Stars and stripes and…

When I put this pair on I didn’t want to take them back off, so comfy are they…
The stars easily stretch up over my knees and so far are staying there, we’ll see how they do when I start running up and down those stairs to get the sock orders ready in a few minutes. But just because they are over my knees doesn’t mean they’ll go over yours and I don’t think it’s just the height of my knees, but calf size affects it too, if a sock sits below my knees it’s at 15 inches, but the crook of my knees is at 17 inches and my calves are currently 12 and a quarter wide. We are still planning to get a comprehensive list of what each of the sock girl’s measurements are to help you know how socks will fit you relative to how they fit us. EG & I were just discussing it the other night, but don’t expect much to change around here til after the holidays except for our inventory because things are pretty hectic most days and as much as I want to do even more work in the evening sometimes I just can’t, you understand, 12 hours just seems like plenty to me most days lately ~:)
Anyways, we ran out of these in white with pink stars yesterday afternoon but are picking up more today aloong with one more SITM style, carrots, yes, that’s right CARROTS! a white knee high with green toes & heels and a big orange carrot up the back, it was just too cute and silly for us to resist, even at a time like this, *especially* at a time like this!
Happy Friday!!!

Sock It To Me

I’ve given Sock It To Me it’s own section…
We now have the most excellent soccer style above listed with the rest of the stripes with stars in their own section and ARGYLES!!! Plus she has several other great socks that we’re eager to add when we’re caught up with the seemingly zillions of new styles here waiting to be shot & reviewed.
We’ve had nothing but positive feedback about these so I was eager to try them for myself, and wow! they are nice, comfy, stretchy and they stay up super well. You can run after dogs and kids all day long without fear of failure. I think these will fit large legs really well, though I’m not so sure about the argyles because of the pattern, we’ll verify that later. One of the best things about these is that the supplier is right here in Portland so when we get low we can simply give her a call and run over to get more, assuming she has more because suppliers sometimes run out too! When you buy these you are supporting not one, but two, female owned & run businesses!

On my table…

It’s been awhile since I bothered to set everything out like I used to and show you what is up ahead. That is mostly because there is sooo much up ahead and I often feel as if I will never catch up, but I’m getting closer so here it is, the stuff I will be shooting and adding this week. I have most of the info in the site already and just have to test the items, shoot them, edit them and they’re ready to go! Most of these are Chinese Laundry label, handled by a company that is at least as excited to work with us as I am to work with them. They already offer some really unique items and are quite willing and able to work on custom designs that our current private supplier is unable to make, the downside is that they require sizeable minimums and won’t be made in the US, but they do offer us alot of options and excellent quality at reasonable prices. Also on the table are some new Sock It To Me styles, a color of the butter cuffs that I missed last week, some new shades of our cotton tabis a few Dream styles (because there are so many to add and Xilia already has her plate mighty full). I might’ve shot them tonight but spent part of the evening catching up with a dear friend that I was overdue to talk to and am now relaxing before bed, Mondays are a bear these days and I need all the rest I can get so I can do my best to catch up tomorrow…

Warning, the following images may cause some of you to squeal with delight!

These are Officially known as Feather Rugby Knee Socks
AKA fuzzy striped knee highs…
that just might go over your knees!!!

The pinks & the fuchsia/orange stripes went over my knees (about 15 inches for the record) the blues & green were more of the expected knee high. The colors are bright and glorious & the stay up power is fabulous too! Don’t worry, I’m still working on getting us an even longer version, maybe by next fall? we’ll just have to wait and see, but til then at least we have these. I’m waiting to hear back from the supplier about getting more because I only ordered 4 dozen which may or may not last the month, or week for that matter ~;), you never can tell, but I think these will be popular, I know I want a pair, but which pair? another tough question to be pondered, the greens are awfully pretty but I think the orange & orange might be my favorites because they are the most unique and nearly look juicy, that’s it, they remind me of juicy fruit stripes from childhood…

I think they will fit bigger feet uncommonly well, but smaller feet might have to accept the knees behind the ankles syndrome…

Snuggle up!

These are definitely our thickest warmest socks!
New Zealand brushed wool blend bed socks
Just one size that is better suited to larger feet than smaller, though they are much more for lounging in than walking around so they don’t have to be snug to be enjoyed. They come in lots of colors and I got almost all of them, plus I have been told the supply is good, but just to be sure I put in another order before adding them to the site. Warm feet have been proven to improve sleep and nothing will warm your toes like these! the hardest part is going to be choosing a color, my suggestion? buy one of each color that looks good, then keep the ones you like the best and give the rest away as holiday gifts ~:) It doesn’t look like I’ll be able to get gift certificates in place in time for the holidays but why would anyone want to return a pair of these?

The fluff goes all they way down top you toes on the inside & looks exactly like the cuff without a bit of itchyness.

Glove Love!!!

