Happy New Toes!

Sometimes I have pictures & not many words,
Sometimes I have lots of words but no picture.
…And that is why I’m so late in posting this time.
We took the whole weekend off again. This time I didn’t do any tangible Sock Dreams work at all which was sort of weird & sort of nice. I spent some time reflecting on what a great year we had and how much better this year is going to be. I spent some time with my parents who never seem to get enough of me, I spent some time setting up the new computer I’m taking them tomorrow. I spent alot of time with Jake (who is recovering spectacularly well from his knee repairing surgery) and Lola who seems to get prettier & sweeter every day. Then today it was back into work with much to do, an entire weekend of orders and no postal workers to deliver our many packages to. So orders that came in late Friday afternoon will not arrive as quickly as usual.
If a business offers free shipping and a $2 option to require a signature is it really the businesses obligation to replace it if the postal tracking shows that it was delivered but the customer was out of town that day? They didn’t select signature required or make arrangements with the post office not to leave packages on their door yet they don’t think they should be responsible for it. Nevermind, we’ve discussed this subject before, it’s old, but it still bugs me and I still don’t want to start charging for shipping or requiring signatures, it’s not fair to make everyone pay for the shortsightedness of the few. ON to other things..
I added a couple of new items tonight and a few new pictures for things we already had including the fuzzy toe socks which have a “new pink” (hopefully they’ll add more colors next because we’re down to three). The new version is peachier than before and the fuzziness is improved too, shinier & fluffier, plus they seem to fit better. Before they would slip off my toes after a bit, but now they don’t. Well done Foot Traffic!!! This past year they’ve become one of my very favorite suppliers, very reliable, easy to deal with and usually the fastest turnaround time from the time I call them til the time the order arrives, usually within one week, if only all suppliers were more like them, I’d be a happier less stressed sockstress!

This is exactly it! it depends on how people are about it, if they are demanding or accusing we’re not likely to be feeling very generous, but if someone writes a nice leter more than likely we will feel bad for them and want to help. But realy not selecting sig confirmation, then being away without making arrangments with the postal carrier or office is the customer’s responsibility. We’ve tried filing claims with the post office before when a customer’s package dissappeared of their porch, they are slow to reply if they reply at all…. you’d think they might treat us better as a business customer, but they do not…

*faster shipments* that is, silly typos (I could go in and fix them, but I’d have to log into the server and find the comments file and…)

I hope you don’t change carriers to me… or I wouldn’t be able to afford to buy anymore :’(

…and Shelle, I wasn’t reffering to you or any of my smaller suppliers, it’s the big ones with lots of employees that I wish would do fatsre shopments and have generally easier/smoother ordering methods ~:)

We always try to answer every question we get, but 1.emails don’t always get to us or 2. don’t always get to were we sent it (typos & spam filters being possible causes). We actually do replacments on a case by case basis depending on the circumstnces and the information provided by both the US postal & the customer. Should we require sigantures for each & every order? We have been thinking alot about swithing carriers for international orders but that would have a huge impact in international shippng costs. Well, as I mentioned, we have an even bigger year ahead of us and have more employees taking on more hours and more reszponsibilities in the coming months so who knows what solutions we’ll come up with…

some people just don’t think. ;) yes, the free shipping here is awesome! and sorry that i’m not one of the suppliers who can get things out very quickly. ;) happy new year!

I wish I could pet that picture! (Well, I could, but it would only leave fingerprints on my monitor!!) As for the shipping thing, no, that would be fault of the customer. If you know you’re going to be out of town, why would you have things delivered without making arrangements? I suppose you’ll never make everybody happy, but keep in mind all of us who you DO make VERY happy! Happy New Year! :)

I’m happy you ship airmail to Canada… because couriers are bleepity brokerage fee charging bleeps, can you tell I hate brokerage fees? and after I called customs and and let you know how they wanted them marked… they come in a week! yay! …I find airmail takes the exact same amout of time to get here as global prority and express mail lol but way cheaper!
