PERFECT
Yes… you heard me right. I said Perfect.
You may have noticed by now that I tend to be a bit picky when reviewing socks. I have this bothersome quirk of noticing little details that the average person really isn’t bothered by. At the risk of sometimes sounding tedious I always include exactly what I think (even the little things)… I hope it will perhaps help someone find their pairs of ultimate socks. But with the E.G. Smith Pippi Longstockings I am speechless.
They cradle my size 11’s perfectly. They pull up my large calves and fit like a dream up and just over my knee. (I would not recommend them for wider legs than mine though). They are the cushiest, snugglyest, dreamiest socks ever. Multifunctional too! So easy to go from the perfect slouch sock (and I do mean the PERFECT slouch sock… lots of folds… lots of cush) to an adorable over the knee. I love having that cute suprise… like an afternoon of hiking around in your shorts and workboots (with your socks slouched), ending up that evening in a cute little bar with margaritas flowing and you in your now pulled up to sexy over the knee socks… weeeeeeeee. Transformers … yes, that is what they are!!
We have petitioned for a very long time to get these (thanks Niq!!!). Now that we have got them in white I want colors too (maybe I will write a hundred letters to E.G. smith and beg)!!! Then maybe once we get them in colors we can get them in thigh high, then once we get them in thigh high maybe we can get them striped.. then… okay, okay… I know, getting carried away. But you do see where I am going. If I were on a deserted Island with just one pair of socks… these are what I think I would want. When you buy your first pair of these E.G. Smith Pippi Longstockings you will see what I mean. These are absolutely a necessary staple in my sock wardrobe.
A definate ten toes up!!

These were the very first long sock I ordered. Sadly, they discontinued them right about the same time I realized how wildly popular they were. After they were gone I started getting dozens of requests for them every week and started my quest for getting them made for us. Since I was brand new to the sock industry (my background is actually in food if you didn’t already know) I had a very hard time finding someone to make custom socks in small enough quantities for us to handle. Now, four years later we have many wondrous long socks custom made for us, yet these continue to be the bee’s knees for thick long socks!

Ok, EG, I wanna give those socks a whirl but you mentioned you have large calves….how large?? Mine are a whopping 17 inches over the widest part…my weight is starting to come down but irregardless of that I’ve always been told I have bodybuilder calves!!! The M40’s fit me so well…I wonder if these will, too???

Starcat: My calves are also 17″ at their largest point. When I first ever put them on, it was a tight squeeze to get them over my calves but once they made it past the large point, they were perfect. (They seem to “give” a little after a couple wearings.) Sorry for butting in… :)
