A Raubynn Review!!!

Hurray for a Raubynn review!!!
ok…
after MUCH debate & with the help of all your reviews & the great pictures
(LaDawn in superstripes and Xilia in the lime/seafoam greenknees)
I went for the greenknees….
I have a size 10 foot so the heel was short (which would shorten the leg length), from heel to top of knee is about 21″ so these-pulled all the way up-were just at the top of my knee and kinda rolled to just beneath my knee and the ankle was a little baggy but I have to say the colors are so beautiful and these are just really really cute- also they were thin enough for me to wear with my high heel mary-janes!!!!!!!!!
THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!! I am sooo happy!!!!
Now maybe I’ll try the superstripes!
Raubynn

It’s a noun, it’s a verb, it’s a magazine…

Bitch tights for our Bitch ad
I got a letter a couple of weeks ago asking why we didn’t carry Skull tights or thigh high stockings & there really was no other reason except that we didn’t and perhaps it was time to change that so I ordered them right in. And while I was at it I added the Bitch tights & stockings because the fine ladies at Bitch Magazine have ordered from us quite alot in the past and asked me nicely if I’d like to advertise with them. The above image will be in their next issue, inside front cover.
As for the tights & stockings, they fit well, stay up great and have alot of attitude!

Chevrons

Oh you sweet chevrons.. how I love you so… I can dress you up and dress you down and everyone still comments on how lovely you are. And with the new array of fantastic colors ( like the dark red featured in the pics)I can wear you even more!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait to see all the rainbow hues you have yet to arrive in ( most scrummy I can assure you all as you yourselves shall discover over the next month or so).

SuperStripes!

I was one of the few “brave” souls who purchased a pair of the previously-named red and tangerine Super Stripes before their pictures went up. Unfortunately, they had to be renamed Red and Persimmon b/c this orange didn’t quite make tangerine. However, they’re still GORGEOUS and have this fun gypsy feel to the fiery colors! Plus, they’re super comfy, elasticky, scrunchy and wonderful like all the other Super Stripes.

My only complaint about Super Stripes is that they’re not thicker and a little softer (I can feel the weave on the bottoms of my feet), but that makes them better for year-round wear. There are three NEW colors of Super Stripes in, with pics coming soon, I do believe. And you can trust ‘kita on the colors most of the time. ;) One thing that I’ve always loved about Sock Dreams is that here, our Niq isn’t afraid to rename a color or item if she feels it doesn’t live up to its manufacturer’s name. I love that! It means that when you order something that’s called “dark chocolate,” it’s gonna look like it should be in Godiva. And if it’s called “peach” or “coral,” it’s gonna be specific to those colors, too, darnit! Now, you can’t please everyone, especially with all the different monitors and monitor settings in the world, but you can tell that Sock Dreams does its best (thanks in large part to all the feedback monkeys out there)!

King me!

Checkers, by request
It’s a lazy Sunday afternoon and we’re laying around playing checkers…
you look deep into your coffee cup finding nothing but a stain at the bottom reminding you that it’s been hours since we filled it when I triumphantly announce that I’ve won yet again. “How can that be?” you ask, “we only just starting playing moments ago…” Aha, but that’s the ruse I reply, for I always win no matter when the game began because this is my dream and I make all the rules here!
“No no, I’m quite sure it is my dream this time!” you say, drifting back into the distance wondering what other new socks I’ve put up since you last noticed what time it was, but you cannot be sure because the sparkle on the fishnets hints that you still have not awoken and again you wonder just where the dreams end and the realities begin…
Sparkly!

elegant and girly

The opaque anklets with polka-dot bows, while not exactly opaque, are definitely adorable! They stretched to fit my large feet just fine, and looked classy and fun all at once.

As you can see, I tried the black with white bows. I’d received them to try in a large order, so I got a little inspired and paired them with the black sushi socks(currently out of stock, but the white are cute, too!).

I thought the “sushi-dots” looked great, as the black and white bows echoed the look of the masago on the outside of the little california rolls! :D The sushi socks also fit really well, and actually made it past my ankles, which tends to be no small feat when fitting these large feet. ;)

A word of caution about the opaque anklets with bows: While the bows are stitched on, you should still be careful with these, as they’re delicate. I’m rough on things and therefore managed to pull one of the bows right off! However, if you take proper care of your hosiery (like I don’t), these should be fine. We recommend purchasing a garment bag in which to wash your wee purty things.

