Hard at work

Here she is, my vicious guard dog in the middle of a long double shift.
First there were the hours at the shop, making sure no evil mail carriers got us.
Then she had to put in a few more hours holding down the background and making sure no shoes escaped. Apparently it wore her out ~;P
I’ve added just a few of the many new things I’m working on and am embarking on an adventure this weekend which will take me far far away for several days. I’ll check in over the weekend and will be taking many pictures and telling you all about it next week. Sock Dreams will be in the very capable hands of my most excellent assistants, orders will go out, emails will be responded to (unless they’re written to me), phone calls will even be answered during business hours, assuming they have a free hand in my absence. And I will be off seeing a whole new world of socks…

Sock Inspektor Phranq makes a rare appearance

…even kitties like sherbet!
Me-ow!!!

Take a peek around…

I just got a new little camera and was testing it out.
Those are EG Smith Bootsocks, with lots of anklets behind them.
(Clickity click the pic to see it BIGGER)

N40s straight ahead, behind them are OTK Tubes, M40s & M43s, to the right you can see Super Ms.
…Nice use of used postal priority boxes, no?

The ever growing stripey assortment…
Stripes, stripes & more stripes!!!
(you’ve really gottas click this one and look around
…that’s only half of what we have too!)
(note to those who think we should have every style in every color and size…
we’re just about out of space!~;)

Here s the closet where garter belts & sock garters live…
Shhh! Buttoned sock garters are slowly coming back into stock!!!

That’s all for this week’s peek…

Summer’s on its way…

And with it come the yummy candy and ice cream colors that we so love! Here I’m trying out a pair of the Sherbet Stripes in Tangerine Raspberry.

I fell in love with these the instant that I saw them, but held off until I couldn’t stand it anymore. :) They’re so scrumptious and bright and cheery, just what I need some days! They made it ALL the way over my knees and settled in quite well as a high OTK, yay! And would you believe: they even fit my big ol’ feets?!?

They fit me much better than “normal” length OTKs and come in such bold and wonderful colors that I think I’ll have to get them all! ;) There is a little of the expected ankle-bagging, and so far they do still have the white-stitched toes, but I think the colors alone outweight the minor problems!!! Whee! I’m on a sherbet high!

Confessions of a color snob…

In case you haven’t guessed… I was the picky pink connoisseur who sent these back in the now pinky lavender because I refused to wear purple-ish socks (I had also refused to wear black shades that were too brownish, or any other color except mostly pure blacks or a little white… Heck, at the time I was freaking out that I was actually trying to include pink in my wardrobe). So, back to sock dreams (which was then the FZMe site) the pinky lavenders went, and I got the black with white stripes instead. Who would have ever known that shortly thereafter our Sock Goddess was going to broaden my sock tastes and invade my closets with many shades of brown, green, pink, red.. etc. (although I am still kinda opposed to yellows… I’ve now learned to never say never). I keep thinking of those old virgina slims ads “you’ve come a long way baby”. And truly, my acceptance of colors in my socks surely has.

The Queentex top striped OTK’s are super cute. More like stockings than socks, yet the look of top band makes them seem quite sock like too. There are no heel seams on these so they will indeed fit every foot. I have to tug them just a tad to get them over my knees, and unfortunately for me they didn’t stay in an over the knee position. But, they never quite fell down completely under my knees either… Just simply did the rolly thing and sorta sat mid knee with wear. The top band feels a bit snug (but more in a hugging way than a “too tight” way), and this might make a little dent in your squishy leg bits (but even on my legs, with these stockings this looked surprisingly okay). I hope that we do get the black versions back in again …They really are sweet (not to mention the fact that they are quite slimming). Though the pinky lavender would be truly at home in my closet these days too :O)

Something old…

Is new again…

I was so sad when we couldn’t order them anymore
and was very happy when I recently found out we could once again!
These were a personal favorite a few years ago.
I featured them several times in the Socks of the Day.

We even discussed whether this shade was pink or purple once. It’s one of those super tough ones to show in a digital format and I still think they look pinkish, but a certain future sock girl disagreed & I made a compromise. This time around I’m calling them pinky lavender. Hopefully we’ll get the black with white and the white with black soon, right now we have them in the pinky & in baby blue. They are in the Queentex label and look & feel exactly like they did when we had them before.

Charcoal hunters

Once upon a time we had a similar striped sock.
But only for a very short time, they never sent us more than a few and I wanted a pair so badly, but so did a few other people and I sold every pair. That was, of course, long before we were able to have just about any striped combination we could think of made and I had long since forgotten about it in the crazy sock induced haze I’ve been in the past few years. Then along comes miss Jamie-Lynn reminding us of the beauty of this long lost combo. When it was mentioned to me I faded off into yet another dream…
I remember those! I LOVED them! yes, let’s do those and do them soon!
…and here they are, their current incarnation is as Super Knees.
Now if we could just add a little spandex to the feet these would be one of the most perfect pairs of socks I’ve ever met!
…and yeah, I am so keeping a pair this time ~;)
