Blending in & standing out…

With so many new styles to try it’s hard to pick favorites and even if I had these wouldn’t have been high on my list. But I knew the pictures I wanted and knew that if I didn’t wear these to work today I wouldn’t get my pictures.
By the end of the day I was in love with them!
…all the green makes me happy ~8)
The camouflage pattern is printed on lime green leggings with good stretch around the tummy and legs so long you barely need socks at all. I already know what I want to wear them with next week and plan to test their durability all summer long!

And for the guys…

A new Men’s sock! Also camouflage, but this time the pattern is woven not printed on. Bsti says they are the comfiest of the Men’s socks so far and are perfect for the warming weather. Not only are they 80% cotton, they are also made in the USA and will fit our larger footed ladies as well as our sock loving men thanks to their larger sizing.
It’s a great week to be a new sock at Sock Dreams!

Lola & lace

Ever nosey & always near…

Inspektor Lola approves of the new lace capris!
From a purchasing point of view I loved that the new K. Bell leggings all come in one size only. But from a customer’s point of view I’m not so sure that they will fit you and me and the tree equally well. They do have alot of stretch, I could easily fit more inches in here. They didn’t list a weight range on the label so until I get some confirmation I’ll have to assume it would be around the usual 90-160 pound scope. These are a bit shorter than I expected, they just go past my knees and usually end up on them or just above them from moving around. I’d like it if they were a few inches longer, but I do think these are going to be great under short skirts & dresses this summer so I’m keeping a pair of both the black and the white. Actually, the main reason I’m keeping the white ones is so I can try dying them, they’re nylon so I’ll be using an acid based dye and will report back sometime later with my results (probably much later knowing what an awful procrastinator I am~;)
More leggings coming (among other things)…

Photo fleur-y

These were requested by a beloved customer some time ago…
Finally I am catching up!
The thing is, they are labeled as Fleu De Lis, which *is* what I ordered, but, they aren’t exactly an actual flue de lis are they? nope, they are flowery, but not the design I was thinking of, but are still quite pretty and fit nicely.
I’ll be shooting, editing and adding stuff as long as I can stay focused
in between working & sleeping…
Oh, sooo many pretty things!!!

Photoshopped five ways

I’ve been cleaning up several months worth of image folders today…
organizing, updating & deleting as I went
getting ready to focus on a table full of new items.

But first, my favorite combination as of late…

my lovely wide stripe socks with budded garters

the very same ones featured in our current Bust ad ~:)

It’s a slouchy kind of day,

so I’ll relax in a slouchy kind of sock! I’m still enamored of our lovely Cotton Slouch Socks; they get prettier and comfier with each order as the colors expand and the construction is perfected. I kicked back in a Walnut pair, scrunched around my ankles.

As I’ve said before, they pretty well fit my feet, and they more than fit my ankles and calves. They’ll go all the way up to just below my knees and stay there all day, but I prefer to let them slouch, as is their way. ;)

These are my favorite bootsocks and winter socks, but they do well with sneakers in the summer, too. Hooray for good comfy socks!

Summer’s creeping in…

but don’t tell me! Shh!!! I’m going to sit right here in my lovely Tangerine with Black Details O Chevrons and pretend that it’s Fall. :)

Ok, so Black and Orange aren’t *just* for Fall, and neither are the O Chevrons! Remember, they’ve got that neato weave that allows for good air flow and they’re relatively thin and incredibly stylish to boot. Chevrons are so popular around here because, in addition to being comfy, they look as funky as they do classy. You can wear them equally well with Chucks OR Mary Janes! They’ll likely reach over your knees (up to about 15″ width at the tops comfortably) and stay there, depending on the size and shape of your leggies due to one-way stretch. Alas, the feet still won’t fit much larger than a Women’s size 9 or 10, but I stick ‘em on my size 12s with glee anyway. ;)

So you can all have fun frolicking around out in the sunshine and warmth: we have plenty of bright lovely sockies to accomodate that sort of behavior. ;) I’m gonna curl up in here, have another slice of pumpkin pie, light some “Falling Leaves” candles and pretend that it’s not going to be 95 degrees soon. 8)

