Guest review from: Kassandra Leigh

Every lolita is going to want to get her candy coated fingers on this pedicoat.
Great, you got the skirt but what’s a skirt without layers of soft fluffy lace to give us that cupcake shape?! This pedicoat has been my favorite one I’ve ever owned.
The many layers of frill holds a beautifully round shape without the harsh scratchiness other nettings can offer. In addition, it has great bounce back life. Meaning, fall asleep in a pile of soft stuffed animals and get up hours later this pool of fluff will take its shape back in no time!
I Highly suggest this pedicoat to anyone who is looking for a healthier looking skirt^_^

The lovely O Chevrons combine stay power with versatility-truely a great find for anysock lover. What I found to be most impressive about these little delights, was that despite their soft fabric they had terrific staying power. You have to stretch them a bit to get them over your knee (or at least I had to, me and my height of 5′3″). However you can wear it above, or under comfortable. The material is soft and smooth on your skin — not heavy enough to be too warm but a great sock for the coming spring!

So far so good…

little bits by car, big bits by truck...
This was my first load Saturday morning…
not my first (or last) load of the week and most of the socks & shelves went by truck at the hands of two lucky movers who worked up quite a sweat during their four hours, who knew socks could be so heavy? Yeah, we knew it, that’s why I hired movers, lest we strain our backs or hurt ourselves, okay, actually I managed to do both but not too badly, spending the morning in our massage chair will help ~:)
Soon we’ll break down the computers and take them over, as well as the desk I’m sitting at now, the printers, another desk and a few remaining boxes of socks.
Tomorrow Xilia and I will start at 8:30 in the new location, at 9 Alicia will join us for her first day, around noon Bsti & Lola will walk over to set up the shipping department. Some orders may be delayed by a day or so, but most will go right out as if we’d been here (or there) all along. The biggest challenge will be finding some of the colors/sizes of the Dream stockings as they are stocked much differently than the rest and their shelves will take the longest to reconstruct. All the rest of the socks, legwarmers, tights, garters, gloves, leggings, ect are already in their rooms and will be easy to find.
We’ll be posting sock reviews as usual all week and I’ll give another update next Sunday, til then, may all your toes be warm & safe!

Putting our best foot forward…

Niqkita~ shoe size 8.5-9, Xilia~ shoe size 6
Levante Nordico knee highs
When we were trying these on yesterday a fight nearly broke out, a very polite fight, but just the same, neither of us was going to hand over our sock to the other!
They easily came up over my knees and stayed there comfortably. Xilia could get them over her knees too, but she didn’t think it would stay, still, the stretch at the tops is excellent, plus they are tube style and will fit little feet & large feet alike, these Italians really know how to make exceptional socks! yeah, they’re a bit pricey at $16 a pair, but have you ever seen such lovely socks? yes, it is possible you have, they ooze European finery. We’ve seen antiques & collectibles that looked like this so when the lovely Levante reps showed us these at a show a few months ago we went for it, 18 pairs of both colors and both are equally enticing, delectable over bare legs (I even shaved for the occasion) they would also be stunning over colored tights or any other fun style that would make their braided pattern stand out. Hurray for Levante!!!

A moment of silence

Support the Red Cross, donate now if you can
I don’t like to cover anything less than happy news about socks here because the world is so full of sadness sometimes and when a disaster happens it is all we see on tv.
I feel that this should be a place you come to be happy, to see fun sock pictures, and forget, even if just for a moment, that there is bad in the world.
That said, I have decided to make mention of it anyway…
many of us have friends and/or family who have been affected by hurricane Katrina. Our very own Shelleopard, maker of fun sock garters and reviewer with long legs, lives just 45 minutes outside of New Orleans. I’ve only had two brief messages from her since Monday, but as far as we know she is okay & safe and might even be back to making garters, but I don’t think she has power at her place yet, so we’ll keep our toes crossed for her well being.
Tuesday morning I made a donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief fund on behalf of Sock Dreams and our customers. It was a good sized amount, but pales in comparison to the numbers of people in need. We’re coming up with ideas for more ways we can help and will start working on them after we get through this weekend. Thank you all for taking the time to read our thoughts here and especially to those of you who contribute by buying our socks, the more socks you buy the more we can help and you all know how much I love keeping everyones toes warm ~:)

Closer…

Where are all the socks?
This weekend is the BIG move!
Each day more socks vanish into boxes stacked throughout the sockrooms.
Tomorrow after we pull the orders the rest will be boxed up…
Saturday movers will come help us haul it all over.
The timing could not be much better since this is a three day weekend which means we couldn’t ship orders out Monday of we wanted to. Hopefully, by the end of Monday we will know where everything is and have most of it organized and ready to go. It’s going to be so strange not working at home, it’s been such a luxury these past several years, but I’m ready for all that this move means. Our first additional employee since Xilia started last year will be joining us next week and we are adding more phone lines, we’ll even start taking phone calls like a “regular” business. We still won’t have a toll free number because we’ll still prefer people order online, in fact, we had a genius idea a couple of weeks ago because I really don’t want to start charging shipping, what if only orders placed online had free shipping? I think it’s a fine idea and will implement it right away, right after we get settled that is. So cross your toes and wish us luck, this is a really big step that is at least slightly overdue…
