A peek into next week

We are now in the testing phase and plan to have this in action within a few days. What you see above has a white background because it is easier for our programer to work with, it will look just like the rest of the site when complete.
It is awesome, shows the color of the actual items you are ordering with a short description and links back to their page. Plus you can see your running total at the bottom, select from our actual live inventory (this will greatly reduce your chances of ordering something we are fresh out of) and pay with Paypal right there without having to write us & wait for a paypal request. Of course you can still pay with your credit card or checking account just like you can now. Unless you are not in the US, in that case we will be requiring you to pay with paypal. I know this will seem like an inconvenience to some, but is much safer for us in the longrun. One cool thing for international orderers who do use Paypal is the shipping will be calculated in the process, no more waiting for us to weigh it and notify you of your actual total.
Gift cards will also be available with this update. more on that later…
There will be many more features added in spring,
don’t worry, we’ve been keeping track of your requests ~:)

Happy Halloween!!!

We’re all superbusy this time of year, so before I begin to frantically pull on my costume and apply my makeup, let me wish you all a very happy Halloween!!! If you’re itching for some frightful fashion, we have back in stock the little dangly spider sock garters, shown here with purple legs:

and neat new Halloween Stockings as well as our lovely Opaque Spiderweb Arm Warmers to complete the look. If you’re one of those gals or guys that raid the post-Halloween sales to keep you spooky year-round, you’ll appreciate that we keep our spooky stuff avaialble as long as demand is there! Happy Haunting, everyone, be safe and have fun!!!

Too Elastic-y For Me

…that was a bad rhyme lol
I don’t personally find the long cuffable socks comfy, but here are the photos I took of them because they turned out neat. enjoy! :)

edited for review:

They are just too tight, behind my knees especially and it cuts off the circulation to my lower leg which on me tends to cause some cramping in the calf muscles. I could only get these about 3/5 of the way up my thigh (shown in first photo) they just would not go any further, which is odd because all of my M40s/M43s I can pull all the way up. I’m not sure what else to add, the cuffables just are too tight for me.

Amanda’s Great Review for Grand Legs

I don’t think I’ve ever been such a happy sock lover as I am today, and that’s saying something. I just got my most recent sock order, and… wow.
I got myself some Long Cuffable Scrunchable Socks and Super Long Cable Legwarmers, and both are tied for the best thing to happen to my legs in a long time.
Because you see, apart from being warm and snuggly and cute, the Cuffables are the first socks I’ve ever had that actually make it all the way up my legs!

My legs are very short, barely 29″, but never before has there been a sock that stretched all the way around my thighs. On their page, it says the tops of the Cuffables stretch to about 20″, but they managed my 25″ thighs with ease.

As you can see, they do tend to roll at the top, so I’ll probably cuff them anyway, but I’m still full of glee that they can get up there at all. Not even the Super Stripes can manage that.

After all that excitement, I tried on my Super Long Cable Legwarmers,
not expecting my luck to hold, but hold it did!
Once again, the noted top stretch of 22″ was an underestimate.

They too go all the way up and stay there, and these don’t even have the rolling problem the Cuffables did! My legs can finally be toasty warm all the way up, should I so desire, although the warmers are much cuter all scrunched.

Both get an A+++++ from me,
and I definitely recommend them to all lush-legged sock lovers!

Eeek! Those pix are great! So cute and I’m sooo happy to hear they fit
you so well. EG just told me those leg warmers were comfy on her too.
Can I post these in the journal?

Happy toes,
Niqkita

I’d be happy for you to post them! Anything to share my excitement with others!
~Amanda

Help Wanted

We’ve survived the crazy pre-Halloween sales
and are getting ready for an amazing holiday season…
Current position: receptionist
answer the phone, direct calls to the correct person, take phone orders, ect.
You must live in the Portland area (sorry, no telecommuting yet~;)
The more you know about our site and socks the better. This could be part time or full time depending on who we find and could be the job of a lifetime for the right person (because we’ve been growing like crazy these past few years with no end in sight). If you think you might be that person you know what to do. And if you think you might be that person but not right now don’t worry, we’re going to need more help in the months ahead, right now we just need someone to answer the phones and possibly help out with pulling and packaging orders. Ability to work well with others & excellent customer service skills required.

