Summery light anklets

light& sexy
We love the O Chevrons so much that we not only brought in more colors but also had a shorter version made that is perfect for summertime…
or anytime you want a lighter shorter sock. But there was a problem….
When the latest batch of O Chevrons arrived something was different and not quite right, it seems there was a mixup at the mill and the wrong yarn/elastic was used resulting in socks that we will only feel good about donating.
Then, upon closer inspection, we realized it also affected most of the new A Chevrons. Somehow it doesn’t seem as disastrous on the shorter version as it did on the longer ones. As you can see from the pictures they are still lovely, if you didn’t know better you might never notice they are not as nice as they could or should be, so I’ve decided to go ahead and offer them for sale, at a reduced price, only $5. They are still a comfy stretchy cotton blend that fits the curves of your feet nicely and stay up around your ankles~ I liked the tops slightly rolled down instead of cuffed and it adds to their unique appearance that is equally fashionable and comfy with sneakers or your sexiest heels.

Mediums & smalls only…

Exotic fancy toes
Lace Tabi Slippers!!!
They came in three sizes so similar that I only got the largest and smallest. The smaller are marked M 22.0 cm – 23.0 cm. The larger are LL 24.5 cm – 25.0 cm, this is the size that fit me best and although I’m sometimes an 8.5 I usually stick with 9s to be on the safe side and I don’t think these will fot an6yone over a 10 comfortably. The Ms were too small for me but fit Xilia’s size 6 perfectly and I would think that up to a size 8 should fit in these.
The packaging is very japanese in appearance, shiney with kanji for most of the text, but our supplier thinks they are made in China.
I wasn’t sure I’d like them and at this price I’d better, well, I do!
I like them so much that I’m taking my pink pair on my quick trip down to visit family next month and will be taking a small pair of the white ones for my Gramma who usually only likes bootie socks
They make a lovely & thoughtful gift I think, I think I’ll give myself a pair ~;)

Washing your new petticoats…

cool water, gentle cycle
It can be irresistable to wear something new right out of the package.
But unless they’re fancy stockings or handmade they probably should be washed before you wear them. I’m going to use our newest & softest version for this demo, but our shorter & longer versions use a rougher crinoline that benefits greatly from a washing or two. I start my machine with cool water on the gentle cycle, add in my detergent, you could use a gentle brand or one designed especially for lingerie, I use the one that smells like lavender from Trader Joe’s. Then put the petticoat in right around the center post, add fabric softener if you like (baking soda is a nice natural option).
After the final spin hang it over a towel or from a hanger outside to air dry.
hanging out on a sunny breezy day
You could probably get away with a low setting on the dryer if you’re in a hurry, but I like mine air dried, the lace will look nice longer this way ~:)
Air dried and fluffy

Growing pains, an ongoing saga

Some of the newest additions this week, a softer peticoat & lace up thigh highs
These are just two of the newest items I’ll be adding to the site in the coming days…
But first, yes, it is true there are some linkage issues with the journal this weekend.
I had left notes about it in the comments yesterday but they vanished ~:(
For the third month in a row we were rapidly running out of our monthly bandwidth allotment so it was time to upgrade the server to handle all the traffic we get these days and still handle the increases we are sure to see as the fall holidays approach in the months ahead. It appeared to be an easy transition with only momentary downtime for the site. BUT there is something in the links to the journal in the top of the page that is not working on all browsers. I’ve done what I could to correct it but the rest will have to wait til Olivia is back from her mini vacation this week to fix the big stuff locked in the coding. The text on the front page that links to this journal should work, but it doesn’t on one of our computers so it may not for you either. But it has to do with switching servers and will be resolved before too long. As far as I can see the rest of the site is fully functioning ~:)
We’re having other growing pains too, just little stuff like quality issues with a couple of our fav styles, we hope to have those worked out within the week. And the ever concerning issue of soooo many socks and so little time or space, that too is sure to find a happy resolution in the months ahead.
I’ve got several fun things to add this weekend, but for now, I just want to go walk along the river for awhile and enjoy this cool cloudy weather we’re having!
Happy three day weekend to any of you lucky enough to get one ~:)

HAPPY TOES!! (and heels!)

I have big feet.
Yes, It’s true.
My size 11’s can be difficult to fit in lots of socks. Most store bought socks list their size on the label as being 9-11 (or 6-10)… but, often those are sock sizes, not shoe sizes. Who knew that “sock sizes” are smaller than shoe sizes (who’s brilliant idea was that?).
And many times even if you think you’ve figured out this system…
the socks that should fit you, just don’t anyway.
Lucky for us, our very own Sock Goddess takes great care in listing her socks and has many “size” comments in her descriptions of the socks. In addition, the reviews in this sock journal can guide you to a perfect fit. Shelle (with her lovely long size 12’s), likes her fit snug in the feet. I like my size 11’s to have a bit of toe wiggle ‘give’. Xilia with her cute little size sixes needs about half the room, and Niq is perfectly medium sized at 8.5.
I cannot wait to hear Shelle’s review on these because I am guessing that we can both find exactly the fit that we want in these Lycra Acrylic Striped Thigh Highs even though our wants are different. How great is that?!
My toes can wiggle, my heels are actually in the heel area!! All this… and the fact that after all my wiggling is done, their shape bounces right back to conform ever so gently to my feet!! It really doesnt get better than this for these feet of mine!
The colors are beautiful, the knit clingy and light enough to be a summer sock, yet sturdy enough to be used in cooler weather too.
The Lycra Acrylic Striped Thigh Highs fall a bit short in length on me though. Stretching to just over my knees (of course I wish them longer) … but with feet that fit like this… I don’t really mind (and hey… they made it past my knees and for that I’m thrilled). These are definately the socks I would chose to wear to places I would remove my shoes at. They look great both in and out of my shoes. They stay up very well on my ample legs, though they do roll and pucker a bit at the top.
who cares though??!!!
the feet fit!!!!
yay!!!
At the very least, I am going to have to buy one pair in each of the colors.
That is how good these are!!
I really really LOVE them.
My toes are SO happy!

