Sharp Combo…get it? get it?? ;P

Being mostly a homebody, I occasionally have a decent reason to go out to a bar, and I take full advantage of my costume closet-like wardrobe and many many many types of socks and hosiery. Recently, I tromped around in this trio:

It’s a pair of the oh-so-comfy Two Tone Lycra Fishnet Pantyhose in Black and Red, with Bright Red Longsocks (out of stock and unlikely to be seen again) and a pair of black Spiked Sock Garters. I was much more comfortable in my shorts than I would’ve been in a skirt or dress, plus I had POCKETS. teehee. And how do you dress up shorts? with nifty leg-cessories. *knowing nod* Besides the fact that the pantyhose made me feel that I had all my assets covered ;), they were cute and comfy, never pinching or pulling or sliding around. The socks looked nice all scrunched into my boots (grab a pair of O Basics for a similar effect), and the garters held them up wonderfully and looked snazzy, if I do say so myself. ;)

So if you’re going out tonight, remember: be safe, be smart, and don’t let those skirts have all the fun!

heehee, happens to us all, rebeckah! then skooters it is, those are the ones that I prefer. :)

  2. Rebeckah Says:

oh you guys are right! I was the confused one. I was thinking of scooters. That’s what I get for acting like a know-it-all. lol. :)~ Scooters are the whole skirt over a short. I think with skorts the skirt part doesn’t cover the back, and some will have pockets. Both are cool with socks tho. :D

Raubynn, the longsocks were made by a nice company in Cypress/Turkey. I have not reordered for multiple reasons: quality issues, HUGE lagtime (some orders took many MANY months to arrive), communications issues (they didn’t get my emails for one reason or other or I didn’t get theirs and due to language differences they didn’t always “get” what I wrote), inconsistancies in length (this goes back to quality, but kind of stands on its own too) and cost, they cost quite a bit considering I was buying them directly from the maker and not from a middleman/supplier. I’m certain that one of these days we’ll find a suitable replacement here in the states…

that’s what i thought a romper was, too, but who knows? :)

  5. Raubynn Says:

i always thought a skort was a skirt with the little shorts attached and a romper was the one piece top/shorts connected thingy??????? i am so confused… :s

  6. Raubynn Says:

also….how come no more long socks?? i am always so jealous whenever i read posts about them….sigh…

  7. Raubynn Says:

also, please, how long are the o basics?

  8. shelleopard Says:

right-o on the spikes, j-l, and i don’t actually have a pair of the o basics, so i don’t know. :) there are 4 spikes on each garter, leaving room for you to move them so that you can sit without poking chairs and even cross your legs without stabbing your thighs. and yes, the spikes on them are the dull kind…only mine have the sharp ones, heheheh.

  9. shelleopard Says:

ah, well, then, rebeckah, it’s rompers that i like, too. :)

  10. Raubynn Says:

Sierra- it is see thru enough where i feel i must wear some boyshorts under them (the petticoat)…seems like the more i wash mine the more pliable it gets….it was rather stiff when i first received it….unpacks rather wrinkly but a quick wash & hang fluffs it right up….Niqkita had the most lovely post with her pink one looked like a fluffy chrysanthymum hanging under the sun drying….mine is the black mid-length…

thanks, everybody! umm, here goes: the boots are underground londons that i got in chicago in 1999…they buckle up the backs, so they actually fit my calves perfectly! I haven’t tried cutting up the two-tones, but i think they *might* fare okay, like the topless fishnets, perhaps. maryfaery, that’s cheating, with those dog collars! no, really, that’s a great idea…they don’t get uncomfortable or are they nicely stretchy? and rebeckah, i only have one of those skort-things…i like them, but they rarely fit me properly (and i HATE the ones that don’t have the skirt the full way around). :)

ooooh, i like that look. red and black is a great combo fo ’sho! were’d you get those awesome boots?!

  13. Babylon Says:

has anyone tried to cut off the legs of the two toned fishnets? did they die? because fishnet pantyhose and me just don’t mesh ;)

  14. Niqkita Says:

I’ve put a spiked garter on Lola, they make great decorative dog collars ~:)

  15. Alexandra Says:

Great post! I have been secretly wishing for rainbow stockings to wear with shorts…I wonder if my dream will ever come true? ;)

  16. EG Says:

Nice post Shelle!!! So funny that you posted those two tones… I had just added them to my wish list. :O) LOVE the look… I want the boots!!!

  17. Rebeckah Says:

those two-tone nets would be great as thigh-highs. {OF COURSE I’d suggest it!!!} Lately I’m wearing rompers. Those great shorts with a skirt over them. and they’re thin enough so I don’t get hot. They’re fun and flirty! and show off my socks!

  18. edit Says:

REALLY nice socks. Thank you for satisfying my sock fetish.

  19. chuck & gabriele Says:
