My wishlist

High on my wishlist is to own a building just like this one!
I wish people would read our Frequently Asked Questions before they write and ask one of them. There’s plenty of stuff inquiring minds want to know that isn’t in there, like have we considered having a page on My Space. The answer to that one is yes, I set it up months ago & Xilia was very enthusiastic about it so I let her handle it. We quickly had over 1,000 friends when we suddenly realized all our bandwidth for Sock-dreams.com was being gobbled up by our images being up there, specifically the fun “Thanks for adding us as a friend” banner, so we had to take that down til I upgraded our bandwidth allotment. Lately we haven’t had much time to think straight so we aren’t very active there.
Here’s a favorite that came in at the beginning of whatever this cold-sinus-icky thing is I’ve had since Seattle, while being totally swamped with orders to fill, orders to write, orders to put away and wanting to do nothing more than take a nap, but truth be told, I’m a sucker for flattery, I’m just not always sure how to respond: this may sound like a strange question, but would you consider showing more larger shots of your bare toes? i have a foot fetish and heard about your site through an ebanned.com auction. as i was navigating your site i noticed a few pics of your SPECTACULAR bare feet and long toes and found myself wanting MORE! have you ever thought about offering a cd of pics of your barefeet and toes? or even one that contains more shots of your feet in toeless toe socks, toeless anklets, fishnet anklets, fence net anklets, lace anklets, crochet anklets, sheer anklets, footless tights, leg warmers, sheer half socks, fencenet thigh highs, and my all time FAVORITE fencenet footless thigh hi’s (damn these are SEXY)!!! please respond when you can. Now, some of you may have figured out that my beloved husband, who goes by the moniker of Bsti, also has a foot fetish, a very innocent one compared to much of what I’ve heard & seen on the topic (and you just have to know I’ve heard ALOT on this one), he’s the one who helped me see feet as art in the first place, did I mention I’m dizzy too? that’s why I’m rambling, anyways, yeah, I’ve thought about the CD, I even sold at least a couple of pairs of nicely worn socks by special request in the early days. It turns out that I’m really not comfortable with doing anything of that sort. I have no problems with people who do, in fact, if that is your thing I know a girl named Serafina who might be able help you out.
Back to my wishlist, don’t you wish we had one here? so do I, so do alot of people, I don’t know the technicalities of it, all I know is that it was too technical for me, and Olivia, who is in charge of design here has her reasons for holding off on adding it, we really will upgrade the shopping cart one of these seasons, but all in all it really works fine most of the time and with so many items to switchover when the time cones it’s really an ominous task for us.

Toes to the sky

Maryfaery walks among the clouds
The sky blue O Pastels are my current favorite pair of socks to walk around in. And I couldn’t resist adding the white pom pom sock garters after noticing the puffy clouds in the sky that day (though they stay up great by themselves). The knit is so soft and light that it didn’t even bother me wearing them in 90+ degree weather. I really like the texture of the cuffs too; it’s such an overall comfy sock that feels great against your skin.

Submitted by Maryfaery, who should be posting her reviews & gorgeous photos here on her own soon ~:)

Inspired by the sun….

Splashing in the sunlight
and the colors and the water and the world.
I wasn’t feeling inspired earlier today as I sat here wearing my grey Boysocks.
Okay, they aren’t *my* grey boysocks, I gave them to the man of the house last month for modeling them for me, but today, they are MINE. And very comfy too! but I didn’t feel inspired til I got outside. Walking along the river in the sunlight, running around the trees and into the water, never even noticing my socks were wet til I looked down and thought about it, still comfy, my toes were happy through water and sand and playful dogs at the park.
Tomorrow, we’ll look to the sky for some truly lovely inspiration…

Stripes in Seattle

View from the 16th floor of the Seattle Warwick hotel...
the Seattle Trend Show happened again this past weekend.
So I packed up some comfy socks and got on a train…
A Chevrons on A train seat
The King station renovation is coming along very nicely, getting off the train in Seattle is no longer the dreary experience it once was, the old walls & windows are coming back to life and soon the high ceilings should be back in view too.
There wasn’t much new to see at the show but I did meet a new rep for Music Legs and she also handles a fun line of garter belts that I couldn’t resist, they should be here in about a month, there was at least one gartini in the batch!
Back in my hotel room I got comfy in the nice cool weather and put on a pair of our newest Dream Stripe Tubes (we’ve got them in yellow now too!) and enjoyed the views til the sunset…

Old time favorite…

When I first tried the Sweater Socks I thought I was disappointed.