So last Saturday I got to shoot with the lovely House of Indulgence and in doing so got the opportunity to show off my lovely lycra cuban foot stockings
Annnd my Lace socks with ribbons.
The cubans have to be the softest things I’ve smoothed over my legs in a long time. They are perfect for the warmer months that are approaching us! It’s thin enough that I don’t feel like I’m sweating and it also gives my pale skin that shimmery sweet glow of suntaned skin that well, just will never show up on me naturally! hehe.
For me they would never have the hopes of staying up on their own due to their softness and delicate fabric but I’m also only 5′3″ and my thighs aren’t as thundery as they used to be!
So a garter belt is the key to showing these babies off(and your legs!) to the full extent you can. I suggest you all pick up one of sockdreams Lace garter belt and thong. For $10.00 I was more then impressed with their life as well as vitality! Haha.
Most garter belts that I see are going for like.. $40.00 if you want anything that will work. However these have never failed me yet! Easy to put on, don’t have to worry about the lil clasps breaking in half—-and the thong has received some raving commentary from my other half!
The other lovely that got to see the flash of camera gear would be the cute little ballet slipper socks- Sock dreams “Lace socks with ribbons”, self explanatory? Pfh,doesn’t do it justice. When I first received them I was a little weary of how they would stay up! I took years of ballet when I was a young girl and let me tell you this - if they made the slippers like this I’d probably have been a much more laid back person LoL. The ribbons in these delights, are actually elastic(not that you could tell, I’ve had tons of people ask if they can touch them and squeek in delight to find it to be stretchyhehe) . Because of their stretchyness they stay perfectly laced over your legs-thin or otherwise. One thing that you may find as a down point is that if you don’t lace them right it can cut off circulation and cause weird looking swells and dips in your upper legs when you sit down. But again, thats only if you’r lacing up your leg like you would a corset!
All in all I’d suggest every bit of the above mentioned to anyone considering their purchase. Not only will you be wowing your lover you’ll be photo ready with these babies Hehe ^___^

Miss Dater’s versus Sock-Dream’s garters

I thought I’d do a review of garters and what better way to compare garters than with your most uncooperative pair of stockings? ;) I came up with the idea & shot it about a month ago, but there weren’t any garters to sell at that time. So my review waited, and now that there’s oodles of garters, these E.G. Smith heather over the knee stockings are all sold out. lol. Oh well. :) I’ll still share a bit about the EG’s…. They’re soft and flannel like, and have gargantuan stretch. They also don’t stay up for anything. Completely uncooperative. So they NEED garters.

On the left leg is Miss Dater’s Ladies Adjustable Garters and on the right leg is Sock-Dream’s garters with brass buttons that I bought last year. The Dater’s garters are of a thinner, more stretchy elastic and the middle of the clip part pops out like a front close bra clasp. As you can tell from the picture I have more thigh bulge happening with the Dater’s. This is because they were not holding up my stockings very well. I kept tightening them and they kept slipping, and eventually they were too tight, creating bulge and hurting my legs. And they still kept slipping, so I was not only pulling up the stockings, but the garters as well. :( Also, I don’t think our sock friends with sturdier legs will be able to wear these up on their thighs, but OTK or knee high height always looks cute, and you’ll want to show off the darling little retro clip anyway.

The Sock-Dream’s garters where completely different. The elastic is thick and sturdy enough that it doesn’t cut into my delicate Lady flesh. :) The garter stayed put and also held up my disgruntled stockings. The buttons are a bit of an effort to get thru the holes at first, especially if you have long fingernails. But with the new lowered prices on garters, I’ll be getting pairs for thigh high height as well as over the knee heights and won’t have to mess with doing the buttons but just the once.

The
Miss Dater’s Ladies Adjustable Garters are good looking and fun for stockings that have some of their own stay up power, but if you’re wearing something that needs serious garter help, the Sock-Dreams garters were the clear winner for keeping up stockings that love to fall down.

Same socks, different looks

Since I haven’t ordered any new socks for a while (a month) I thought I’d make a post telling about some of my older socks. This is the first time I try to post on my own. Before I have e-mailed my reviews to Niqkita and she posted them. But now I’m on my own, so if it looks like crap it’s all my fault :)

These are SuperStripes in navy and lime. I know they look black, but they really are a very dark navy. For me, who wear a lot of navy (it’s one of the colours I look best in) the difference of course is crucial ;) They match a lot of my skirts and tops.

This is how I dress for work. The SuperStripes won’t stay up on me unless I use sock garters or a garter belt, so I’m using a garter belt here to keep the socks stretched and tight on the legs.

For slouching at home, or anywhere else than at work, I love wearing them without garters. They never fall below my knees and I love the relaxed, careless look you get with slouched socks. I have pretty sturdy legs but these are big enough to give lots of folds around the ankles and legs. The last picture is taken an hour ago or so. It had been raining most of the day today, but in the evening it begun to clear up and I took a walk.

I have worn these quite alot and they have been machine-washed several times, but they still are as bright as they were when I just got them.

Swirls & checkers

These Swirl socks are “high end” and I was reluctant to order them
but how could I resist such pretty colors & patterns?

They had funny names that I didn’t use, the two blues were turquoise & atoll, neither of those is as bad as the green being vanilla. At least that is what I think they were, none of the labels actually list their color so even we would be confused because really, vanilla & atoll??? even funnier, to me, is that the black was actually listed as black which really makes no sense at all. So green, light blue, dark blue & black it is, at least we’ll send you the correct pair now when you order some ~;)
…and why should you order $20 anklets? because they are worth it if you have the budget for them, think of them as an investment, gorgeous socks to go with your best shoes. Made in Italy for the very stylish Jonathon Aston of London. The checkered cuffs look equally nice up or down, the toe seams match the second color in the checkers, they have a satiny sheen and so far have tested to be quite durable despite their sleek sexy appearance. As usual, larger feet may find the heels fall short, but the fit is still great!
