Never Been A Ballerina

I’m just not that graceful… or athletic for that matter… and I never dressed up as a ballerina for halloween. but I could pretend wearing the Ballerina Thigh Highs

These are more of an over the knee on me, sorry I didn’t illustrate that very well in the photos. the socks are very stretchy but they might dig into the leg a little at the top if you have larger legs…. so as I was saying… them coming just over the knee, I tied the ribbons under my knee.

Niqkita had a hard time with the ribbons on these staying up tied over the knee for more than two steps, but under the knee I found they stayed up for about 20 minutes, and that was down and up the stairs and climbing up on the bed. Maybe something like a double sided tape that is material safe, like the kind people use to stick their dresses to their skin to prevent gown mishaps ;) would work to keep the ribbon up longer, I fear that regular tape would discolour the ribbon with the acidic adhesive. The ribbons are so glossy and satiny (they blew out on the photos and look white in some places oops) and the aqua is such a nice colour.

all in all they are cute but not practical, kind of like me ;)

I think it would be best to put a loop in the back at the top to hold up the ribbon. Stitching through the bow would keep the top of the sock from stretching, and I would think it would be harder to put on.

They do look very pretty but I can see how they don’t appear to stay put very well. Maybe those really tiny safety pins could be used to pin to the sock part since it looks like more of a sock material than a pantyhose material and that way the ribbons could stay up??

I thought pins would be best too. About the supplier, remember how I said last time she promised to find out and call me right back? Wel, I tried calling her this week to follow up only to find out she no longer worked for them ~:( now we may never find out (of course I’ll ask my new rep, but I had a bunch of other questions for her and wemissed that one). We’ve suddenly started selling alot of these this week and I can only hope they actually read what I had to say about them and won’t come crying back next week saying they didn’t stay up!

These are so cute ^_^ And I think they look great under the knees but even better above! Maybe its just me because I have a ‘thing’ for thigh-highs [I just love the way they look :-)] I really hope you can find out how the supplier got them to stay up- and quick! Otherwise we would have to keep fixing them every 20 min. or just stay still and look pretty ;-) You did a great job with the pictures– keep it up! And this should be my last post of the night … I’m a bit embarrassed, every time I come online I always come here to see whats going on in the sock journal- my friend here pokes fun at me all the time because of it :-\… so enough for tonight … [ I'll see you guys later ;-) ]