They were initially quite snug on my non-petite calves, and certainly didn’t make it over my knees the way they did on our Sock Goddess in her pretty pictures.

But then I looked all the way down and saw how very nice the feet were in these sockies. The pattern, (a nice thick ribbed waffley knit) continues all the way down to near your toes. (which means they are great for MaryJanes). The bottom of the foot is a flat knit (so you needn’t be walking on any of the ribbing). In short, (well actually long, cause the feet did fit my long feet)… These socks are made well… REALLY well. ‘Okay’ I thought… I’ll give them a shot.

After a few washing and wearings they were no longer too snug on my calves, and with some tugging I could get them over my knees (just barely). But, without all that effort.. They cutely just stayed sort of on my knee (higher than knee high, but not quite OTK). At this point I realized that I wanted to wear these more times than I could wash them in a week. :O)

I ordered more.

It’s funny… One of my biggest pet peeves with socks made for the more petite being on my legs is that if there is a ‘designated’ fold over cuff, or difference in knit that is supposed to go over your knee or over a certain place… Well it never works correctly like that on my leg. These are a good example of that. If I follow the knit variation and cuff them where they are intended to be cuffed, they are knee highs on me… And if I leave them uncuffed, that little division line seems to land in an awkward place. I think these Sweater socks were the first pair that I have owned that taught me to get over that. I fell so in love with these socks that I didn’t really see that problem on them anymore. I just saw cuteness… Lots of it!

I ordered more again.

Unfortunately there aren’t any pinks left in stock (gee, wonder where they went?! -hides behind her pigtails-) . However, there still are some amazing colors!!! Personally, I keep eyeing those orange ones… I think I just might have to have them, maybe two of them… Tee hee. And although I’ve never been a big fan of yellow.. well hmmm… I mean I never ever used to wear pink out of my house and just look at me now!!! Certainly a little yellow could do no harm :O)

They also slouch amazingly!!! So they make for great “convertibles”. These are my sock of choice for wearing to any doctors appointments where you need to put on one of those medical gowns. Somehow I just always feel a bit more “dressed” when I pull them up from slouched to cover my chilly knees is those freezing exam rooms.

They are uber cute with hiking boots or sneakers (they look great with my Converse). Did I mention that they are really durable too? Hmmm… Maybe I should get another pair of white, I only have one pair of those. hmmm… white and orange… and….hmmmm – Okay… Forget this post. DON’T buy these…

because I WANT THEM ALL… tee heee. :O)

Apparently they are tastey too!!!

ENGARDE!!!!! I’ve taken up fencing!!!

Well… fence’nets’ anyway :O)
I didn’t think I’d be so taken with these… but truth is, I don’t wanna take them off now that I’ve put them on.
Sure, they look cute and sexy on bare legs… sure they look sweet layered over knee high or over the knee socks… but what really got me, is the look of them around my ankles… layered over stripes (seen here over the double greens ‘green knees’). That was it… I was hooked.
Even Vel couldn’t keep his eyes off of them! The fit is divine! I think all sizes could wear these in different ways. Watch your little toes though… they can slip through the large openings… heck even that looks cute :O)
They make wonderful arm nets!!! Just slip your fingers through the holes and VOILA!!! SEXY arms!!!
I can really only think of one thing to say about these….. and that is YAY!!!!

Family Toes

I spent a long weekend over my sister’s house…

They have trees there…
They have deer in their back yard…
They have real grass for little paws to run in…

and they have some pretty toes too!!

