Why, hello there Toes!

Just because you totally destroy your favorite sneaks doesn’t mean you have to throw them out! In addition to being mangled beyond belief, the sneakers are also two sizes too big but the sentimental packrat in me couldn’t let go of them. Paired with the rainbow anklet toe toe socks, they almost have an “I meant to do that!” look. They’ll be fun to revive when all the snow disappears and it warms up a bit.

I was never big on anklets because once I shove my feet in most shoes, they disappear and I can’t enjoy them…but these Toe Toe socks are amazing whether you can see them or not! Just the ‘barely there’ feeling of them, almost like a second skin covering your toesies, keeping them dry and comfy. I was really impressed with how well they stretched and clinged to my feet and the lack of seams also helps to ensure comfort.

These will surely make for some very happy toes.

three color striped leg warmers

I’ll admit I couldn’t come up with a clever title and it hurt for me to spell colour that way lol …and my spell check didn’t like it either… ;P

I opened up my box o’ socks and these were lying on top mmm soft I had to try them on right away! these are quite long so if you have a bit shorter legs than me you could probably wear them otk(not quite long enough for me to do that though) and the lovely blue colours would go with jeans so well. I wouldn’t recommend these for larger legs because they might be a bit too tight around the top. They are warm so my bare feet weren’t cold, that’s why the bottoms of my feet are hot pink instead of the usual frozen purple/blue toes when they are naked. lol Better get a pair while you can, sounds like there won’t be anymore…

….and the blue ones make a great river for everyone’s favourite Canadian stereotype: a moose, a bear and a beaver paddling a canoe ;)

They’re off to get butter tarts I hear ;)

We’re going to Hollywood!

Raspberry Lemonade

Or at least that’s what I would’ve called the lovely dawn Angelique Wool Crew Socks…but then again, I seem to have a penchant for comparing things to food. :)

These gorgeous little socks are knitted in a soft, loose way that belies how warm they keep your toes! I was really impressed with these. They fit my large feet and were breathable and comfy and soft and warm and so nice, kinda like cotton candy for your feet (there I go again). The yarn is loosely marled and mottled and creates gorgeous striations and “chunks” of color, which is why it reminded me of berry bits in lemonade. :) But as you can see, the sunrise factor is also at play:

They fade nicely from one color to the next and are just so very lovely. These are a nice pamper-y gift for yourself and will transition well through into spring. They’re freshly restocked and we have two new colors (of course, I’m loving the look of the caviar ones). ;)

Love…

Here is a very incomplete list of things I love:
Chocolate waiting on my car seat when I leave work
Pretty pink satin gloves that stretch & feel lovely
pretty striped thigh highs socks that only stay up til I move real fast
comfy slouch socks that reach my knees scrunched to my calves
crinoline skirts in new colors
(sadly, the new black ones were shorted on our last order)
Happy Valentine’s day!!!

Out in the cold

Comfortable temperatures have been blown away by chilly winds here in the Northwest so it is a perfect time for me to test out the MP cotton lined wool tights. They are as soft as can be on the inside, no itch from the wool at all thanks to the cotton lining and the stretch is as good as their other tights. I’m wearing a small pair and there is plenty of give going in any direction so it wouldn’t matter if I had bigger feet or hips, both or anything between, well worth the $45 dollars in my opinion…
I wore a light dress yesterday to be sure and get a good testing while I ran around town on errands. I did add a pair of O Chevrons in natural with black details which I thought looked especially nice over the black tights. But even when I took the socks off and sat in the backyard with the dogs late in the day my legs were warm enough to be comfortable…

Today I’m going to wear the tights to work with another pair of socks then I’ll wash them on gentle and wear them some more because the temperatures are going to keep dropping this week…

Basic black

Yet another black over the knee option, this one from Foot Traffic
acrylic, medium thickness, just about 4-5 inches above my knees at best
They are just like the rainbow OTKs with more stretch than the argyles to fit up to about 16 inches around comfortably while saying up well.
They come in black and white…

The petticoat is our latest from Leg Avenue…
also our shortest and silly me only ordered 6 and added them to the site before reordering so we might run out for a day til the new order arrives ~assuming they are still in stock, a couple of other newly added items are currently out like those super cute net stockings with ribbons ~:( If they are in stock I also have them coming in white, pink & red. It’s not super scratchy but I haven’t washed it yet, I’m thinking it could handle the handwash cycle in my front-loading washer, but I might be wrong about that, I’ll follow up on that in the comments here on another day.
This is the shortest of the crinolines and has lovely venise lace, it’s totally short & totally see through, so wear it accordingly ~;)

Confetti Legs!

I feel as though my legs got caught in a birthday party when I wear the Mulitcolored Crochet Knee Highs!

I wore mine over the yummy Cashmere Blend OTKs for a different look and loved it. You could wear these with almost any color outfit or with another color layered underneath, and they’d still be so cute! They stretched all the way up to my knees and actually went over them, although I don’t think that they would have stayed there long. Of course, the crochet pattern gives them lots of stretch, so these should be good for larger calves as well. If you know anyone with a birthday coming up, I think these would make a bright happy gift! My christmas-present monkey thinks so, too.

Pirates And Crusaders…The New Men’s Socks

To be honest, these are thinner than the usual Sock Dreams styles that I am used to, but it’s still cold here and I’m sure I’ll be greatful for that thin-ness come spring.
They are like dress socks, but with a rebellious flair that the boss never needs to know about. They are quite comfortable, fit my 9’s nicely and would fit quite a few larger sizes as well. They stay up okay, the real test will be when I wear them with shorts in warmer weather. They’re called men’s socks, but as most know, I consider a good number of the Sock Dreams styles gender-neutral so these would look just as smashing on the female stem.
These were a bit thicker, but not much…

…and they have a 13 hidden on their heels

They will go all the way up to the knee, but I like them about mid-calf.
Good, quality socks they are, something I’d buy even if I wasn’t in the sock biz.
(By the way, thank you very much Shelleopard for the boots seen in the second pic!)

toe toes and uncooperative cats

As some of you may have noticed by now, Niqkita and I both have Franks, or Phranqs, depending upon to which one you refer. While Niqkita’s Phranq seemed much inclined to be helpful in showing off the Knee-High Toe Toe Toesocks (See “Looking Back…” below), my Frank wasn’t as keen on the idea. Which didn’t stop me from trying.

We recently got these, my favoritest toesocks, in black and knee-high, together at last. Well, knee-high to whom, we wondered, and thusly was I sent forth to test them (sorry, I’ve been reading fantasy/adventure books lately). The results: MUCH closer to knee-high on me than their lovely Stripey version, and just as scrumptiously comfy. Due to the formed heels’ being mucho forgiving, they fit my feet perfectly and made it up to about two inches below my knee, a respectable distance for most knee-highs. They should go all the way up to the knees of those of you shorter of foot and leg than I (27.5″ from the tip of my toe, under my heel, to just under my knee, and that’s not even factoring in the stretch needed for comfort).

I’ve said it before, but it bears mentioning again, these are THE toesocks to have if you’re hesistant about things being between your toes. They seem to melt away just minutes after you’ve put them on, are breathable, soft, and they stay in place yet aren’t tight. No pinkie-toe slippage here, and no big-toe pinching, either. So while your pet may not cooperate with your angling and moving about, your socks surely will. ;)
