World Love Productions & Irene

I got one of the coolest, longest letter from a happy sock buyer this morning…
telling me of her experience running into Eric Smith of EG Smith fame at an art museum in San Francisco, it seems he is a film maker as well as having created some of the best socks ever. He’s made a film about an incredible woman named Irene who designed and made her own clothes out of anything and everything, not following any one or any style in what she wore, just like my credo of wear what you enjoy and enjoy what you wear. She asked me to mention it here but not to include her letter, but this part I loved, I don’t know if he actually knows of us or was just pleased by the name…
…We go out into the lobby and there is the filmmaker setting out a display of some of her amazing hats on a stand. He looked pretty interesting too, was wearing very subtle and unusual colors, the wildest shoes I have ever seen (even counting all the ones I’ve seen on the SockDreams site) and some tie-dye socks. I asked if he had made his shoes and he said no, “but the socks are mine…” I asked him if he had made them and he said yes, he used to have a sock company. So I asked what the name of the sock company was. “E.G.Smith” he says and I suddenly grok that this filmmaker named Eric Smith is THE Eric Smith of my gorgeous space-dyed and sadly expensive tights!!! It was him, right there in front of me.
It was too much. My friend Lynne was blown away, I had been ranting to her about Sock Dreams and my new tights on the way to the museum. I wish I had brought my camera so I could have sent in a picture of him! He looked great, I don’t know how to describe it, so uncool that he looked WAY cool I guess is the best I can do. Seemed like a really nice guy. Said he had sold or “licenced” his label, but is still somewhat involved with the company…Was interested to know where I had bought his tights and seemed pleased to hear that it was from Sock Dreams.
Some of their socks still say Love, Eric on the arch…
Eric, we love you too!!!
Now, the rest of you, if you like creative & unusual people who follow the beat of their own drum go check out Irene!

Hi! My name is louise, and I live in a small city, near Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I have 3 pairs of Love Eric socks since 20 years. I would like to buy some more from here. I have no credit card, but money in the bank.
How can I get extra pairs of socks. Or does it exist a place in Montreal that import those loving socks. Please help me.
Thank you
louise lafrance