SUPER WOOF DREAMIES (Super Dreamy in “bark”)

The warm, fall cozy, chocolatey colors on the new slubby bark Super Dreamy are so very rich that if they were eatable I’m sure I could never afford all those calories. THESE ARE GORGEOUS!!! When I ordered them I had no idea how wonderful the texture was. I had thought that they were going to feel much thinner and I just wasn’t imagining them to be of the nice quality that they are… Oh how I love the surprise when things turn out even better than expected!

My all time favorite Dream sock was the Super Marled (and I am still in denial about them being unavailable)… Well sock fans, these come pretty darn close in my book to the greatness of the Super Marled. They are really truly Yummy (sorry, I’ve not tried the O-Yummies yet… But if that name wasn’t already used, these would certainly be an excellent contender for rights to that title).

Okay… Let’s start from the toes and work our way up. Most of the dream line just don’t fit my size 11’s (with two notable exceptions being the Super Stripes and the Oh sooo wonderful larger Ochevrons). The Super Dreamy sockies ALMOST make it, but still come up a little bitty bit short. I think 10.5’s would be perfect in these… And anyone larger who doesn’t mind a hugging fit will joyously embrace the feet in these. Personally, I think these are just so very excellent and the shortness is truly minor… so it is hardly an issue. Moving up… My ample calves slid right into these with plenty of room (I do believe the earth moved when I realized that these actually went up over my knees and still gave me some lovely little folds of extra around my ankles… I LOVE THAT LOOK). If my pins where thinner, these may have made it to mid-thigh on me… But as it is they made it to a PERFECT OTK length. They didn’t stay over my knees as I moved around and chased my little furry bunny butt (One of my many terms of endearment for Vel) around the flat all day. But they did still look really cute in little folds pooled under my knees (which is where they stayed most of the time). I am confident that had I worn a sock garter with them that they would have stayed OTK just fine. Width-wise I had no problems with these on my lower legs, and they comfortably encompassed a width of 23 inches when pulled up towards mid-thigh.
If you are a fall girl (or guy) like me, the Super Dreamy are a MUST. They just seem to take all the lovely earthy colors and textures of this time of year and wrap it around your legs in cozy goodness.

I now have both the bark (woof… Tee hee) and the khaki. Both colors are gorgeous, though I am totally crushing on the khaki and have chosen them as my Favs. One thing I wasn’t head over heels for on the Super Dreamy is the inconsistency of the appearance of almost striped areas on the sock. With my bark pair, one sock seems quite randomly mixed in color variances, and the other sock appears to have a few stripes in the center of it. At first this bothered me… But now, as I’ve been wearing (and totally loving them) for a while… I think I kinda like having near stripes on just one leg (it looks pretty cool now that I think about it, and well heck… I never was one to be consistent in my look anyway). Vel and I give these ten enthusiastic toes and four cuter than cute paws up. I think I may NEED to aquire all the colors of them. :O)

Looking forward to more argyles…

The lovely Simone brought us these about a week ago, they are really beautiful in four colors and two foot sizes. Daffodil grabbed up several pairs as soon as she saw them and asked me how much they’re going to be. ” Well, it depends, I’ll give you a great deal if I can take some pictures of you in them” I replied and a deal was struck. So the next day I snapped this one at our central desk and several more on the stairs. I need to get a few more shots and finish editing them and if this week is slower than last as it always has been in the past I hope to get it done in the coming days so you can see and buy them all. And for those of you who do not yet know Daffodil, she is in charge of customer service most days, handling emails, returns & mail orders as well as several other sockie tasks. She even makes me coffee most mornings. Bsti & I have known her for nearly nine years having worked with her previously at Trader Joe’s. She’s got small size sixish feet, has larger legs than I and had no idea how much she loved socks before she came to work for us last October.

