Happy Halloween!!!

I'm not afraid
boo!
be sure to say hi to your mother on Halloween!

Warmest toes

Feel the warmth!
I just know these are going to be a huge hit!!!
They are soo much nicer than the other long wool socks we’ve had!
They start off looking like this before being washed…
Unwashed wool
after a few washings they shrink up a bit and soften a lot
washed, softened & shrunken

I used a nicely fragranced laundry softener and turned them inside out to prevent piling. They shrink up about 5 inches, more or less the same as the cotton M40s, just a wee smaller & alot warmer! Around the house they’ve stayed up quite well, but for active use you might want to add sock garters to help keep them up.
New garters!!!
We’ve only got them in this lovely unbleached, undyed version for now, soon we’ll have them Super sized in the Super Ms too! Colors may come this winter, but I’m not making any promises so don’t hold me to it, these will keep you scrumptiously warm, naturally!

Last day at the beach

New bootie socks!!!
I’m actually wearing this exact combination now…
EG Tights~ Mercury rising with the new M Boooties
The tights are, of course, warm & comfy…
these booties stay on really well and come in two sizes, a smaller range that covers sizes 6-8, they are even perfect on my 8.5s, the larger, a medium 9-11 also fits my 8.5 with a bit of room to spare in the heel and they could be shrunk just a little if you washed them in hot & dried them on high heat. I like to wear booties for lots of reasons, they are light weight on warm days when you don’t want alot of sock, they are great for wearing over other socks around the house to keep the feet cleaner longer, they are perfect padding to make those slightly large shoes you love but rarely wear fit snugglier and they’re nice to slip on at bedtime when you don’t want a big warm sock over your legs but don’t want cold toes either.
We’ve got a nice little selection of colors to start with these and should be able to get even more colors in the future.
Say goodbye to the shore because tomorrow we’re testing wool!
bye bye beach!!!

Stripeys at the beach

Black & lilac M Stripes
These are my fav stripes right now…
black & lilac cotton M Stripes
Around the house they stay up fine all on their own, even when I’m sleeping, they benefit from ther occassional adjusting but if I really want them to stay up I use sock garters, I even take a pair with me because they fit in a pocket or purse so easily, just in case I need extra support once I’m out, there are few feelings as terrible as realizing your stockings aren’t going to stay up once you’ve left the house and these have saved me a few times! I need to get some more made, I just added these in:
white garters with red heartsblack garters with red hearts
Always soo much to do and sooo little time to be lazy ~:)

What in the hell is Mercury Rising?

Just another crazy name the folks at EG Smith gave their
ubercolorful space dyed cotton tights

So comfortable they’re like wearing nothing at all

Why go naked on the beach when your legs can be this warm & colorful?

I love these tights!!!|
The colors are gorgeous together.
Last week I was talking to Nancy at EG Smith, she is the rep and always such a dear. I asked her about the sizing of the tights and why the cotton otks don’t come in the same great range of colors that the tights & socklings do….
She said the Tights should easily fit up to 200 pounds, she even has larger folks who say they wear them, but due to differing proportions some people find the Bigger Better tights fit, well, better. Maybe someday they’ll give specific sizing on their olabels, but I wouldn’t hold my breath over it. There is a far better chance they wiull increase the cotton otk range first, she sees no reason not to have all the colors, including the space dyed in not only the otks, but the footless tights too, they might even add a bigger better footless! now that is good news!!!

A Day at the Beach in Pictures

sporty toesocks
Two weeks ago this morning I got on a plane and flew down to Orange County where I was picked up by my longtime friend & fellow photographer Tina. We got a bite to eat then headed to the beach to take pictures of some of my newest socks.
These are the new “Sport” toe socks from Feelmax. They have towel-like terry texture on the insides, although from the pictures I was expecting it to be on the outsides, inside does make more sense. They are totally comfy and got lots of compliments, one man even stopped me at the airport to ask “Where did you get those socks?!? I’ve never seen anything quite like them!” Only at the best sock shop online I replied with a grin as I handed him a card and walked away in my pink toesocks & sandals for a day of fun in the sun…

Belated Sunday entry…

I took nearly a full day off from Saturday evening til Sunday evening.
When I came back into the office on Sunday night to print orders & answer questions there were so many that I ran out of time to do an entry…
So here’s the picture I was going to use, it begins this week’s Day at the Beach series…

Tweed OTKs are back in!!!

nubby goodness for your legs & feet
I think I promised a few people I’d have these up by last weekend…
Here they are in all their nubby goodness.
Same cotton space dyed toes & heels as previous years, no top stripe like the first year we had them though. We’ve had alot of requests for these since the supplier, Ozone, ran out last year so I brought in a dozen of each color they offered and we’ll go from here. I’ll try to stock up better before they run out this time.
We also got in some yummy new fuzzy socks…
sooooo soft!!!
and they’re sparkle-y too!
have you felt those plush new polyester sweaters & robes? that’s what these are like.
Not the polyester your grandma wore, this stuff is really soft & comfy! actually my gramma does wear this kind of polyester because I gave her one of those sweaters for her birthday, the whole family raved about the softness. I thought the white ones were the absolute softest, but I think the others will soften up with washings & yes, you can throw them in the washing machine, just turn them inside out first to protect the sparkles.

Vertically striped tights

printed striped tights
These were a special request I asked Music Legs to have made…
but they were supposed to be thigh highs, not tights.
So, needless to say I was less than pleased as soon as they arrived, ohwell, they are still unique right?
yes, but being a printed pattern they don’t match up perfectly on the sides, still not too bad, the label is practically glued to them, in my haste I cut mine off, bad move! I’ve added a note on their page to peel rather than cut.
All that and they were not inexpensive. Still, they are unique and do fit quite well for the medium range.

As of today we now have official approval & declined pages when you go through the check out that are much friendlier than the simple old pages that would simply either say approved or “unable to process at this time” which was confusing for many. By doing this Olivia was also able to solve the little issue that was causing people to see an alarming page after clicking continue, it said “no merchant found”.

Also, today we found out why we are hearing from so many Canadians about late or missing orders this week: CANADIAN OFFICIALS STRICTLY ENFORCE CUSTOMS, ADDRESSING REQUIREMENTS FOR INBOUND INTERNATIONAL MAIL.
Although we have been following these guidlines all along they have a tremendous backlog that has slowed all incoming packages. All we can do or say is be patient, if for some reason they send items back to us we will contact the rightful owners immediately and resend the packages.

What’s hotter than summer & cooler than fall?

wicked black & red striped cotton stockings
Gorgeous M Stripes in an ever increasing array of colorful choices of course!
Yummie new black with light pink stripes
And these aren’t even my favorites…
The black & lilac are, and maybe I should have taken a picture of them by now, but Tina & I took quite a few of them at the beack last week and I should have those anyday now because she sent the pictures to me on Monday.
I’m wearing them now, they take a little more adjusting than the nylon stripes, but for long term comfort I find them to be superior. Their only real fault is that they really aren’t likely to be comfortable above a 19/20 inch width, though they stretch more with time since they are cotton and should wet stretch well if you don’t mind the extra effort. We will get wider fitting stripes in time, but they cannot be made on the same machines as these or the M40s so we’ll have to wait, til then, we’ll keep dreaming up more color combinations in this size range…