I LOVE fingerless gloves. I have long fingers, long fingernails, and just generally larger hands than most women. I also DO a lot with those fingers, and therefore prefer to have them easily accessible. AND I wear a lot of black (go figure). ;) So when Sock-Dreams brought in these lovely Black Fingerless Gloves from K. Bell, maker of some of my other favorite comfies here, I knew it was just a matter of time before I snagged a pair.

That time came along with fall:

They were bought to replace my pair from a couple of years back, grey and a wool blend that occasionally got itchy and made me sorta look like a bum (grey fingerless gloves scrunched at the wrists of a faded holey frayed black hoody…anybody know where I can find a fire in a trash can?). The new K. Bells did the job spectacularly! They’re stretchy enough but maintain their shape well, thick enough to keep you warm but thin enough that you can do somewhat delicate work (such as making garters or typing) with them, black black black (note their shade as compared to the other two “black” items in the picture), and fingerless! :D When it’s very cold inside, I even sleep in these! They fold up nicely and tuck into my backpack for drafty days at work, too. I love love love these gloves!

Btw, that little sockie peeking out from the left side of the pumpkin is the (I-didn’t-know-it-was-out-of-stock-but-of-course-it-is) Monarch Printed Toesocks. Don’t worry, we may not have the Monarchs, but the other prints are cUUte, too! :)

P.S.~ Noone ever judge Sock-Dreams by what’s out of stock when I post. I have mysterious post-the-out-of-stock-item powers. :)

I like to hike!!!!!

Every weekend I disappear for a 300 mile drive into the prickly dry high desert where I get out and hike hike hike till the sun goes down ( darn you daylight savings time!!!!!).

The wonderful tube socks ( there are so many different kinds all listed under the Dream stockings are my true and trusted companion on my journeys. I am particularly fond of the Dream tubes as seen here on me in the dark greens.

As I start my trek in the cold desert mornings I pull the wonderful warmth of the tubes all the way up my legs to keep them snug. As the hike progresses i pull them down to a knee high and bell the remainder of the material around the tops of my shoes. Yes this may look a little odd, but if you have ever hiked in grassy areas you may be well aware off all the little prickly things….

…… like burs :P that can get wedged in and stuck in the tops of your shoe or work their way deep into your ankles. “Belling” (as I have dubbed it) solves this problem as well as alleviating the odd rock or two that can sometimes find its way into your hiking boots. I personally think it looks rather adorable and I always feel spiffy at the tops of every vista or warm and comfy in the cool canyons. :)

And as you all may have noticed….. WE HAVE STOCK IN THE M’S!!!!! Lots of new colors and the old favorites as well. I took a ton of pics today and hope to take some more tomorrow and will hopefully have all the images updated by Thursday! Have fun scouting around! :)

Lace leggings

I love lace & I love leggings
so when I saw that we could get these I was very happy & added them right away with the help of the supplier’s image of them in white. But last night I decided to try them and get photos of them in black and found that they don’t fit as well as I’d like. They seem to be a little bit small, they went on my small/medium legs snugly so anyone who is a large medium or bigger is not going to like them. And they were long, nearly too long for me and could have gone several more inches up at the waist, so tall thin people will like these the best, everyone else try at your own risk! The good thing is that they are pretty, with lace trim around the waist & ankles and no seams down the legs. We’ve sold quite a few already and haven’t had any complaints so far so maybe you’ll like them too but I’m hoping for a better pair to come along…

Working on a Sunday night

I’m adding in super soft Legale anklets tonight…
Many have little tags stuck on them that say “Oh, so soft” and they really are, inside & out and such pretty colors too! Several have a silly name, Po Po, as in Po Po Argyles & Po Po Shorties, I think it is just because they are polyester, you know, that super soft polyester that’s been showing up in sweaters, gloves, scarves and of course, socks.
The luscious pair above are green Dip Dye Po Pos, these are my favs and I wish I could keep one of every color, but there might not be enough to go around and we’ve been getting enough rude remarks already about all the things we happen to be out of at any given moment, I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again, we are always going to be out of something, but being out of less than 10% of our ongoing items is hardly an indication that we are not a legitimate business or that we are going out of business or any other crazy thing, I’m tempted to post some of the silly things people have said this week because they obviousely aren’t reading the journal like you nice sock buyers are ~:)
Po po gift packs to be added in the morning, til then, sweet dreams!

Our latest sock addict…

Fidalgo just wanted me to let you know how much he loves the green knees. Though, he pretty much likes any socks that bring out his eyes the way that shade of lime does. He was purring up a storm, rubbing his face up against the socks like they were coated in catnip. He liked that they were looser at my ankles so he could nuzzle up to them. They also protected me nicely from his back claws, as he has a compulsive desire to knead his paws on my legs :) They don’t come in kitty sizes, but they fit my 8.5 feet perfectly. Maybe one day I’ll find Fidalgo some socks of his own to wear, but for now he’s content to drool on mine.
