How it is and how it’s going to be

It’s raining like crazy outside and has been for hours…
the dogs don’t want to go out to potty in it & I don’t want to go out and drive in it. On days like this I really miss working at home and look forward to the days that I have enough help well enough trained that I can let them not only print all the orders but pull & process them all as well and I can stay cozy here taking photos in my little studio, then editing & adding them from the comfort of my futon. That day will come, but not til long after the holidaze. We’re having a temporary lull before the really big sales start coming in and all I can say is if you are doing your holiday shopping with us get what you can while you can. Just like we keep saying we are running out almost as fast as we can order some stuff in and we are getting bombarded with letters asking when we’ll restock, why we’re out of “everything” (which is far from true, we actually have hundreds of items in stock every single day) we’ve even been asked if we are going out of business ~obviously these people are not reading the journal, or the front page of the site. Judging by all the slow postal deliveries we saw over Halloween I am scared about December, I also think I’m going to add shipping, just a few dollars per order and probably only for the month of December to encourage people to consolidate orders & add the extra dollar for priority which just might get it to you a little quicker. It is annoying how many people seem to think we personally deliver the packages and gripe when their free shipping is either late or stolen off their porch, folks, we offer signature confirmation for only $2, that’s less than most companies charge to ship in the first place, do we have to start requiring it with every order? no, I don’t think most of you would like that. Now, where was I? Oh yeah, give us this week to rest then order like crazy and if you don’t have it within a week of ordering write to us, don’t wait til the day you needed it because most times it was already delivered or is sitting at your post office waiting for you to come get it, I promise we will add nifty things like automatic tracking information and a much smoother shopping cart, as well as back in stock notices right in your inbox, but first we have to get through the holidays. Yup, it’s still pouring and I better get off my butt and get into work, many socks are waiting to be sent to their new homes ~:)
BTW the image is of me wearing the Mesh star fishnets over the EG Smith space dyed tights in Fuchsia shock Mars more layering to come…

people can be so silly sometimes. *shakes head* well, we understand about shiptimes, and if you order something last minute, you’re ALWAYS taking a gamble that, for whatever reason, it may not show. Sock-Dreams has the BEST shipping and customer service…you’re like the zappo’s of socks! :) and sorry for not posting yesterday…there was WAY too much wine in those glasses that i had!

I have nothing but glowing reviews for your socks and your service. I’m pointing all my friends to your site, and am even considering giving a few pairs as gifts this holiday season (I know one friend has a bright yellow waitress uniform that just cries out for a pair of yellow and black M-Stripes). Seriously, don’t let the whiners get to you, because you help bring joy to the feet of many. You rock my socks!

My last order came so fast I was totally amazed! You guys are totally on top of it. You provide the best online store service I’ve ever used – so fast and friendly. Don’t let the bastards grind you down!

I run a website too (nowhere near on this scale, but still) and it’s unbelievable how many people on the internet don’t bother to READ what’s in front of them. Sorry you guys have to deal with stupid, selfish people too :( I’m with Heidi, I’ll be appreciating you guys extra for all the people who don’t realize what a great service this is :)

Sorry that people are being so utterly dense, honey! It’s wonderful that you’re selling out of so many things, it’s just too bad you can’t get them in stock fast enough to keep up with demand! I’ve always loved that you don’t charge for shipping. You all have always been so kind to me, more recently giving me a free sample of hoisery wash or a free pair of socks (which I have worn to threads already..yay Sherbert Stripes!). The shipping has always been speedy, and I’ve never gotten anything “late”. It’s become one of my simple little joys to wake up and check the sock journal – new posts and new socks somehow have a very odd way of soothing me. Many people don’t read what is right in front of them, and they are the most frustrating to deal with. I have been wanting to place another one of my massive sock orders, but there’s a teensy problem: I’ve used up all my storage!! Two stack-bins and still not enough room for my collections of knee-highs, pantyhose, thigh-highs, anklets, mid-calves, and everything inbetween!

You will never get an email from me asking for a refund! I don’t even mind when you are out of something. It makes it all the more exciting when I see something has been restocked. Sock Dreams has excellent customer service. Your orders always arrive quickly. So, don’t let a few disappointed party goers ruin your day. Your company is doing a great job!
