Just because…

shiney
I don’t really have anything to say tonight
But I hate not to post
So here is a shot from a couple of weeks ago
the Satin Retro Mini Dress with Garters in all its shiney goodness
holding up the Foot Traffic thigh highs
which, typical of thigh highs, are more of an otk
but oh how comfy they are!
Soft, opaque, not too easy to snag
(though it is quite possible)
They come in 5 colors
I like them better than the Leg Avenue version
…that’s all for now.

Over the Knees, and then some…

the Arlequins are here!
Or, should I say: Beauty at a price?
Since the Arlequins got the most comments on our preview post I decided to do them first. As I mentioned, Ozone makes high quality/high priced socks and these are no exception…
the feet!
First your toes slip into the sturdy solid navy toe section, then the diamonds of color lead you to the navy heels and continue right up past the knees where the thin stripes start in all the same colors as the diamonds plus a few. A couple of inches further up is the 2 inch lightly ribbed solid plum cuff that keeps these up sooo nicely.
Down the stairs to get the socks...
After hours of wear, up & down the stairs and all around to get socks & run errands these stayed above my knees.
off to run errands...
Not as high up as they started, which was nearly mid thigh on me, but in such a way that I believe they will be (and stay) above the knees of even most of your longer legs and should easily stretch around 20 inches.
At $20 a pair I’m sure you understand how apprehensive I was to get these in, I only got them in violet to start. But after trying them out and seeing how pretty the colors are in person I’m definitely getting more. As of today I have ordered the rest of the colors they have available, we should have them in a few weeks. Til then we only have them in violet, but be warned, I don’t know how long these will be available to order, so if you want some you may not want to delay…
So cute and colorful!

Curiouser and curiouser!

Monday's Madness, a day late...
Alice had quite forgotten the Dutchess by this time,
and was a little startled when she heard her voice close to her ear.
‘You’re thinking about something, my dear, and that makes you forget to talk. I can’t tell you just now what the moral of that is, but I shall remember it in a bit.’
curiouser indeed! but what are they???

Weeks fly by…

catching up?
and my table is rarely bare for more than a day.
I usually work on sock pictures over the weekend, but not this weekend…
I took most of this weekend off to rest from last weekend’s trip away and to spend time with my parents who both had birthdays this month.
So, above, is my table as it looks right now…
Mostly it is several new colors of current styles. The pink & blue and black & blue on the right are samples, we won’t have them to sell for a few more weeks. Beside them, by request, some black & blue Super Stripes in both sizes. Skater Stripes in white with black stripes and red stripes. In the middle are the ones I’m most excited about right now, a few unique styles from Ozone. Ozone, in case you didn’t know, have high quality ($$$) socks made in France. This new batch from them includes “thumb socks” (much like tabi socks, but thicker and striped), Arlequins (harlequin, striped and otk all in one!) and some of those toeless socks so many people have been asking for (they just cover the ankles, heels and arches, but your toes stick out). Behind them are some 200+ inch socks just like the Super Longs we brought in last month, with the new under the knee size of the uber-cute pom pom garters.
And finally, there on the left, a few new Ink-LiNed, O Chevrons & A Chevrons. Oh, I almost forgot, there are some long black wrist bands in there too, made by Tuff Threads. Pictures will be added throughout the week and the new items will also be added as we get pictures of them ready…

Boys, Toys & Socks

Our latest addition was designed with men in mind
People occasionally ask us if we carry men’s socks.
Yup, this one is covered on the FAQ page, but people like to ask anyway.
And while I have long fought the idea that men need special socks to feel manly Xilia and I worked out a plan to have our unique & comfy Ink LiNed knee highs made into a shorter length and market them for men/guys. But men’s socks & guy’s socks didn’t sound right so we settled on Boysocks or Boy’s Socks. Actually, I wanted to call them something else entirely, but hey, I can’t make all the decisions all the time so Boy’s Socks they are! and who better to test them out and model them but our very own Bsti, head of our shipping department and man of my house & heart ~:)
We’d planned to feature them yesterday so he put on a pair and I loaded up my walking bag with the rest of the colors, got the dogs and headed for the river. It was a beautiful day and the sand along the shore had a special perfection from being rained on, the lighting was just right from the cloudy sky, we found a spot I liked, looked around and there it was, a wall of rain headed straight at us. We ducked under some trees for cover and planned to wait it out, but the rain just kept coming. For nearly 20 minutes it poured, all four of us were nearly drenched by the time it stopped. The ground was soaked and without a little sunshine there was no hope for anything getting dry enough for the shots I envisioned. Such is life in Portland Oregon, so we headed home and rethought our shoot.
Things boys like: toys, computers, beer, socks!
Bsti thought I wouldn’t like the idea of toys in the shots so he was hesitant to suggest it to me, but I thought it was perfect, I also liked having his computer in the background and even liked the way beer bottles in the background looked. It just wouldn’t be right to try and sell you socks for guys if all the pictures were of female feet! though I do like them too!
Aye, buit I like 'em too!
We have them in three sizes, the smalls fit little feet nicely (down to a women’s 6, maybe 5 which should be a men’s 4 or 5 because not all men have large feet you know), the medium fit me well at about a 8.5/9 so men’s 7-9 should like these. The large fit Bsti perfectly at a men’s 9.5 and would surely stretch up to at least a 10 and probably an 11, should we go bigger? We are planning to add blue and black next…

Totally Tubular

Like, Oh my gawd! .. I mean I am totally freekin out to the max on these righteous bitchin tubes… Fer sure! .. hehe.. hmmm

Okay…
I turned my OTK pink tube socks inside out, alternated them with the black/gray M stripes and I gotta say the outcome was adorable. I wish I had the time to take better pics to give you the full effect (these pics with the not so good lighting just don’t do the combo justice).

