a peek in to the recent past…
I’m post posting this image of what the rarely seen sock table looked like Friday, June 16. The N Stripes in the front have were done Saturday. We have a Yummy new O to be added this week, along with several knee highs, some gloves, new top striped tubes and a few more Levante bits & pieces. We’ll be sneaking in some other goodies as Summer starts too…

I’m really liking the new Top striped OTKs by Queentex. So cute and light they stayed up well through a morning of strong activity. After a few hours of kneeling, standing and bending I had to pull them up a bit, but all in all they stay up over the knee pretty well. I got one hooked on a store shelf & thought for sure I had snagged them, but when I looked I couldn’t even find a mark. So they get an A+ for durable from me.
The colors are sweet and pale enough that colourphobe that I am, I actually liked the colour! They are also thin enough that I didn’t even break a sweat in our crazy Texas heat.

They have tube style feet to fit all sock lovers’ foot sizes. The band is thick and sturdy. It didn’t roll into a doughnut the way some styles do. It did create a little bit of a bulge in my fleshy bits, but I’ll trade that for good staying power any day. & I love the double lines at the top. This my friends, is what MY kind of *skater sock* looks like. :) haha

At least that’s what “they” have been telling me since last year.
…But I wasn’t feeling it til I saw these. They go just over my knees and would be the best if they were long enough to easily stay there, anyone smaller than me should be able to wear them as OTKs with ease. The rest of us will have to be content with them being at our knees. As you can see by the heels being a bit above my own heels these should fit the larger feet better than some socks and with a bit of adjusting will also fit the smaller footed among us reasonably well. With sweet little pink ruffles and tiny black bows these are the bees knees ~8)

I brought in some new lace gloves because I was having trouble getting the old ones and someone needed lots for a Mary Poppins play and this is what we got. I like the black ones just a bit better than the white, but both are frilly and pretty. They could even be converted to fingerless by cutting those little fingers off. Simple gloves of this sort tend to sell pretty well here so we’re getting some more soon along with some more ruffled panties because a girl cannot live on a diet of socks alone!

Another week begins with me at my desk in two different InkLiNed nylon knee highs with fancy little fishnet knee highs over them. It all started last week when I was shooting all the unshot nylon inklines and not only loved the sage & olive, but couldn’t pick a favorite, so I had an idea that sat in my head for a few days. Sunday afternoon I tried on one of each and felt they went well together, especially with the new fishnet knee highs over them. So here I am bightening my Monday with layers and mismatches while dreaming of getting back to my garden…

Now back to the other five (or 50) things I’m trying to finish ~8)
Not yet! Especially not when the cashmere in question is the Hot Sox Cashmere Blend Over-the-Knee.
Alright, so they didn’t quite make over-the-knee on me, but I fell head over heels for these suckers anyway. They comfortably sat at or just below my knees and left cute little wrinkles at the ankles. Their natural/synthetic blend includes wool, cashmere, nylon, rayon and angora, which gives you the best of both worlds; Natural fibers help with heating and cooling your feet and controlling moisture, while the synthetic fibers ensure a better fit and longer-lasting stretch and stayup.

I love the charcoal color and the oh-so-soft feel of these, and the stretch was great! They fit my feet fairly well and have been noted down in my “favorite socks” mental file. I find them terribly comfortable! Don’t be afraid of natural animal fibers in the summer; they won’t all smother you! :D
These are the beautiful new N-stripes. The colors are so vibrant and rich, they just pop out at you! Look how wonderfully they clash (I like things that clash, it’s like a color rebellion) with my new yellow shoes (oh and I blame Niq for the yellow shoes too… Before she got me wearing colors, I would NEVER ever have even thought about wanting shoes in *GASP!* yellow).
These are clingy-er than the Mstripes, which is nice (though I kinda like the baggy ankles on the M’s). They are shorter than the Mstripes, just a bitty bit short of a true over the knee on me (personally I wish they could be just a few inches longer). They didn’t stay up over my knees unassisted, but never fell down below my knees either… And even though (as you guys know) I kinda have an aversion to knee highs, these actually looked pretty darn good hanging out just under my knobbies.
I do like these, even though I’m still more of a fan of the Mstripes (I personally prefer the cotton breathability). I DO like the color of these, the cling, and the length though not perfect on me is certainly still nice… They fit my larger legs just fine and don’t loose color or vibrancy when accommodating the stretch of my calves. But the problem here lies in the fit of the paws. I have big paws… My size 11’s go just fine with my long body. But, I get sad when I fall in love with socks and then have to keep my unshoed feet hidden because of embarrassingly ill fitting sock feet. I’ve said it before, but I still can’t help but think it everytime I wear something with too small feet… I feel like one of the Ugly stepsisters in Cinderella trying to put a little tiny glass slipper on my big ole clumsy feet (and note that my feet really didn’t feel so big and clumsy until trying to put them into something so petite). I know that our sock goddess has surprises instore for the big pawed variety of sock lovers like me (and I just KNOW they are going to be wonderful!! And we will rejoice) , but in the meantime I find feet like this so frustrating. Unfortunately the small sized foot on the Nstripes goes beyond smaller than ANY other sock I’ve tried here. The heels don’t even make it all the way to mid way into my arch.
If you have little feet, grab the N-Stripes by the dozen… They will rock your world. Just don’t show off those tiny tootsies in front of me cause I might bark at you with jealously ;o)

These are very simple, very sheer & very long…
so long you can create ruching, I could at least. The supplier image (which I went ahead and used for the blue on their page) doesn’t show near as much wrinkling down the legs as I got so I’m curious to hear how they fit other legs…

With a little practice it became easy to adjust the folds to make them even and fall in the areas I wanted them. I thought they’d snag if you sneezed at them, but found they weren’t that terrible (the many wrinkles help too) of course a little Hosiery Mate in their wash couldn’t hurt since it helps prevent snags and if we’re going to brave throwing them in the washer a garment bag is a must!
From the high end, stylish Jonathan Aston London line
we have Angel Anklets

Angel Thigh highs…

…and Angel Tights.

All, including the anklets, are tube style so your foot size won’t matter much.
The thigh highs come in two sizes, the larger size is longer with more stretch in the thighs (there is a chart on their page, I may need to make it bigger though). They have the grippy stay-up strips inside the tops around the thighs and were uber comfy. The tights come in three sizes and were also pretty comfy.
You’ll look and feel like an angel in any of these…
but how you act in them is entirely up to you ~;)
