But I don't know about the other colors. The only thing I dislike about the socks is the transition from the thicker knit to the finer knit at the ankle... The browns, which fit Amanda so admirably and the dark reds and hunter greens, which fit me prefectly, all have black elastic thread. The lilacs, which both Babylon and Rebeckah tried, have white elastic thread. Could there be a pattern depending on the softness/elasiticy of the rubber threads? I have these in black and didn't find them to be too tight at all. But, I don't think the thighs could stretch beyond 21.5 inches, however. HTH.
