Because Santa could use a little TLC:

After days of fighting through shopping malls and parking lots, looking for the perfect gift, doesn’t your personal santa deserve a little joy of his or her own? We’re here to please with Nurse Garters, sure to inject a little fun into those cold winter nights!

Shown here with the M stripes in festive red and white, the Nurse Garters are soft 1″ wide elastic that can adjust to fit high or low on the thigh using their spiffy red snaps.

With their hearts and bows and little matching barettes,

these are as nice as they are naughty!

So show your appreciation for all the hard holiday work: Strap on a pair of Nurse Garters and leave more out for santa than just cookies and milk! ;)

Gag gift

Put your foot in someone else’s mouth for a change…
I wasn’t so sure about these when I saw them, in fact, I think I said “No way!” but they kind of grow on you, plus Xilia was strongly in favor of them so I decided we’d give them a try, but only 6 pairs of each color. Four hair colors, short or braided, little shimmery earrings on their ears and three different eye colors between them.
I didn’t want them to arrive til December, but I was hoping for earlier in the month. They just arrived the other day so I hurried to get pictures of them so that I could show them off and *hopefully* sell them quickly…
just in time for last minute holiday gifts.
As you can see my size 8.5/9ish girly toes kind of stick out from under the hair, I think they should fit feet up to about a size 10 (women’s shoe size). I bet some of you can think of another use for these where shoe size wouldn’t matter (please don’t share that with us if you do). They are even made in the Philippines. So please, PLEASE buy these so that I don’t have to look at them anymore ~;)

Stocking the stocklings

Large scale ordering is quite honestly one of my favorite things in life and has been for the past 16 years since I first starting getting to order for various sections at Trader Joe’s in southern California. The whole flow of it all fascinates me, some things a case/dozen of is plenty, other things two, some five to ten, some you order every single order even if there seems to be plenty when you write the orders and you have to figure out day to day, week to week which is which, and of course there are fluctuations that make some of the predictions impossible.
The past few weeks my biggest problem has been making the time to place my orders. I have a routine that allows me to write my orders throughout the day so they are ready to go when I make the call or write out the fax, but I like to have as many orders pulled as possible so that I am sure of what we need so I keep running out of time & steam before I put in the orders. Some suppliers are easier to deal with than others, some ship faster, some slower, some run out of stuff constantly, others stock stuff fairly reliably. EG Smith is among my favorites, my contact there is fun to talk to and they are fairly reliable with their stock…
Now we get to my photo above, Space dyed tights layered under Pippy Longstocklings A perfect combination to wear with shorts or a skirt on a chilly day. Their tights have been selling astoundingly well this month and their orders have been taking a couple of weeks longer than usual to arrive so we’re out of a few even though we just got an order last week. In the picture I’m wearing Mercury rising, we’re out of them but have more coming, my fav of the space dyed is the fuchsia shock mars, I just found out yesterday they are gone forever ~:( The longstocklings have been in and out of stock for the past several months despite always having at least 60 pairs on backorder with them. Right now we’re really well stocked on the black ones with a few dozen in white left and many more due in shortly.
If you’ve been reading my journal over the years you may know that the Pippys have been a major item for us since the first year. It was also the last year EG offered them to the US til this year. They offer a much longer version to Japan, but I’ve yet to convince them to sell us any. When I put in the order yesterday I walked room to room as I talked to Nancy so that I could get a visual of each item as we went and placed a really large order. As sales stabilize we’ll be able to stay better stocked.
I’ll try to make a little extra effort this week to show you more of the things we actually have in stock, the madness should be slowing down any day now…

Are we there yet?

As I’m sure you’ve figured out due to my lack of posts this week, we are deep in the holiday order madness and are out of more socks than ever (we *still* have hundreds to choose from though). I can’t wait til we integrate a system to automatically take items off the site when someone orders the last pair. If we had that now our jobs would be infinitely easier, we could never sell something over & over again after we run out. Ah, there will be much to do after the rush is over to get us ready for the next big thing, and I have lots of BIG things on my mind, many changes & upgrades are ahead and we are just going to get better & better! We’ll get a warehouse so that we can hold enough stock to handle all these orders and the many more that will come.
In the meantime, I cannot thank you all enough for buying all our socks and giving them as gifts to the many cold feet around the world.
I’d say more but am so tired I fear I already make little sense so I will say goodnight, I hope to have some fresh photos to share soon, I still have lots of new stuff to shoot when I get a chance…

Baby Biellas

The kid’s sock section has finally been added and features the cutest darn baby socks you ever did see!
Modeled by & near my own baby doll Beeky & my beloved Tigey.
That’s all for now, off to bed I go…

Coming next, Some even cuter Biella kid socks!

