Joining the bandwagon…
When I first scrunched these on, I thought, “Oh, see, too much cotton, I need a little more elastic, etc.” I pulled them up over my knees, and though they went there with ease,
I decided scrunched was the way for me!
I slept in them this way and they kept my ankles toasty warm and were comfy as can be! They did scoot down on my foot just like the bootsocks, but I found they did it less and were generally more comfortable when they did scoot. I think fans of bulky anime-style loose socks and thick legwarmers should give these a try for sure! I’m still not converted to the EG Smith-loving side, but I’ll keep these for sleeping. ;)

I can only hope they will let up on the “japanese exclusive”. I haven’t asked lately, but I do ask every so often and am not sure why they insist on keeping it exclusive after all these years…

They used to make them in a large variety of colors and once I was able to order a bunch of remainders they found in their warehouse, I think I even took a picture of the box full of colorful pippys, but it would take me a while to find the old Socks of the Day entry.
For those of you who truly love these and want them in colors, be patient and some day this dream may come true! it will require us to buy very large amounts, but I see that day coming in the next couple of years. I just did it with another supplier who has smaller minimums for some really nice striped OTKs that we’ll have in a couple of months…

I bought a pair of these (black too) I haven’t worn mine yet so I have no opinion lol, I don’t think I’ve washed them yet! lol