My niece Vicky and I had a great time.

I invaded her extensive make-up case and her flowing closet… She let me decorate her face like a fairy, and she tirelessly posed for me and my camera.

She’s wearing the Feelmax OTK Pink striped toe socks. Vicky says that they are a bit of a pain to put on… Because it takes a while to get each toe into each little toe pocket. But, she said that once they are on, they stay on GREAT! No little toes slipping out where they shouldn’t be… They stayed in place and are very cozy. Vicky has really long slender legs and takes after her aunt in the foot length department, so these socks are terrific in the way that there is no heel… So they fit ALL sizes of feet. These didn’t really make it fully over her knees to an OTK length… They pretty much hung out just below her knee or right on it, ahh the price of long legs :O). Vicky looks great in these sockies and I couldn’t help but notice all the admiring looks her legs got in them when we went to lunch at a local diner. These pinks are so soft and pretty… I wish I could finally get down getting my lighting right so you could see better what I mean. I will get it eventually :O)

My sister joined in the fun and put on a pair of the cuter than cute Feelmax ankle high toe socks. This is her in her “Cinderella” shoes.

These socks have the same great “stay on the toes” power… And I have to add that they are soooo adorable that I couldn’t help myself in trying them on when left alone in Vicky’s room. This length for some reason just gushes in cuteness factors… I wanted to run all around with them on and wiggle my toes… JUST Tooo cute!!!

AND A P.S. … Vicky’s birthday was July 23…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GORGEOUS GIRL!!!

Fun in (or out of) the Sun

Rainbow bootie socks, comfy & cute
Here’s a comfy little sock that is perfect for this heat!
The terry loops are on the outside with thin brightly colored rainbow striping in between. The socks are super soft and stretchy, should fit down to a women’s 6 and up to about a 10, and stay up around your ankles without getting lost in your shoes. You could also wear these inside out to have the terry on the inside around your toes, an extra benefit of that would be no toe seam (not that I can feel it anyway, but some have extra sensitive toes). I got these from the Lovely ladies at Miss Dater in New York city and was told they are not an ongoing item so if you like them you might want to grab some now because while bootie socks don’t generally sell super fast around here, stuff with rainbows do!

Bootsocks with a kick!

Okay, so I totally didn’t expect the Skater Stripes 2 Stripes to outshine another popular brand of similar socks, but outshine they did! or, er, outsock? Anyway, these are very similar to the military bootsocks featured yesterday, with the lovely addition of stripes! And we KNOW you all love stripes!!!!

These were soft, comfy, a little cushier in the feet than the rest of the sock, MUCH less scratchy than the other brand, and the lighter knit allowed them to hug the calves a little more cutely, in my opinion. I found the placement of the stripes just perfect, AND these made it up to the proper height on me! I don’t know how larger legs would fare with these, but would think that if you have tried the military bootsocks and haven’t had a problem, then these should do fine as well.

Now I just have to pick up a pair in white with black stripes!!!

From Denali with Love

Mountains so tall they barely fit into the frame
We got this letter in May from a customer who lives here in Portland:
I just thought you might like to know…
I am spending the summer in Alaska and brought a pair of marching socks with me. I hiked up a rather tall mountain in them in very hot sun, and my feet were comfortable. I also hiked for several hours in rain, and my feet were comfortable. Good boots don’t help without good socks inside of them! As soon as I start getting paid, I intend to buy more marching socks!

That is wonderful to read!!!
If you ever get a chance to get a picture of your socks booting around Alaska feel free to share! Reviews like this are my favorite kind!

This weekend I got the pictures and this letter:
Nenana River
Hi! Sorry it took me so long to respond. Here are some pictures of military socks at the Nenana River in Denali National Park! These are the best socks ever. I’ve taken them hiking in hot weather, cold weather, pouring down rain, I’ve worn them to work… they are awesome. So, so comfortable, and they stay up!

WoW! I love it when people share their sock joy with us!
especially when they travel and share ~:)
