The FEEL of CHENILLE (toucha toucha toucha touch me…)

When I first tore into this package, (and yes, I always rip into my Sock Dreams packages with unbridled enthusiasm) I pulled out the soft pink chenille arm warmers (though Foot Traffic calls them ‘arm warmers’ they are really fingerless gloves) I just couldn’t stop touching them. I have no idea why it initially didn’t dawn on me to actually try them on as I was sorting through all my newest sock treasures… I just kinda went about my business for about 20 minutes before I realized I was carrying them around and caressing them the whole time like some sort of grown up’s wubie (*woobie, blankie, security blanket, etc.). I had a good laugh at myself and then finally put them on… I fell in love. The yummy touch factor on these is so brilliant that I swear, if I could find them, I would buy pajamas, sheets, pillowcases and bedding made of this gloriously touchable chenille. I just want to encase myself in this cool, soft, “make me melt it feels so darn good” stuff. Be sure to give your sweetie a massage (or heck, even just a touch) while wearing these beauties … share that wubieness!

The pink is this lovely sort of iced baby pink, and the fit is wonderful. I love the extra length in the fingers (as with my large and long hands, many pre-cut fingerless gloves don’t make it anywhere near far enough up my fingers), these go up to just about the middle joint in mine. (when I cut my own, I leave them even longer … but this is a fine length too). The uber soft chenille is thick and a bit puffy, so these really don’t make your hands look slender and petite. If this is a concern for you, definitely go for the darker colors like the black or gray (personally, I now MUST acquire the black in both items I am reviewing today … but I do adore the pink too). The length up the arm doesn’t make it up to my elbow at all … just sort of mid forearm for me. However, I don’t wear them pulled up that way anyway. I like to scrunch them down in a slouch around my wrist. This looked super cute and felt scrumptiously cozy when combined with the camel colored chenille leg warmers (worn as arm warmers).

The chenille leg warmers are made of the same swoon worthy material. I found them a bit on the small size. Mind you, they were not tight at all. It’s just that I personally prefer leg warmers to be lose and sort of flowing with extra folds of material and enough length to cover part of my foot & go up over my knees. These form fit themselves to my legs and barely made it in length from the top of my ankle to right under my knees. I have moved this pair of leg warmers to my arm warmer selection. As arm warmers they are much better for me. I can wear them on my arms covering the distance between the end of my hand to right over my elbow. Though I would prefer them longer with more scrunch room (even for use as arm warmers), everything made of this material is desirable to me. The solution… Combining the arm warmers (fingerless gloves) with the leg warmers worn as arm warmers, this bridges all the distances and gives me the scrunchiness and length I desire.

This combination is truly an exercise in joyous touchable decadence not to be missed. It may seem that I am exaggerating in the touchability of these chenille items, or that I’m getting carried away with chenille adoration … I’m really not. If you have these, you already totally know what I am talking about.

If you haven’t tried these yet, go for it! You are going to want to wear these for the remainder of the winter and they will probably be the first thing you grab in the fall, you’ll want to put them on indoors, sleep with them on, and touch them more than your sweetie (my advice is put them ON your sweetie, two birds and all that) … I wish wish wish wish that we could get these in 50″ longsocks cause I wanna cover every inch in this fantastic material. But truly, I am thrilled to be able to cover my arms in it too :O)

Totally yummy!

Vel gives them four paws up too! He thinks they are just brilliant for tickle fests :o)

My thought when i first tried on my black fingerless (and also those insanely fluffy soft pink & tangerine stripe chenille socks) was wouldn’t it be incredible to have leggings in this material….a whole body suit would be sooo incredible…..love these fingerless gloves (i have the black) so much…I pretty much never take them off (great at my freezing office so i can be warm but still tip-type away)…I should get another pair so when one pair is drying after a wash my hands will still be cuddled…Vel is a living doll….sweetness….he is probably as soft as these gloves…..

awwww Vel is SO cute! You made me dig out my chenille leg warmers again & yep, they are scrumptuous. :) They do have blankets made from similar material I’ve found at Target. Not -exactly- the same, but still soft and fuzzy. I have one in pink even! ;)

Oh man, I LOVE those arm warmers! I bought a pair in black because I knit and crochet and type a lot when it’s cold in my apartment, and they’re great for that. Then my boyfriend stole that pair to wear when he rides his bike to school, so I bought another pair! I’m thinking if I had gotten pink he might have left them alone…;)

    haha I just noticed I missed typing the y on”Rocky” oops :)

I used to have a brown Chenile “couch blanket” that I absolutely loved but something happened to it. I think the dog got a hold of it and then the whole thing got all messed up in the washer. Too bad they don’t come in that sort of chocolate brown, it would be like old times. Seriously considering the pink legwarmers though.