Marled at the Park…

The O Marled socks are the perfect way to keep your legs warm this winter! They’re so toasty and comfy and soft that I’ve even made a habit of sleeping in them. Pulled all the way up, they hit me about mid-thigh (without being tight or constricting at ALL) and stayed right where I put them without garters. But if you’re swinging on the swings at the park, I suggest folding and scrunching them down a bit if you want better leverage to swing higher ;)

The size small fit my 8.5 feet fine and they hugged my legs nicely from heel to thigh without being loose anywhere. The thick, marled yarn is so unique but at the same time feels almost classic for a winter wardrobe. I love them in black, but I do think the fawn is calling my name.

Good thing the holidays are coming up. I’ve already been asked what I want for Christmas, and when I reply “SOCK!” I always get: “No, really! What do you want?” Some people just don’t get it :P

Terrific tights

At first I didn’t think I needed $40 tights…
but how can I sell them if I haven’t thoroughly tested them and am unable to tell you why you should buy them? Picking a pair was the hardest part because they come in several pretty tasty stripy combos. I went with a pair of the violet fuchsia stripes. I washed them first as instructed on the label, then I put them on after a nice hot bath. Wore them for a couple of days, then washed them again and am wearing them now. They are really comfy with excellent stretch. I can’t usually sleep in tights and my toes often start to feel cramped after many hours of socks over tights, but these have been endlessly comfy and a really nice treat in this chilly weather. They are made in Denmark by MP and come in three sizes and just like the other MP style I reviewed last week, a small fits me great which still seems odd to me because I always thought of myself as a medium, I’ve known smaller people afterall, so I think my larger friends will find these comfy too. I am really loving MP now that I’ve tried them, they are worth every penny and now I plan to invest in many more of their styles next time I meet with their reps.

Overwhelming success!

Yes dear sock fans, we have waved the white flag of surrender for just one night…
thanks to Jane Magazine featuring us right in the middle of the holiday rush we have been overwhelmingly busy this past week. We have been working many long hours to keep up, I’ve even hired three more people to help fill in for the next couple of weeks. They’ll be doing easy tasks like weighing orders, sealing packages and labeling socks. In an effort to catch up before we get further behind I asked Olivia to take the site down tonight so there is no sock shopping to be had and I hope no one is too disappointed, we will be back at it first thing in the morning…
til then, warmest toes to you all and a million thanks for helping to make us an overwhelming success!!!

My First Post

so bear with me…. lol

the super stripes in one of my favourite colour combinations seafoam and lilac available in small feet and regular feet

as you can see I’m wearing the smaller feet (I wear size 8-9 shoes) and I’d say that that would be the absolute max for this colouring the little feet. From experience I think some of the darker colours stretch a little more. They don’t quite reach the middle of my thigh because of my previously mentioned long legs (about 33″). I love the soft yarny loose texture of these sockies it’s like a blanket for your feet and legs. In saying that, they tend to slip down on me so you might want to wear sock garters or make sure you are wearing opaque underwear under you skirt before you pull ‘em up in public lol…..

My mom said these were too loud to wear furniture shopping, but I think they go very well with the furniture I bought and they match my paint too ;)

I hope it works right lol :)

Fresh and Feathery

The Feather Rugby Striped Knee Highs are back in stock in all colors!

I tried the Black and Pink, thanks to Niqkita, and they’re so wonderful! They didn’t go over my knees, but went right up to them and were soft and scrumptious. And guess what??? They were even BIGGER than my feet!!! This means that these could easily be a good unisex style, too. See where the heels ended up:

I wore mine around the house and to bed over sweatsocks, to keep my feet extra toasty. When I woke up, they were hanging several inches off of my toes as I flopped out of bed. So, they do tend to slide down with much tossing and turning, but stayed on just fine during the day while I walked about the house. These are definitely a luxurious and spiffy item; I can’t wait to get an orange pair! :)