Everyone’s got one…

an opinion that is, and you know what they say about those.

My wife was looking for something to keep her legs a bit warmer this winter. We found your site, but couldn’t stand looking at it after a while. Almost all the photographs we looked at were poor at best. In some photos we couldn’t even hardly tell what we were looking at. The idea of the model taking a picture of her own legs is lame. I cannot get a good view of your product like that. My wife is a graphics designer so she knows good design from bad and said the design and concept for many of your sock pictures is poor design. Without having the product right in front of us we need detailed and/or well executed photos of the product to make a fair judgment of the product. I really hate to stay this, but you may have lost a sale because your photographer was trying to be artistic and creative and was not focusing on showing us what we need to know. It looks like you may have some really good products, but we both agreed that with the photographs we looked at it would be impossible to make a decision based on them.

You can’t please everybody and I stopped trying some time back. We get so many letters everyday saying something quite contrary that I only let it bug me for a few minutes. And it only bugged me because I’m quite tired after working 11 hours on a day so busy that we couldn’t even answer the phone and still get all the orders out (we did get all the orders out & called everyone back though). That’s with five of us working all day. So, apparently hundreds of other people were able to decide what they wanted, with dozens of them writing in their praise for our efforts every day. Plus, it’s not like I’m taking all the pix of myself for some form of glory, no it just happens to be a very cost effective method, plus there are tons of shots on the site of other legs, many of me that I didn’t actually take myself, several I’ve taken of other people ~and more to come because I have so much going on I can’t keep up lately.

Vertical stripes thigh highs – a larger woman’s view

In Niqkita’s last post there was a quote from an e-mail where someone asked for more pictures of the different socks and stockings worn by people with larger legs.
That finally got me to make a new post. I am mostly a thicker sock girl, but every once in a while I go to parties and then I want some classy or fun sheer stockings.
These are everything I could ask for. The stripes are different and give a sophisticated look. They also have a slimming visual effect, which is nice when you have short and round legs as I do.
They stay up well by themselves and the top band is soft and comfortable around my 21-22″ inch thighs; of course there is a dent in the thigh, but they stretch so long that the bulge is hidden under most skirts.
I have worn these three times and washed them in machine on a gentle cycle afterwards and they still look fresh and neat, so these definitely are a recommended buy.

A few quick letters before bed…

Early to rise and early to bed keeps the socks flowing out the doors.
But first, a quick peak at some of our most recent letters…

Hi, I am interested in the long cuffable scrunchable socks that go over the knee. Can you tell me if your socks are priced by the pair or individually?

..are they serious?

I love the socks you offer on your site, and the photos are lovely. The only thing that I think would be a huge improvement would be perhaps having more photos of the socks being worn by women with larger calves/thighs. The main model on your site is lovely, but she is very petite and it makes it difficult for me to decide which socks to order because I have to try and imagine how they might fit on me. I am 5′8″ and I have large (chubby) ankles and I wear a size 6-8ish pant, but have always been ‘curvy’ in my legs (but sadly not my ankles, which are more like cankles).

…they did not include their email so we cannot respond. But as many of you know, we’ve shown curvier legs here many a time, though my larger legged friends have been too busy lately to share their sock adventures and our site is not yet ready to link to all their reviews or show more images, it will be early next year, at least, that’s the plan…

Just wanted to thank you guys for being organized enough to see both my orders and ship them in the same package under Priority, which I only requested on one of the orders.

I wasn’t expecting to get them so soon, and couldn’t be happier. Funny, the site is called Sock Dreams and I couldn’t stop dreaming about my socks coming in the mail since I placed the order.

Thanks for making my dreams come true!

cheers,
Sarah

Ah, that is what I live for!
