Our next ad…

to run in Gothic Beauty issue 16, due out early March (I think).
Next, 1/4 page, full color, back to back issues of Bust to get us safely through the usually painfully slow late spring/early summer season.
Yesterday I embarked on a one day journey with my good friend & part time assistant Jessica. I splurged on business class for the train ride up in the morning.
Shortly after noon we arrived in Seattle and headed for the Seattle trend Show where we looked at many beautiful socks. They were mostly summer styles, but I am really excited to have hooked up with a connection for the incredibly soft, warm Dannish MP line (!!!). It’s high end stuff so, for now, I had to keep my choices limited…
a batch is coming ASAP and includes wool tights (shipping next week I *hope*) and another batch from their fall line ~thin striped cotton tights, thick ribbed cotton tights & some soft pretty argyle knee highs, it’s due in October.
I also had the pleasure of sitting with my fav Hotsox rep, cute as ever, she could show me socks all day long and I’d never get bored. She showed me three lines, first, the Hotsox (makers of some of our best sellers this past holiday, like the kashmir shawls, diamonds & lace otk’s and the pom pom leg warmers). They have actual chenille socks in so many colors I couldn’t get them all, some knee highs in soft colors made of tee-shirt like cotton and promised to stay up, some really fun ruffled ankle/mid calf socks and a couple of other cute fun things that should arrive mid/late March. Jonathon Aston & Levante, high end Italian socks & hosiery were the others she showed me, there were super sexy sheer striped anklets and sheer argyle knee highs, pink lace thigh highs that have a ribbon tie up at the tops and some stunning lace stirrup leggings I could not resist. I know there were others, but it was a long day and we looked at so much stuff, we’ll just have to wait & be surprised by what else I found. The train had us back home again in time for a late dinner.
Today was a day of rest and joy, spent away from my desk & computer, except to do the ad and this entry. I leave you now with a note from the special instructions of an order that came in last night:
Thanks for running the best sock store in the known universe!
ah, you’re very very welcome!!!

The great thing about them, besides the other great things, was the price, I was able to get them in every color!!! unlike the chenille which was hundreds of dollars just for a small assortment of their many colors. And, I know this is partly because I was ovulating at the time, but the kids socks were soooo cute! Realistically I think kids socks are still a year off for us, but I can hardly wait til we’re that big!!! I have sooo many ideas, no shortage of those and more keep coming as well as great suggestions from so many of you ~:)

Thanks! …my old baton sits above the wondow in my studio and it was just crying out to be played with that day. I never was very good at twirling it but it sure made a handy prop. I wanted the ad to be fun and nearly nonsensical, like a dream, like when your dreaming something off the wall and you look down and realize your naked, except here you notice your socks ~:)
