It can be our little secret, for now…

During the holidays we ran out of most of the colors of our skater inspired striped knee highs. So we took advantage of the opportunity to ask for an improvement:
“can we have them thicker & with terry looping inside the feet?”
This pink pair was one of our sample pairs. We gave them a good testing and responded with a resounding, YES! we like ‘em, make us more! Then they arrived and we still had a few colors of the old style left, at the time we were swamped with being busy & shorthanded so we added them and didn’t tell anyone (I know, bad us!) but we figured people would be happily surprised and not one person complained of them being too thick or comfy and time went on. Well, here I am getting ready to get caught up (right, like that’ll ever happen) so I asked Alicia to set me up with a pair of each so I can get them properly listed and photographed. Til that happens I’m sharing the news with you, my closest sock friends ~:)
What you need to know:
white with oranges
blacks with greens and…
blacks with yellows are all that is left of the thinner version.
The rest are now about 50% thicker with terry looping inside the feet making the feet nicely padded and extra comfy. The foot size did not change, it fits my feet well and has enough stretch to fit a little smaller and a bit larger
(keeping them in that usual one size range).
They still stay up great, maybe even better than before.
I’ve worn & washed this pair many times and as you can see from tonight’s shot they still look nice. Plus they stayed up for a full day of working (which always includes running up and down the stairs many times) and a nice long walk after work including some running around with Lola.
A couple of colors have changed slightly too, but now that I’m sitting here doing this I realize I’m missing a few pairs so I can only tell you the white with pinks are now a brighter pink and the greys, I know Alicia told me they were different, but I only have a white pair and they look the same. Mondays, Mondays, I almost did a different post that was going to be titled “I don’t like Mondays” Hurray for Tuesday!

Now that’s what I like to hear! I’ll definately be adding some of the black variations to my wishlist. I have plenty of the white thanks to Skater Socks (I almost feel like a trader saying that) but they don’t have as many black combos and so I definately want more of those. Plus I like the two tone stripes and such that the Skater Stripes have!

i’ve been eyeing the skater stripes for some time, taking them on and off my list of *have-to-haves*…think i may be convinced that now is the time (of course payday is never close enough!)

aww I liked them with the thin feet… *pouty poutness* my feets get hot in shoes… I ’spose thicker feet is better for not wearing shoes though…

thicker feet will help with sweaty feet, too! i like cushy feet; the “normal” weight of some of the M styles bother my sensitive feeties. Good to hear that the skater stripes are buckin’ up! :)

I rather like thinner socks. I’ve discovered that some of the dream socks are too thick if I want to wear shoes over.. which would be nice occasionally. Keep the thinner version aswell, don’t do everything super-thick, please.

annelie… have you tried the Mstripes? (the regular ones and or the “knees” versions, not the super). I adore the thickness or rather thinness of them. Don’t get me wrong, I melt over nice thick cushiness (like the supermarled.. OMG is there anything better than them?!)… but sometimes I do like a thinner knit like the DreaMstripes too. I haven’t tried the skater stripes yet, so I can’t comment on them (I’m still waiting for the version that would be thigh high on me .. just kidding ;o)

not to worry, we have no intention of making *everything* thicker, but in the case of a sock that was designed to mimic the madly popular skater styles it needs to be better for people who are very active on their feet (like our many roller derby girls) thus the terry looping inside the feet to help keep toes dryer & blisters at bay ~:)

Awww Bailey. At least with the prices $15 could get you a couple nice things & none of it has to go towards shipping. Plus there’s always birthdays and holidays to give you extra money to come back and get some more later. Cheer up!
