Comfy days at home…

should be spent in soft pj’s and these!

The fuzzy sparkles are sooooo soft and comfy that they make me want other clothing made from this material, too! :) My first pair were the red that Niqkita gave me for Christmas last year. The color was a bright, true red, and the festive sparkles won me over. :) Since the color had been so beautiful, I decided that I had to try a pair of baby pink, in hopes that it would be that perfect, soft shade of baby pink that I was hoping for. I wasn’t dissapointed!!! THEN, I bought my best friend the currently-sold-out black ones, and she was ecstatic, too!!! (we’ll see if I can get some pics of her in ‘em). ;)

The size range on these is excellent! They easily fit my size 12s (no tightness around heels and toes!!!) and would definitely fit much larger feet as well. Their soft, thick knit and ribbing makes them extremely comfortable and breathable, but I wouldn’t recommend wearing these inside shoes (although I have run errands in them because I was too lazy to change socks from these that I was using as houseslippers). :) I love to wear them around the house and find that they’re the comfiest right now as the weather (and accordingly, my floor) warms up a bit. I want a pair in every color!!! :D

Super Stripes at length…

I was lucky enough to receive a sample pair of Super Stripes before they became available for the rest of you! ;P I found them to be nice and comfy, great-fitting from my large feet to my small ankles to my skinny calves to my large thighs!

I got the black and dark red pair, and the colors didn’t dissapoint, either, but keep in mind that they are knit like the regular Ms and won’t give you complete opacity (you can see that I was wearing thin socks under these in the top pic). However, they’re thick enough for comfort and still breathable, hopefully giving us a wider range of seasons in which to wear our long socks! The ribbed tops keep them up and have lots of give, and I love the contrast color toes and heels.

On my long legs, these reached a sort-of high-mid-thigh length, and were very comfortable. If I had a complaint about these vs. the M Stripes, it would be that the ribbed tops are a solid color, while the M Stripes are striped toe to top. However, these will fit a wider range of people and, in doing so, hopefully open up new stripey doors for some!!! :D

Rebel With A Cause

I go through phases when I am very rebellious in my dress choice. Spurred on by having my hair dyed pink in aid of
the Tsunami Appeal in a “sponsored hairdye” I am currently well established in one of those phases. The arrival of a wonderful pair of pink/black tights through the post from our hosts here at Sock Dreams could not have been timed better.
I am a great fan of tights and either shorts or a skirt as a general purpose outfit. I am also partial to stripes and these tights make for a bold outfit that I really adore
Not only do they look great but the material is surprisingly robust and very warm and survived the rigours of a day in the fields and woodland of our farm here without damaging either the tights or my circulatory system both of us returning home intact and as fresh as we left. After a day on the farm they are also perfecting for relaxing out on the rug and soaking up the warmth of the radiator.
Who wants pants when tights come as good as this! They even look great with my pair of dual coloured running shoes! They stretch to fit my legs and frame perfectly and allow me to continue being bright and individualistic in a world of grey conformists! What more could I ask for? well maybe a few more pairs!

Dreaming in stripes
Our very own Shelleopard made these
… first for a friend, then for me, and now for the world!
I gave a sneak peek at these a little while back when I showed off our next Bust ad with all its layered mismatched glory. Now we have some in to sell. They are just like our other snappy garters with their two snaps and 20 inch max width. I like them best just above the knees or mid thigh so that they are low enough to show off because, really, why would you get a pair and then keep them hidden? I think they are super pretty, very romantic and totally unique!
Under them are our M Stripes. Last night I mentioned how the new stripes are so comfy that they will be pretty much replacing these. Don’t get me wrong, these are lovely and won’t be leaving us completely. They are snug though, even on me, and have so little elastic that the feet & ankles can (and will) get baggy on you. And while they will shrink several inches in length with a few trips through a hot washer & dryer those feet & ankles just don’t shrink up enough to suit some people, in fact, I’ve never found them to lose any width in the legs at all. On top of all this, if you are lucky enough to get them up your thighs, keeping them there is another challenge. A few things that might help are sock garters (of course!), garter belts (preferably one that is sturdier than pretty), liquid latex (not for those who don’t like a little pain at the end of a night out though) and my favorite trick (which many of you have reported works very well) is to wear them over some tights.
(OH, another option we like alot is cuffing them & letting them slouch)
It is because of these very qualities that I named the category M Stockings, in memory of the style of “stockings” my papa & many others wore as a child in Europe (ours are more colorful though!). Stockings do not have to be thin or silk or even nylon, that is just what we are most familiar with when thinking of stockings, at least in America I think we are. But here in the world of Sock Dreams we know that stockings are merely socks with a little more heart & soul than those you’ll find at department & discount stores.

