HAPPY TOES!! (and heels!)

I have big feet.
Yes, It’s true.
My size 11’s can be difficult to fit in lots of socks. Most store bought socks list their size on the label as being 9-11 (or 6-10)… but, often those are sock sizes, not shoe sizes. Who knew that “sock sizes” are smaller than shoe sizes (who’s brilliant idea was that?).
And many times even if you think you’ve figured out this system…
the socks that should fit you, just don’t anyway.
Lucky for us, our very own Sock Goddess takes great care in listing her socks and has many “size” comments in her descriptions of the socks. In addition, the reviews in this sock journal can guide you to a perfect fit. Shelle (with her lovely long size 12’s), likes her fit snug in the feet. I like my size 11’s to have a bit of toe wiggle ‘give’. Xilia with her cute little size sixes needs about half the room, and Niq is perfectly medium sized at 8.5.
I cannot wait to hear Shelle’s review on these because I am guessing that we can both find exactly the fit that we want in these Lycra Acrylic Striped Thigh Highs even though our wants are different. How great is that?!
My toes can wiggle, my heels are actually in the heel area!! All this… and the fact that after all my wiggling is done, their shape bounces right back to conform ever so gently to my feet!! It really doesnt get better than this for these feet of mine!
The colors are beautiful, the knit clingy and light enough to be a summer sock, yet sturdy enough to be used in cooler weather too.
The Lycra Acrylic Striped Thigh Highs fall a bit short in length on me though. Stretching to just over my knees (of course I wish them longer) … but with feet that fit like this… I don’t really mind (and hey… they made it past my knees and for that I’m thrilled). These are definately the socks I would chose to wear to places I would remove my shoes at. They look great both in and out of my shoes. They stay up very well on my ample legs, though they do roll and pucker a bit at the top.
who cares though??!!!
the feet fit!!!!
yay!!!
At the very least, I am going to have to buy one pair in each of the colors.
That is how good these are!!
I really really LOVE them.
My toes are SO happy!

Love the sockies, and that skirt looks adorable =D.. although those would probably be alot higher on my legs, that’s about where my pink knees go to.

lol. what ‘kita just said i heard in a conan voice. :) yay for happy feets! i haven’t tried these yet, but i shall. Yes, i do like snuggliness, but not too much. I prefer wiggle stretch more than wiggle room (bagginess), so it sounds like these would be just right! :)

I thought it was just me having problems with the Journal…..(would these ever come in more color combinations?)……Happy Holiday everyone….

Thanks for saying that Michelle… see that?! I was so excited about how they fit my feet that I forgot to mention how effortlessly they went over my extra large calves. Yea… these really have lots of great qualities. hmmm maybe I should wear them again today.. tee hee.

They look like such lovely colours. And yeah, I love the skirt, it looks really funky! The sizing information Niqkita gives and the reviews on here are so useful. They really helped me decide what socks I wanted to get and made sure I didn’t have any surprises about the fit! Keep up the good work!

The skirt is actually a double layer very vintage crinoline (I collect vintage slips and such). I just love a layer or two of frou frou ;o) I am saving up to get myself some of the crinolines here (the longer length black has been calling my name for some time now, but I just get so distracted when I am buying the sockies that I forget to save for that).

  8. Babylon Says:

ah another vintage slip lover! you gotta keep me away from the ebay because I’ll just buy and buy… lol

i have a pair of these socks as well (in fact, i just ordered my second pair) and i must say they are my favourite. very comfy and very cute… they always make me smile when i happen to get a peek at my palette of toes.

  11. Babylon Says:

you’ve got softsoap vanilla & brown sugar, I just couldn’t get used to the scent of that one lol

I keep clicking the link to see if the last few pairs sell out! You would think I had nothing better to do!:)-

crapballs, i’ve done it again. and i took these pics out of my “out of stock” folder to use today, since the last time i tried to post them, they were already gone. lol. oh, and babylon, i couldn’t get used to it either. it was a desperate attempt to find a suitable scent now that they discontinued their aromatherapy line. the “energizing” ginger one always perked me up a little. i gave up and bought some clearance body wash of the same scent, refilling thatv&bs container with it. :)

  14. Babylon Says:

they discontinued the aromatherapy line? I just bought a bottle of the purple one, relaxing I think?… I hope they don’t get rid of the purple one, I love it…. **cries** I guess I better stock up

  15. shelleopard Says:

maybe they just don’t carry down south anymore…hmm…

  16. Shannon Says:

It looks like you can order those from drugstore.com Shelle I just did a search.

  17. Babylon Says:

my dad was out shopping and he said it looks like softsoap is bring out a completely new line of products, so I guess they have to scrap one line for the sake of the new one….. grrr they always discontinue things I like >_

  18. Rebeckah Says:

Oh, funny, I love the vanilla & brown sugar scent. I sure am washing my hands more cuz I like the smell. But I usually like fake vanilla, as long as it doesn’t smell like cake. ick. But I don’t like most flowery perfumey scents. Spicey is more my line…. & I noticed this soap dries my hands out really bad too.