I was in a silly mood today and needed something cute and not serious to go with my mood. You know how sometimes, something just works… and it even feels cute… so you sort of prance around in that “I feel really cute today” high. Well this combo sure did it for me. Such Happy socks !

I have two pairs of the OTK tube socks… These pink (which are an almost peachy pink, just like the Opastels I love so much) and the dark green (which are a lovely deep forest color). The green ones seem slightly shorter than the pink (as with the green, the main sock just doesn’t quite clear over the knee, however the clingy top band does extend beyond that a bit). The pink just make it past my knee perfectly. Both colors are wonderfully cushy and clingy, huggin my larger calves gently. One of the best things about these tubes is that they are extremely friendly to all feet… big, small… no matter… they will fit as they are true tubes with no heels. Yes, you can have as much toe wiggle room as you want (Yay!!). I love to wear my inside out, and find they are equally good as an over the knee or a slouch.

My only issue with these is that the top band is pretty restrictive for some of us wider legged. They constricted and did that squish in thing at the point where my legs are about 18.5″. One of my sock dreams would be that these could be made longer and with a more forgiving and stretchy top (like those on the SuperM’s). However, as they are… I can wear them as JOTK’s (just over the knees :O) and they really are cushy comfy wonderful!!

:o)

Guys in socks part two…

milk & cookies
Niqkita:
I recently purchased a pair of your “Milk & Cookies”
Ink-Lined Knee Highs, among others. Being a guy in search of socks with a bit more color and style and of more sensual fabrics than the average “boring men’s socks” I searched your store for socks that would also fit a larger foot.
I also searched more for knee-high or shorter lengths because, being a guy, they’ll have pants or jeans on over them and I think the OTK styles would ride down (a characteristic of men’s socks which I hate).
Knee-highs usually have extra elastic in them which helps them stay up too.
I’m very pleased with the excellent color, fit and feel of these socks on my men’s size 10s (photo above).
Thanks for keeping the additional size & character descriptions of your products on your site. It made ordering much easier given the fact I am not your average customer.
I will be looking for more socks that push the edge of acceptability for guys on your site in the future. I love to look down and see something colorful peeking out between my pant cuff and shoe.
Thanks & keep up the good work.

Tomorrow, a variation of these that some men will like even more!

Guys in socks, part one

36_inchers
Hello Niqkita.
I remember one year ago, I emailed you two pictures of me in 50 inch white socks. Now, one year later, here is more pictures of my legs. I am wearing the same 50 inch white socks. I’m also wearing 36 inch black socks on. I’m even wearing brand new knee high boots. I went to this restaurant recently. There was this nice blond haired girl that opened the door for me. She noticed my legs then she told me I was overheating. “I love your socks, also your boots are hot”, you should have girls all over you”. The girl was staring at my legs the entire time I was there. When I left, she opened the door for me because of my socks withy my boots. I know you will love these images.

Although we no longer carry either of the socks Dan is wearing here I decided to post this anyway to show that we have indeed been selling socks men can & do wear for some time now. I also updated the longsocks section because I realized I hadn’t changed the wording in most of the styles since last year. We still have some lengths left, mostly in pink, and some blues, grey & natural in the shorter versions. We don’t currently plan to restock these but are sure to have something remarkably similar again one day…

I’m back!!!

playful stripes
I spent this weekend down in Long Beach California.
Thanks to Shelleopard you barely noticed I was gone…
My 20 year high school reunion was Saturday night, on the Queen Mary.
…It’s a grand old ship that took its last great cruise the month I was born, two months later it arrived in Long Beach and has been there ever since. They say it’s haunted!
I wasn’t fond of school, I never felt like I fit in. But I went anyway, just to see who was there and what they looked like. Just like in high school I did more lurking about watching others and didn’t talk much.
I had the most fun just sitting on my gramma’s back porch drinking coffee and listening to her talk. She has lived in that house for over 50 years and I grew up playing in the backyard where I took the shot above in my playfully purple striped skater stripes (currently my favorite socks! I’m wearing the pink stripes as I type this). I got to see all my aunties too ~:) I took my mom along while Bsti stayed and and took care of Lola, Jake and the socks, Xilia helped him out a little on Monday too. But today was a bear and I was a bit of a grouch trying to catch up….
It’s good to be home though!!!

7 New Colors!!!!

But I’m still wearing one of the “old” ones. ;)

The Cotton Slouch Socks (from the makers of dreaM stockings) now come in more colors! First there were white, black and lilac. I tried the lilac, and love blossomed. I asked about more colors and so did you. Voila! They are now available in: white, lilac, red, army green, black, natural, walnut, dark brown, lime green, minty green, seafoam, blue, and (I’m so excited!!!) TANGERINE!!! I can’t wait to try those!!! :) For now, though, I’m loving the red:

It’s a good, true red, and will look different under different lights, as you can tell in the pics. These guys are breathable, comfy, slouchy (of course) and make excellent mates with any of the dreaM stripes, super or otherwise, as their colors should exactly match. :) I like to wear them on their own, too. They’re great under boots, look supercute scrunched down over sneakers, and are just as nice all by themselves!

ahh, a day off… :)