Super Stripes

nice stretch!
If you’ve ever tried the M Stripes you know they are unique & sexy, but not always comfy, in fact they might not fit you at all because they are so long and lack stretch in the thighs, plus the feet & ankles can be way too loose.
Until recently we couldn’t get them made any bigger so we made the most of it and many of you love the M Stripes despite said issues. A while back we started testing samples of larger versions of stripes, each had their pluses and minuses but we felt this version came closest to what we were looking for, wide enough in the thighs to stretch over 23 inches (actually we found they made it to 25, but your results may vary) with stripes all the way to the toes and enough elastic in them to help the feet & ankles maintain their shape without “bagging out”. This is just our first round of these, I want to add smaller feet (they will fit down to a womans size 8, maybe 7) and I want to add lots more colors because I think these are soooo comfy!!! No struggling to pull them up, they stayed up well and they looked great. I know not everyone will love them as much as we do, but I think lots of you will!!!

stripes! you can’t get away from them! :)

Oh, how I love vertical stripes!!! Down here in the South, the weather’s off and on hot and cold right now. I had a nice, warm day to try the Opaque Vertical Stripes in black and white recently, and I loved them!!!

They stayed up well, were VERY comfortable, and looked stunning!!! I wore white thick and “buggy” longsocks (not currently available except in pink w/no ribbing) over them, scrunched down below my knees, and a rhinestone garter for fashion more than function, since the stripes held up well on me anyway. :) I paired my single garter with a thigh-purse-thingie that I’ve made myself in order to go hands-free when I’m out and about in skirts. The garter was comfy (although I had it on the larger setting and it did slip down a couple of times, lol) and it received much attention and questions. Of course, as always, the longsocks were excellent. :) These have ribbing around the foot which sort of “hugs” the arch and feels great, especially in boots! I give this trio ten toes up!

Oh for the love of socks to come!!!!!

Super Ms?">Just how big are the Super Ms?

When EG first told me this idea I laughed inside ~just how small do you think I am???
But sure enough it worked! I was able to comfortably, if not awkwardly, fit both of my legs into one sock!

Mind you, this is only mid thigh for me, if I were to get them all the way up they’d need at least another 12 inches of stretch, but this is surprisingly comfy!

…you might think that with only one leg in these would be terribly loose on me, not so, they are like putting on the legs of my fav pair of sweat pants, perfect for around the house and especially nice for sleeping in!

SUPER

I’m in love with my socks.

They are the Super M’s
and yes… They truly are SUPER.

For years I’ve seen pictures of svelte legs and longsocks loosely falling in wonderful folds and swags, yet everytime I’d try them on it was the same thing…. snug, form fitting… even tight. I watch as some of the more petite girls model over the knee socks, which are so often simply knee high on me. I yearned for really long, really loose, really great socks for ME. Sock dreams brought them to life and named them Super M’s.
Most larger and longer sock lovers will find comfort and room in these fun and flowing sockies. My larger than life muscular calves slid into them with ease, I have lots of length in them (though I like to wear them just a few inches over my knees so they fall in gorgeous swaddles (is that a word?) around my ankles. The feet fit mine wonderfully, there is lots of room for the ample thigh, and lots of length for those long leggy lovers out there. Some will need sock garters to keep these in the ideal spot, Some will joyously let these beauties fall down to their ankles as a many fold slouch sock. On me, these tend to keep just around my knee… with simple garters they stayed where I wanted them to through an entire evening.
These are such fun fun fun socks! They nearly make me feel smaller due to their non binding easy fit and loose folds. They are surprisingly light and loose, an excellent cool summer night sock, a wonderful part of fall layering. There are so many ways to wear them that I think everyone can find them a perfect spot in thier sock wardrobe. I must get more colors of these myself :O)
Even Vel finds them Super Comfy!!

Mooooooooooooooooooooooo!
