These are my newest M stripes
a test pair mixing black cotton stripes with pink acrylic stripes
they worked for me so I ordered in a bunch…
they should be here in a week or so…

I found a better work around for adding new items and got a bunch done today, I also updated every single sock page with some simple improvements you may not even notice. Now I’m going through and making sure everything went up right & will need to make some adjustments here & there, then I can update the newest items page. Some of the noteworthy returns & additions for now are: slide socks are back, some new toesocks, white lace thigh highs finally arrived, sheer pink cuban heeled thigh highs are back and the sheer vertical striped thigh highs are now in white too!

These are my fav tights and I finally got around to taking decent pictures of them. The colors (“space forest” purple & green with some blue mixed in) are sooo much more cooperative than those naughty rainbows I did yesterday & I’ve had no troubles resizing the images. It’s a nice end to an otherwise crazy week. Lots of weird things went awry this week, none were drastic, just lots of little (and not-so-little) headaches were had.

We’ve talked before about how nice these cotton EG Smith tights are…
They changed my negative attitude about tights. And while I will admit to having had to repair the butt seam in one pair I have, I’ve worn these bunches of times and have not needed to mend them once. They fit well, are uber comfy, don’t sag at my waist but are not tight either, hah! tights that are not tight, what a concept!

And finally, what I wore them with today…

a sleek skirt, beloved bootsocks & my Rush Hour Express Mary Janes…
if you’ve read the journal in the past you’ve likely seen one of my numerous mentions of these, I still get at least one letter a month about them, sometimes several in a week, it’s a genuine “Frequently Asked Question” or FAQs as they are often listed on websites. I still don’t know where to find them, though I’ve heard that they can be found on auction sites…

just the facts…

acrylic blend, thicker than nylon, more like a cotton sock
size range, label says 90-160 lbs, the tops may be a bit snug on some, especially if you pull them up to your thighs.
my thoughts…
I usually only order in a dozen of anything new so that I can make sure we’ll like them before getting more, but I knew as soon as I saw these that they would be a winner so I started with 3 dozen and so far I’m glad I did…
I put them on before heading downstairs to pull the day’s orders. Up & down the stairs I went, sometimes running and skipping steps, they stayed up impressively well. Next I headed off to the bookstore for an evening of bibliofun at it’s finest…

when I took long strides during my walk to the store the tops slipped a bit closer to my knees, but other than that stayed up the whole evening, up & down aisles & ladders, totally comfy, totally cute! heads turned, compliments were had. If you like rainbows, stripes or nice long socks you need a pair of these!
I have made a new page just for them and am still working on getting the images to show properly at a smaller size…

Before my alarm went off at 7 am I got up and climbed into the shower.
The first pair of socks I reach for at a time like this is usually a nice old pair of bootsocks. These are well broken in so they slip on easily, even over damp toes with fresh lotion. I knew I needed to take some pictures of the new green & white striped tights & otk’s and another fav thing about bootsocks is they don’t leave any lines on my ankles & feet when I take them off after a few hours for pictures plus if I need to walk across the room in clean socks the bootsocks are there to slip right over them.
Now, I was going to just talk about the new stuff til I got this letter:

Well, by chance I was wearing my very fav socks today…
royal blue bootsocks
(not far behind them are toesocks & longsocks)
these are about as thick as they get, remember longstockings?
(due back this fall as “Longsocklings”)
215 inches was the longest I expect we’ll ever have
(I hope to have the story behind why we never got more 50 or 100 inch socks soon)
I hadn’t thought about hockey socks before, but would like to get some soccer socks eventually so sure, we’ll throw hockey socks in there too when the time comes
and that last question, gf usually stands for girlfriend right?
