The saga of the green & white stripes continues…
This week we received 72 pairs of the green & white tights
But even Leg Avenue ran out of the over-the-knee/thigh high version…
I’ll be surprised if we have any left tomorrow.
Fortunately, I brought in cotton M Stripes, as seen above, in green & white. We got in more fun new colors of these that I’ll be sharing in coming days, but I wanted to cover the Strawberry Shortcake situation because it’s been a hot one lately…
This is a brand new style that appears quite simple and is actually quite unique.
The socks come with the garters and have little loops at the top to keep them in place. They tighten with the help of D-rings and although I thought they’d be more for looks than function, my pair functioned quite well. I could wear them as over the knees, but I do think knee high is more realistic, they are labeled as a knee high after all.
I took alot of pictures over the weekend including some of these vertical sheer striped thigh highs that got returned with holes last month. Every so often something has a hole straight out of the package because life is not perfect, it’s nice when I can still use the returned item for pictures though. I thought they fit really well and heard from other satisfied sock buyers that these are actually quite durable as nylons go and they stayed up perfectly which is always a plus! We ran out of these in white last week because I simply underestimated sales and already had a large order coming from the supplier. These record breaking sales are making keeping everything in stock a far greater challenge! one of my favorites too since ordering/buying has always been one of my strong points and I have many years of large scale experience at it with my 11 years working for Trader Joe’s. My other big favorite is backstock/warehouse management and I’m getting plenty of that now too as I try my best to be prepared for ever increasing sales as we approach the busiest time of year.
This week I’ll be featuring new items here everyday & I’ve got alot to show off!
I’ve been wearing them for 24 hours now and yes, they are just as nice as they were last time we were able to get them! The only problem will be for those with larger legs as these are only about 16/17 inches at the top, which should be okay for knee length and below. They make the ultimate slouch sock because they are so thick and fall into perfect ribbed folds around your ankles & calves.

We’ve been waiting three long years for these to come back….
we’ve called, written letters, begged, pleaded, made promises to buy huge amounts if they’d just let us order them again and now they are really here!
We’ve got two BIG boxes full of them in the sock room now and should be able to order more anytime we want.
I’ve heard stories about how they were available in Japan but were not the quality we remember, well these look exactly as I remember and first thing Saturday morning I’m putting a pair on and putting them to the test, I’ll take some new pictures too….
They’re finally back!
Last year I had 4 dozen of these custom made based on our ever popular plaid knee highs. Before we ran out I tried & tried to get more to no avail…
But here they are at last! another 4 dozen, get them while you can!
How do they fit? pretty well, stretchy & durable, they stay up all day even through activity like walking & climbing stairs. Only a couple of little things to keep in mind, the pattern is printed on so if you have wide thighs the pattern will stretch, the more it stretches the less attractive it looks. And because it is printed on the pattern doesn’t always match up on the sides perfectly, it didn’t bother us & I don’t remember a single complaint in 47 sales last year…
I had a fabulous time and got some really great photos with the help of one of my bestest friends. She took a couple with my digital camera so I could share right away, but we took the good ones with her gear~ I’ll be sharing those when I get them.
I finally got a chance to wear the new Mercury Rising EG Smith cotton tights (I even put a fresh picture of them on their product page, if you still see the old one refresh the page). They were every bit as gorgeous as they looked in the package and went perfectly with the unusual rock formations at our fav little semi private beach in Laguna. I was running all around, up and down the rocks and cliffs in these, the comfiest of tights. My little toes are pretty tired and Thursday will be a big day of catching up around here for me. Thank goodness we now have extra help!
Wear them on their own, over plain-colored tights or leggings, or over stripes to create a neat effect:
They stretch MAH-velously and can be worn as thigh highs or REALLY highs! I always thought that these would just be a mess of snags but they appear to be very durable and are spectacular to look at as well as comfy to wear. One feature that I really like is the enclosed toe:
I was wearing half socks with them in the photos due to some unhappy toes, but these would do just fine all alone. You won’t have to worry about your toes poking out or getting all caught up in the netting. I give these ten toes up for fit and style; we’ll see about durability! ;)
As you have hopefully noticed, our long awaited new site is up & running!
Olivia did a fantastic job, everything is so much easier to find now and it’s also easier for me to update and maintain which, in itself, is a major blessing. Last night I added the first of the many new items I will be catching up on now that we are up. Today I added the new Super Ms, I was going to wait til I get back at the end of the week to put them up but you guys are buying up all our black M40s again so I thought I better add in an option before we run out (of course lots more black M40s are already on their way). These are wonderfully comfy! they slide on more like leggings than socks, I had bsti in shipping try them out and he loved them too. Next to report back to me wasone of our official larger sized testers, E.G., she loved them too (and another style we’ll bring in later). We only have these in black & royal blue, more colors ar.e coming next week and I had them made with the regular foot size which I find to be a bit loose on my 8.5 feet so there is also a smaller footed version!
So, now I am taking off for a few days. Going down to California to be with family for my Gramma’s 75th birthday. In my absence Bsti will be taking care of everything (with the help of our new assistant Xilia!!!). It’s been afantastic week and next week is sure to be even better!