Beautiful Intelligent Talented Charming Hosiery

One of the really excellent things about Sock Dreams is that Niqkita makes a point to have a variety of products. She’ll bring in things that she herself might not exactly love, just because you might. :) In this case, we’re talking about the new Bitch Thigh Hi Stockings by Leg Avenue. I tried a pair, and while they didn’t exactly make it to thigh high status,

I still think they’re awesome! I actually think they might be cuter just over-the-knee this way, not like I have a choice! ;D The stretch was yummy, the color between opaque and sheer, and of course they’re that thick nylon that feels excellent and is more difficult to snag. Although a ripped-up pair of these would be sweet, too. :) I didn’t think of it until after I started this post, so I don’t have a pic, but I think these would be great with a pair of my Spiked Sock Garters, too! No matter how you decide to wear them, these bitches are hot! ;)

Our fishnet pantyhose go up this high…

On Raubynn, this is great news for you leggy girls!!!
Burgundy fishnets pulled as high as they will go...
UGH….. …..so I have been working SOOO much overtime…..and the construction is SOOO bad on the roads!!! and my drive to and from is SOOO long!!! BUT my beautiful new burgandy fishnets kept me SUPER comfy and smiling ALL DAY!!! WOW!!! Are these things STRETCHY!!! I tried to capture just HOW stretchy but don’t know if it came out…..I can pull these all the way up over my chest and they pretty much stay there….unless I am waggling my arms over my head then the elastic slides down slightly…..and these are not no sausage skin casing stockings….they feel like the lightest tickle over your skin…..and the color is SOOO rich!!!! my toes poked thru the toes of these ever so slightly but I am so in love with these things that isn’t even a thought!!!
My measurements: I am about 5′8″ – 5′9″ and weigh about 135lbs…..

Thanks Raubynn! even in low pixels you are picture perfect!

Xilia Warrior Princess….

These have to be the most incredible scrap of a “sock” ever to grace my not so little leggies!!!! I saw these wadded up on Niqs keyboard and the pink drew me in.

“What on earth *are* these?!!!!!!” I exclaimed as I held up the little strings- in my mind envisioning having to do an even more risque shoot than the garters! ;)-

Then Niq explained to me they were something we had looked at and loved, but after she had tried them, on she was not so fond of.

It was ridiculously warm today in comparison to what it has been of late and my toes were not so happy in my thicker socks, so off the socks came and on went the Fencenet Footless Thigh Hi.

ok.. not RIGHT on. It took me a while to figure out how on earth to get the things on -you would think it was easy, but in reality its oh so trying on ones already heat frazzled patience.

Once they were on though…. how divine!!!! I really did feel like a super hero or a greek goddess in these! I wore the loop around my middle toe ( I think it looked “toe” cheezy around the big toe) and it looked really snazzy with my black velvet mary janes ( gasp.. yes I have other shoes aside from the kitties! :) )

My legs are far from perfect and I thought that these would make me look lumpy and I am happy to say that they did no such thing. I think the secret to avoiding the spoodgy look is not pulling them up higher than they want to be.. which on me is around 3-4 inches above the knee. They stayed in place all day at work and on my walk to get lunch and around the house tonight.

And the best thing? I got to beat the heat AND be hot at the same time!!!!!! :)-

Now these are different…

on my favorite blanket with my nail file handy
Wide Fencenet Footless Thigh Highs, with a toe loop…
or as the back label says “big checker thigh hi w/ring toe”
The worst thing about these is putting them on, or rather, finding your way through the center of the wide netting. The other thing about them is you better like the way your legs look before you put these on because they do nothing to hide your flaws, that said, they are just the thing for showing off your toned & tanned summer legs (okay, mine are semi toned, but nowhere near tanned).
Obviously these will look best with open-toed shoes or sandals, but they’d work with Mary Janes or mules or clogs or…
On me they went up to my thighs with ease, but I will warn you, they do that thigh bulge thing and let me tell you, your thighs do not need pudge to do the bulgie.
Xilia liked them best just over her knees (hopefully we’ll get a piccie & review from her next because she was wearing this pair when she left today). Now go file your toe nails and get yourself a pair of these so you can tell us what you think of them!

Super Long Socks alla Sock Dreams

Super long socks have arrived!!!
For those who have been patiently (and not so patiently) waiting for us to get the Crazy longsocks back in their 100+ glorious inches we’ve brought in a few dozen of this new version. Just like the Super Ms at the tops and feet, but well over 100 inches long for tons of loose flowing sockie wrinkles around your legs.
They look way too long, but they go on like a dream
The first thing I noticed about these when I put them on was how easy they went on, much less work than the previous version from a couple of years ago. They are totally comfy, I didn’t feel bound when I had them all the way on (I’m guessing this will be a negative for some of our sock fetishist friends, but hey, we cannot please everyone;)
Our supplier had to go to a lot of effort to make these and we promised not to order them very often. So, for now, one size, in black or white is all you get…
And if anyone orders these and then writes to me asking to return them because they didn’t realize they’d be so long you will only get laughed at!
Longer stripes are coming too, but not this long…
only about 80 inches for those and not for about a month.
