ain’t no sunnyday girl

They used to call me Morticia at one of my last jobs … simply for the fact that I was thrilled everytime it rained or was overcast. I can’t explain it, rain just makes me happy. I don’t melt, love puddles… and what could be better than the sound of rain? So, way AM today, I peeked out my window… and knew that Vel and I were going out to the west side pier to enjoy this overcast and rainy day in the city.
I chose to wear my EG Smith Over the Knee Socks under my Leg Avenue Knee High Skull Socks. Vel opted to go bare pawed.

I always have at least two pairs of these EG OTK’s in my drawer. They are a very important staple in my sock wardrobe. However, I have noticed that they last a lot longer for me now (I think it just may be because my sock drawer has so much variety these days (thanks to Sock Dreams ever expanding selection) that sometimes I almost forget about the basic black). These OTK’s are nearly perfect. They stretch just over my knee easily, and stay at least to the top of my knee through average wear. They are more sock like than stocking like and are quite durable. I do wish the feet were a tad bigger, and that the length was a tad longer… But I always want that due to my large feet and ample legs. Now these same wonderful sockies come with back seams too… The OTK’s with back seams come in three really amazing colors. I must have me the inky voilet… yum.
The Knee High Skull socks are really really cushy and comfy! The foot area is nice and thick in comparison to the stretchy leg area (these are a good choice with shoes that are slightly big). The foot area is built like a tube sock so there are no worries about having a heel where your arch is, or for the smaller footed.. A heel where your calf is ;o) However, the larger footed should be aware that the thick area might run a bit short if you are much larger than an 11. (for me, the thicker foot area stopped just halfway up my heel). These only reached half way up my calf (I’m sure due to my large feet and wide calves), but that’s just fine by me as I prefer to wear them sort of scrunched down with just a skull or two and some stripes showing.

This combination was the perfect choice for our rainy morning adventure… My feet were dry and comfy, along with being pampered by cushiness (and looking cute as hell). :O)

do the back seams come all the way down the foot? I tend to get blisters from seams & am scared it’d be uncomfortable to walk on?
