely just the way it is, the way it looked right up til October 2004.
Now, here were are two years later, with an update due, mostly a redesign of the shopping cart, but many other little upgrades and fixes throughout and wouldn’t you know it, there is a delay ~:( Hopefully just a couple of weeks at most. We’re all working very hard right now and appreciate every nice note and letter our many awesome customers send our way. The amusing questions and downright odd letters give us a good chuckle too and you know that when so many people are writing, calling & ordering we’re getting our share of headaches too so bare with us as reviews here will be sporadic for at least a few weeks, it doesn’t mean I’m thinking about socks any less, it just means I’m doing all I can to keep the socks flowing and my team sane ~:)

Cuffed and comfy

Now that the weather has cooled down I’m happy to be wearing longer socks more often, esp the Long Cuffables. I don’t always cuff them, I think they are pretty nice pulled all the way up, alot like tights, without the waistband.

They have the black toe seams that we’ve been asked so many times to switch to. Of course not all colors will look better with a black toe seam, but those that do are slowly but surely being switched as new batches are made.

The latest addition to these, the dark brown, need a photo as do so may other styles that have shown up these past couple of weeks. In an effort to get more styles added more quickly during our busiest season yet I will be using a few more supplier images than usual for the non Dream Stocking styles. But I will still be testing and shooting as many as I sanely can with the help of my ever amazing & beloved assistants. Our new shopping cart is beginning the testing phase this weekend. It was originally planned to be launched this weekend, but, as so often happens in life, there has been a minor delay. As we go into this week of testing we will be making as few changes to the current site as possible which also means I won’t be adding many new items, if any, but many, including several incredible tights, will start showing up soon after the new site is up and running.

Nylon and Lace

We got this nice letter at the end of last week & don’t really have the answers to all of the questions, but I bet some of you can share what you think & know on this topic…

Dear Sock Dreams, I just wanted to tell you that I just love your lace nylon bobby socks. I am a person who grew up in the 1970’s and wore these socks as a baby and a young child. I have been just heart broken that over the years, lace nylon bobby socks seem to be increasingly hard to find. I am a person who pays very close attention to fiber content in socks. Any where a person goes lace cotton bobby socks can be found very easily. I cannot stand cotton and lace together! That is like pickles and vanilla ice cream mixed together. That is like wearing tube socks and tennis shoes with a formal prom dress! Bad combination for a person like me who likes total elegance when I dress up. Thank You so very much for carrying such beautiful elegant lace nylon bobby socks. Nylon and lace are like peanut butter and chocolate, a match made in heaven! They are also like cherries and chocolate! They compliment each other’s true elegance! There are a few questions I have for you about these special and beautiful socks that I adore beyond all words in the English language. I have heard they are making a come back. Are these socks being worn with pants, dresses, and skirts? What are they being worn with out in public that really makes them compliment an outfit? What part of the country are these socks being worn in? Are they worn in the east coast or the west coast? What age groups are wearing them? I am in my thirties. Here comes my last questions, these are my most important ones of all, are your lace nylon bobby socks prefolded or precuffed? Are the cuffs on the anklets already sewn together? The biggest happiness for me is to fold and cuff these socks myself! The feel of the nylon and lace are so special. I also like my anklets to really look like anklets and be folded with the lace edge coming at least an inch or an inch and a half above my ankle bone. At least past the ribby neck of the socks! I just wanted to tell you what a great job you all are doing and that I appreciate your site beyond words. Thank you! Sincerely, Carla from Los Lunas, New Mexico.

Not your dad’s old army socks!

We’ve been carrying our military boot socks in black and green for a few years now and have been getting alot of praise and requests for more colors the whole time.
But it wasn’t until earlier this year that we decided to pursue the dream of a more colorful selection. For now it’s just pastels, but we’ll work on getting more…
so in true ‘don’t ask don’t tell’ fashion we’d appreciate if you don’t ask us when,
because we can’t tell you ~;)
Here’s what we can tell you:
they come in more sizes than most of our socks
they stay up really well on most people
they have thick terry cushioning around the soles, toes & heels
…drier feet with fewer blisters will result from miles of marching
or hiking, or sleeping, or horsing around on a cool fall day with your best buddy
~ and you still don’t have to join an army to wear our Sock Dreams Military socks ~
