Vertical stripes thigh highs - a larger woman’s view

In Niqkita’s last post there was a quote from an e-mail where someone asked for more pictures of the different socks and stockings worn by people with larger legs.
That finally got me to make a new post. I am mostly a thicker sock girl, but every once in a while I go to parties and then I want some classy or fun sheer stockings.
These are everything I could ask for. The stripes are different and give a sophisticated look. They also have a slimming visual effect, which is nice when you have short and round legs as I do.
They stay up well by themselves and the top band is soft and comfortable around my 21-22″ inch thighs; of course there is a dent in the thigh, but they stretch so long that the bulge is hidden under most skirts.
I have worn these three times and washed them in machine on a gentle cycle afterwards and they still look fresh and neat, so these definitely are a recommended buy.

It’s a slip-like dress that I made from some vintage silk from the 40s and vintage lace, probably 20 years younger. I wore it to a party at work, which is why you can see an office chair in the background.

Holly, why don’t you try something horizontally striped, such as the N stripes or Super stripes? That might give it a cool, plaidish look. : )

I recommend these too. they fit great and stay up and from what I can tell with mine, they’re pretty tough.

Wearing them over stripes is a cool idea, thanks! I might also try a pair of bootie socks to keep the original look too. Now I’m going to have to go play with my socks! lol

: ) PS. Eva, your legs aren’t large! That’s how big mine are, so I beg to differ!

GASP! Speaking of O brights, where did the neon yellows go??!

I was wondering something about the O Socks as well. I have an old pair of the OPastels in Lime Green and I LOVE them, but when I look at pictures of the other O Socks they look more like the M40’s and such and less like the pair that I have. What I like about them is the top section is just about the same size as my knee cap so they stay up really well and aren’t too tight or too loose. It’s hard to tell if any of the others are like that too.

Since we’re on the subject of O Socks, I’d like to know how long are they in inches? I’m on the short side, and I’d like to know how high they’ll go on me.

I was going to say the O chevrons are shorter than the O basics etc, but then it occured to me that it only seems that way because I have to fold my O chevrons to just above the knee because they can’t fit any higher than that. *Laments inability to make bigger O chevrons* Buuut they’re still my favorite sock anyway!