On my table this week…

New DreaM Stockings
Up next to be shot is our latest bunch of DreaM Stockings.
On the far right are white & black O Basics (just like the O Pastels!!!) we also got them in a minty new green and I know we have more colors coming…
but I’m not sure what they are yet.
next, lemon-y pink knees, two new small footed Super Stripes and three new larger footed SS (we’ll get smaller Army Navys too, but not yet). All the way over on the left are new O Chevrons in natural, grey, dark red, lilac & minty green (creamy green like a grasshopper cocktail). We’ll get pictures of all these in the coming days, but all are currently available through the links above.
In the upper part of the shot you can see some elastic for the buttoned sock garters, I got the black back but will need to sit down and make dozens of sock garters, which I’m honestly not into right now, but if you really want a pair ask me nicely and I just might be able to make you some. We have some really cool sock garters coming in the next week from a neat retro label in NY ~:)
This was my table yesterday…
Being edited & added now...
I have since shot everything on the table and will be editing and adding them over the coming days. They are from Leg Avenue & Foot Traffic and pretty much speak for themselves, most were requests. In the upper left are plus sized garter belts, just like our current version, but for our voluptuous friends. I’ve asked Xilia to give us her special perspective on those, so we can expect some artsy angles of curve loving lace early next week.

Gettin’ to work…

Framed above by the pink knees in raspberry and pink are over a hundred little fuzzy balls, yards of cord and elastic, and my little tomato-full-of-needles to sew it all up! Yes, that’s right. SEWN. Not glued. Because I hate seeing cute things with pom-poms and then not buying then because I see that they’re glued on and will come off too easily to spend the dough. No worries here; these will stand up to NORMAL activity and may even take a snag or two in the fridge door or on a boot-buckle. :D

Yes, we’re bringing in more pom-pom garters, this time at a length that will put them adjustable to above and below the knees. Currently, they’re adjustable to an OTK or thigh-high length, so if you prefer to wear them higher, you should get them now before they’re all gone. :) Initially I had thought that a UTK/OTK would be a good idea, but decided to go with my regular sizing to avoid potential problems (and b/c I LOVE thigh-high socks and tend to wear just about everything at that height). After getting the word from our sockstress, though, I’m happy to adorn the calves of all you pom-pom-lovers out there! ;)

And while we’re on the subject:

You can wear your pom-poms a variety of different ways, not just at different heights. They can be turned to face front, side, or back, and can be worn exposed over the sock or tucked under a cuff as shown (My current faves, under Longsocks as shown or with OTK dreaM stockings). My idea with these was to make you able to add pom-poms to almost anything you choose, simply by adding the garters! This is why the cord is long enough to allow the garters to be completely covered by a cuff. Also, if you want to avoid tangling the balls (hee!), make sure the cord isn’t twisted when you put the garter on, then fold the cuff over the garter (obviously, you can make as wide a cuff as you like). The material of the sock should hold the top of the cord in place, keeping it from twisting:

Otherwise, expect normal twisting and untwisting to occur as the fuzzies bob along. :) And yes, mine have black cord. Because I make them. So I can do that. ;)

I think the new colors of Cotton Slouch Socks are scrumptious…

and so does Frank!

A while back, I raved about these socks and we asked our sock goddess for more colors. She graciously aquiesced, and here they are! These comfy, stretchy, slouchy, breathable, affordable wonders now come in white, lilac, red, army green, black, and natural…yet I want more. ;) These are the greatest to pair over stripey M stockings for perfect color-coordination. Shown below in black with black and grey striped feet M stockings.

Bring us more, xilia-who’s-now-in-charge-of-Ms! :) We should have ORANGE. and um…whatever! colors! lots of them! yay! ;D

Finding what you want at Sock Dreams

Light & sexy for summer and hot nights out
Are you looking for lighter styles for spring & summer?
maybe some anklets or half socks
or fishnet, lace or sheer styles?
From our home page or anywhere in the socks section there is a menu on the right side titled “socks”, it starts with the shortest styles, increasing in length as you move down the list and ending with our two privately mades lines, the Dream Stockings and Longsocks, finishing with toesocks. Then there is the “main” sock page which not only includes all the main styles from the Socks list, it also has alot of sub groups like stripes, fishnet, tights, loose socks, all these are arranged alphabetically. Nearly anything in any of those catagories that fits into any other catagory is cross referenced so it is possible to find the same sock in multiple sections (like striped fishnet pantyhose). One of the best & quickest ways to find what you want is the search feature below that sock list on the right side, it has such choices as backseams, bows, cotton, opaque, plus sized, sheer, vertical stripes & zippers. And, finally, there is an advanced search where you can enter keywords and if I’ve used them to describe an item like soft, comfy or sexy it will show them in a list, it doesn’t currently show you everything of a chosen color, but hopefully someday it will be an even more advanced search. But for now, I think that should help those who get overwhelmed by our hundreds of styles…
